Sannauk Forest Preserve

First week of April wild flower walk! Wild flowers will be peak in a week. Plenty of parking. Plenty of walking paths. Easy access fishing.

Beautiful Forest Preserve! Wild flowers growing on the paths everywhere. Areas with crystal clear swamp like water, where the frogs are plentiful. Makes a great walking day!

Used one of the shelters for our family Thanksgiving. Been doing so for over 30 years. The family loves it and looks forward to being there every year.

great place for a walk. very clean. nicely graded trails or u can walk the more wooded trails along the river. bring the dog

Generations of my family are from the area, but sadly I haven't visited the Preserve in years, Great place for family picnics, trails, nature. I was amazed then by the wildness and beauty there. It has a powerful quietness in its spaces that even as a silly kid (64 yrs now) I understood and respected. Beautiful Nature.

Absolutely LOVE this little forest preserve. I only live a half a mile away and take full advantage. Good trails, great fishing, lovely atmosphere. The cabin rentals are ridiculously cheap as well. Only $15 for the day and they have electricity and a wood burner if it's still a bit chilly out. Plenty of room for everyone. Highly, highly recommend Sannauk

I have always lived this forest preserve . It's well maintained and small enough that it doesn't have large crowds. The trails are clean and marked. Its a great for dog walking or exercising.

Nice lil sloping forest preserve along a creek on the east and a field on the west. It's big enough to enjoy and small enough to get through in a few hours. Has bathrooms, playground, pavillions, and even a sledding hill. Great trails with one leading out to Somonauk on the SW corner.

I love this preserve. Michelle kept mine trails lots of wildlife and plants.

Went to my niece's graduation party there. To rent a space is crazy cheap and a good place to hold any small gathering. Just remember the mosquito repellent!

Always a good time, easy for kids! Trails that don't take all day but plenty to see, oh and you can fish! What else can you ask for?

We like to bird watch its a great place ! Quiet,a creek runs thru and lots if walking trails

Im a train lover and cabin 4 is the best place ever! Eatin dinner and hear the roar of a passing BNSF or Amtrack passing by.

I absolutely love this place. Beautiful forest preserve, and who ever is the caretaker now is doing a wonderful job.
