The Black Boar was a great place to stay for us! So incredibly charming, a very comfortable room & bed, gorgeous town, and perfect for us to get away for 3 days for our anniversary. We didn't spend a whole lot of time in the Boar since we had perfect weather for exploring the area, but when we were there, it was great! Nothing negative to say, just know that it's a continental breakfast, which didn't matter to us at all. The Inn is right in town, so you're walking distance to shops, a great little bakery, the beach, and restaurants & bars, but it's at the outer part of town, so it's nice and quiet. We highly recommend staying at the Black Boar!

We stayed at the Black Boar Inn for four nights last week. Not only was it super charming, but an excellent downtown location! A close walk to restaurant shops and of course the beach. The Innkeepers Wally and Chad were always so friendly and accommodating. Definitely going back!

Claudine greeted us upon arrival, recommended wonderful restaurants to have dinner and let us know where our room was for our “honeymoon getaway weekend” the Lesa Lynn room is a gem set apart on the outside of the main house with its own entry. It was so clean, sanitized and lovely! Continental breakfast was good with a nice variety that included danish, scones, apple turnovers, and bagels, cold cereal, yogurt, cereal bars and granola bars, and fresh fruit, hot coffee and juice. Also a variety of hot tea bags are offered at any time. In the evenings, Claudine offered to light the fire in the main living room hearth for us to enjoy. Because we were here off season, we were also offered the choice of an inside the house room to stay in or our original room attached to the house but with the separate entrance. The home has amazing history and is well kept. It sits right on the main strip in downtown Ogunquit a pleasant walk to the beach and nearby restaurants and shops. We will definitely be back. This was our first stay at an air bnb and we loved the personal attention and atmosphere! EXCELLENT and TREASURED experience and stay of two nights. Very worth trying! And we will be returning gladly, hoping to see lovely, sweet, smiling Claudine again!

We recently stayed at The Black Boar Inn in Ogunquit, Maine. We were there with another couple and they were able to put us in rooms across from each other which was nice. The rooms were lovely with hardwood floors and period furnishings and they were very spacious. They each had a fireplace (non-working, but pretty to look at) and a couple of chairs to relax in. A nice modern bathroom and a very nice tiled shower. The hostess was so nice and accommodating too! There was a nice continental breakfast with fresh cut fruit and assorted muffins and danish and a delicious homemade banana bread. It had a sitting room and a front porch where we enjoyed some wine and relaxation in the evening. It's a short walk to the shops in Ogunquit or to the beach and the Marginal Way. All in all, it was a great place for a nice little get-away!

Otherwise, I don't write reviews, but this one deserves it.
I know they are new restoran in tow , so they deserve the best!
The dinner I had at The Black Boar Inn will remain in my memories for a long time.
From the friendly atmosphere, the wonderful chef who informs us adequately about the food we are eating.
I've been to a lot of places in Ogunquito, but definitely the best dinner I had was right here.
I have no complaints, everything is delicious, made at a really top level!
Thank you, I will be back for sure! 😋

This is the perfect place to stay in adorable Ogunquit! The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the caretaker Claudine was amazing! She was always there to see if we needed anything, and she was fun too! We didn’t eat dinner there but the food smelled amazing! We stayed an extra day and drove to Boston O’Hare early in the am, so much better than spending $400 in a hotel by the airport. Ogunquit is a great town and the inn is steps away from the shops, restaurants, the beach and Marginal Way. Loved it!

We stayed for 3 days and had a lovely time. Very lovely house and garden. It’s an old building but has lots of charm! Each room has a cute outside/sitting area. We stayed in the Lesa Lynn room which was in the back. Very quiet and private. But there were larger rooms which faced the street if you’d prefer to be close to the front. Accommodating and helpful staff! A short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants!

My husband and I stayed September 11-15 2021 and loved the location. A short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. We had a clean comfortable room with a queen bed. The shower was roomy and had good water pressure. The staff was friendly and so were the people we met every morning having a bite to eat.

We tried out the new restaurant for the first time tonight and the food was spectacular. Honestly one of the better meals my wife and I have had in quite some time, and we feel lucky we discovered this gem early on, as I’m sure it will be tough to get a reservation here once the word gets out.

The dishes seemed traditional on the surface, but the chef used ingredients that were truly unique. My salmon was cooked perfectly (I mean absolutely perfectly…. drooling thinking about it), but it was the sides that really made the dish. From the picture posted by a previous reviewer I thought it came with mashed potatoes, but it was a celery root purée with molasses and pomegranate (who thinks of that?), and it was spectacular.

My wife got the boar stew and had a similar reaction. We will be back, and we can’t wait to see what dishes they come up with next.

This inn is in a great location, within walking distance to the ocean and attractions. Claudine is a warm and friendly innkeeper, and she does alot to make this an inviting spot! The building has quite a history, and is well maintained. We loved the Marginal Way, a paved walkway along the coast with lovely views! Thank you Claudine.

Exceptional Bed & Breakfast with a rich history. It's in town and very close to all of the restaurants and shops, but is balanced with a peaceful New England serenity. The rooms are quaint, spacious, very clean, and very well maintained. The breakfast is made up of a wonderful variety of locally grown produce, breads, and meat. There is an exceptional bakery and coffee shop as well as a drug store right across the street. Local transportation through the use of the trolley allows access to all of the major sights. The owner is very knowledgable about the local history, best places to go and visit, as is able to book a variety of tours for your personal enjoyment. We took a sailing trip which was organized through the owner and it was fabulous. 5 stars and will definitely return again!

This has to be one of the best spots in all of town to stay for vacation. The staff was amazing, the entire inn was gorgeous and our room was STELLAR.

When we come back we will be sure to stay here again. BBI was the PERFECT distance from downtown, the beach, and everything you could want and need.

Super sweet Inn with the most delightful host & hostess. The location is supreme, the rooms cozy as all get out, but far and away the best part of the Black Boar Inn experience was meeting Claudine, Queen Bee of the Inn. Claudine is one of those rare individuals that just beams light into the world. She attends to all the important details and then some to give each guest a special individual experience, and does it all in her calm, cool, enjoyable style. This just became our favorite place to stay in Ogunquit.

We had a wonderful time when we visited in march. It was a very cold weekend, but Dwayne kept the fire going all weekend making it very cozy and charming in the sitting room. Breakfasts were wonderful, room extremely comfortable, and the host made us feel like visiting friends rather than paying guests. We will definitely be going back!

Charming Old Inn in terrific location with a very friendly atmosphere. Dwayne ad Claudine made us feel most welcome. Small but comfortable room. Very clean. Superb full breakfasts, varied each day and equally good each day. We hope to go back again.

Nice clean rooms, lots of historic touches (old latches, knobs, hearth, etc), very quiet, generous breakfast! Very conveniently located close to downtown. Only downside is the wifi is a little unreliable. Thank you for a lovely stay!

A very cool experience staying here. My wife and I stayed in the King James II room and it had such a great colonial feel to it. The made to order breakfast was outstanding and plentiful. Thanks to Duane for your hospitality and making us feel like we were home.

We decided to take a one night vacation from boston up to ogunquit at 4 pm. On such short notice they accommodated us so amazingly. From the straight forward contactless entry to the cleanliness to the breakfast service everything was awesome. Being right in downtown for such an awesome rate in a beautiful bnb really made the trip something more than what we were expecting. Definitely will be back!
