Poland Family Practice

Yesterday was my first appointment and I loved the place. The staff was friendly the Nurses was very nice and professional and I enjoyed my talk with the doctor. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone in the Poland Mechanic Falls area looking for a (PCP)

I’ve never experienced such impeccable care in a doctors office like I do during every visit to Poland Family Practice! Everyone there is very friendly and goes above and beyond, but my doctor Jessica really takes the cake. I am so happy to have found a regular doctor who truly shows they care.

Been seeing Dr. Smith since I was a child. He remains my PCP and my 5 children's. I trust in his care and advice. He is great with kids and adults alike, very easy to get along with. The other doctors in the building are just as wonderful. All the staff treats you like family!

I have been coming to Poland Family Practice for many years, actually had Dr Nemeroff and he left for New Zealand then Dr. Smith, I loved them both they were outstanding doctors, caring with a great personality!..Miss them Both..I have never had any problems, maybe a couple scheduling or getting back to me from the Office, but I know that they can get busy...So now we have Dr. Basem Elbrolosy, I've seen him once so far, he seemed Nice and very Thorough...My last visit I saw Judy Franciose...Very Nice Lady, Great listener..spent a lot of time talking..sorry*..lol
All in All, I like Poland Family Practice they've had some great doctors there and you can't complain about that!!

Needed an appointment asap they got me in next day and were able to get me the help I needed. Highly recommend. Dr was super nice and knowledgeable!

DR DOUG SMITH IS A DR THAT LISTENS TO YOUR CONCERNS AND IS THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE PCP I HAVE EVER HAD AND UNDERSTANDING

Nurses, staff and doc are helpful and welcoming.

So far this is the only place he's ever gone to, feels like we're settling, but this is the only place he's gone he's very sick..we had some issues with the care,but she knows his history 😔 I'm extremely concerned because of the issues we had she was his doctor from minot ave now she's here, but since he gotten sick ended up in a coma but when I did go in with him I told her my concern and I truly believe this could of been prevented if someone just took there time and listened and read the test results correctly he wouldn't of ended up in a coma
That were we are at so I'm paying close attention and so ain't his home health nurses and if I have to get a lawyer involved I will his family thinks I should but right now I have to focus on him he's very sick and I still believe he been swept under a rug and forgotten seem like Noone cares on how sick he really is this is all nice to us, extremely concerned but this is where we are at hopefully he gets the attention he needs

Dr. Smith is a wonderful doctor, always listening and working through options with us. The office staff, however, are another story altogether. Repeated issues with various medical orders and prescriptions not being called in or being sent to the wrong place have unfortunately left us looking for another provider.

It is a real shame too, as Dr. Smith has always taken good care of us. It's just very hard working with his office staff and having them repeatedly not get things right. There have been mistakes made taking simple vital signs. It is also very frustrating when you take time off from work and travel to a lab and then the orders are not ready, so you have to take more time off and make another trip. Or you call to get a prescription refilled and it doesn't get done, then you run out of your medications for a few days while they fix it. This is the reason for the 3 stars. Doc would get 5 and the office staff would get around 2.

Jordan Albair is a 10 Star Doctor. Been a patient for several years. It is beyond extremely difficult to get through to the office to book an appointment when you are sick. Also many times I call about something and don't get a call back. Love Jordan but this office needs people who are on point when at their job. We all need each other to stay healthy.

Called before closing for covid medicine was told someone would call me back. If not call back. I did that got answering service was told they would send message to have someone call back in 20 minutes if not try again. Did that 7 times and nobody got back to me. Pharmacy closing at 8 pm so I gave up.

The actual doctors at this office are amazing! They are always friendly, open, and try to help as much as possible.
That being said the staff that work the office end of the business are never helpful, usually rude or don’t care, and make many mistakes... that’s even if you can get ahold of them because you’re usually on hold for at least 15 minutes and then they can’t even help you with what you’re calling for. Not to mention I had an appointment set way ahead of time, the doctor changed their work days and hours so my appointment was canceled but I was not informed.. I drove 1.5 hours to get to the appointment only to be told I never had an appointment by one staff member and that my appointment was canceled and I should have been notified by another staff memeber... Lying and not communicating cancellations are not okay or professional by any means.
The nurses seem very over worked and have made some seriously cleanliness mistakes that actually gave me an infection because of this. I went back to the office to get help for it and was told I was ridiculous for believing it was from the office after giving detail to seeing a nurse put gloves on, leave the room for 5 minutes and then return to my room with the same gloves and didn’t change them or anything and then touch equipment that was later used on me. To make matters worse I was charged way too much for a problem that they caused because it was a second visit not included in my plan.

The providers are usually great at this practice, but their office support staff needs a lot of work. I switched practices altogether because the amount of mistakes they made as well as the headaches they caused when dealing with them wasn't worth it. You would be lucky to get a call back the same day regarding an acute issue, which is not only frustrating but could be dangerous.

Please don’t waste your time. The doctors are amazing, but all the other staff are horrible. It takes days to get a call back even when told they will call back within an hour. You can’t get an appointment most of the time and it takes MONTHS to get referrals sent even to other St. Mary’s facilities.

dr smith was a excellent physician, he listened to his patients. but unfortunately he has moved on to an administrative position. his replacement does not listen to the patient and thinks he knows everything with one consult. dont waste your time here. st marys has been going down hill for the past few years and this has finally confirmed that i need to move on.
