Clean, cozy& cute. We stayed here overnight and loved it.It was easy to book and nicely priced. Most definitely will be back next time we are this way. It was our first time staying in a non traditional hotel/motel. I'm so glad I took the chance. I'm an extremely tidy person and I worry about places being clean. I could walk around in my socks here. Highly recommend it. Pet friendly too❤

What a wonderful place to stay!! We just wanted to sneak away from the house for a night, and it was like we went from one home to another. Kara has truly outdone herself with every detail. From the time we walked in, we were amazed with the attention she has paid to make us feel at home. The feel of the electric fireplace, the comfy bed, and the kitchen stocked with pretty much every breakfast item we could hope for. I look forward to coming back, and bringing the family with me next time. 5 stars all the way!!!!

Came to town for a family wedding. Our part of the family booked 3 of the suites/rooms/flats for 2 nights. The house is truly amazing with all the bells and whistles of a house from the early 1900's. There is great attention to detail with furniture, odds and ends to make you feel like you are in a home and not a motel or hotel. Everything was very clean, I forgot my shower supplies but they had actual shampoo and conditioner to use that was there for all. Loved the good/real coffee and coffee maker. And all of this was just a short distance to many restaurants, bars, and our destination to the wedding. Everything was less than a 5 minute drive.

Thank you Kara for the 'home away from home' feeling at a sad time for our family. So many ways that all of us enjoyed our stay. Your bedding, a very comfortable sofa, seating outside to view the lightning as the storm rolled in and Bill loved the train going by!
Thanks again Kara!

Kara's is s beautiful and cozy place. It was very clean. It was nice to stay and relax for the evening. It is close to downtown if you want to go out for the night. You can so stay in and cook or grill out on the patio. I will be staying again for sure.

We stayed in 2 bedroom apartment overnight (too short for the place!) Simply outstanding! Tastefully decorated with hard to find artsy furnishings sparkling clean centrally aired New York style apartment with high ceilings and RH style furniture, nice robes and luxury bedding. Also, small granite VERY STYLISH kitchen with World Market dishes and all-you-need-for-breakfast items - we found fresh eggs, biscuits, sausages, yogurt, juices, granola, etc. Everything is the highest quality, healthy items (juices are not from concentrate, fresh lean yogurt, expensive napkins). Dining room is cozy - wood table, woven chairs. Lots of nice homey touches throughout the place - from unusual iron wall hangers, weaved wall art, nice floor baskets to even artsy kitchen soap dish... Even our dog felt at home - usually in hotels she is restless and nervous, jumps right into our bed and never leaves it till we are out. Not here! In Kara's cottage, she was calm, stayed on the nice floor rug minding us completely and guarding the entry door trying to protect the place as she does at home! Tells a lot about the place! In addition, Kara is a pleasure to deal with. Booking through Priceline, we had a little misunderstanding with one of her units being marked as pet friendly on Priceline, which in fact was not (it turned out that all Kara's units are pet friendly, but the one we rented) The mistake was discovered on the day of travel during my phone conversation with Kara. It took Kara literally 10 min to find the solution I honestly thought we would never find! Very impressed with the stay! Traveled as a couple.

Unbelievable decor and home feeling. Kara is an excellent host and communicator. Without question, excellent place to stay. Thank you Kara. You made our short weekend splendid.
Kottages are very clean, modern and spacious. Why would anyone stay at a hotel? A++

When I hear the word "cottage," I think of someplace quaint and cozy. Kara's Kottage on Main Street definitely fit the bill! The small space was so well designed and well stocked (high-end toiletries and breakfast supplies available for use), it exceeded my expectations. To top it all off, Kara was very kind and accommodating. It was a perfect stay -- except for the trains going by in the wee hours. I'll bring earplugs next time :-)

I don't normally write reviews, but I had such a great experience I feel compelled. Not only was the unit I stayed in laid out beautifully, Kara was very helpful, kind and gracious. I could see myself living where I had the pleasure of staying for a night. Will be back, and highly recommend.

Our stay at Kara's Kottage was a luxurious, relaxing, and thoughtful experience. From the gorgeous home decor to the inviting amenities (Keurig, claw-foot tub, luxury linens), the kottage was a must-see/must-stay. We appreciate Kara sharing her home with us; we will definitely be utilizing her beautiful lodging whenever we are visiting Kalamazoo!

This was my husband and I's first trip away from our baby and it was exactly what was needed. In the middle of where you want to be but you would never know it! It's the perfect get away but not too far away. Cozy, warm and comfortable. We will definitely be staying again. Loved the stocked fridge, much better than a continental breakfast.

Kara's Kottages is a hidden gem in the campus area of Kalamazoo. This lovely older house has been beautifully converted and upgraded into three multi-bedroom suites that include spacious kitchens, bathrooms, dining rooms and living rooms. Each room supplies virtually every amenity one could need for an overnight stay, and I'm only sorry I cannot find anything comparable for the remainder of my trip.

We will be back! Close to WMU Campus, restaurants and downtown. But what we loved was it was like going back to a home. Kara is exceptionally nice and willing to make our stay perfect. Never stay at a hotel again in Kalamazoo!

There's not an ounce of dissatisfaction in this comfortable and outstanding place. This is my second visit and I guarantee I'll be back for more.

Your own piece of heaven for the night (or two, trust me you won't want to leave) we stayed in the redwood kottage and were absolutely astounded at how cute and cozy the place was. We will definitely be staying again.

THE coziest. Such a cute and relaxing alternative to a stale hotel! Had the electric fireplace going, sipping a cup of tea getting ready for bed. Uuuum, I can get used to this!! 😎
