TLC Laser Eye Centers

I chose TLC based on the recommendation of a friend. I was not disappointed, and I now recommend TLC to anyone I know wearing contacts or glasses. It's not easy to trust other people with your vision—I'll admit I was nervous. But the doctors and staff at the TLC centers were knowledgeable, understanding, and friendly. I've been fortunate to have Dr. Jo Angeles taking care of me post-operation. She has truly taken good care of me. Throughout my follow-up appointments, Dr. Angeles has been a wonderful doctor. If you've ever considered a life without glasses, it is possible and it is wonderful. Having lived with glasses for years, my vision is now better than 20/20 and it's miraculous to wake up and not have the very first thing of my day be finding my glasses and putting them on my face. Lasik surgery is worth it. Every day for the last two months since my surgery, I've been grateful to TLC.

I had my PRK eye surgery last Christmas with Dr. Holzman and am very happy with my vision post surgery, thanks to the great work and care that the TLC team provided.

I had dry eyes, so dry that they don’t tolerate contact lenses, and I was unhappy with the vision that I could get with prescription glasses. During the initial consultation with Dr. Angeles, I asked many questions about the surgery and more about vision. Dr. Angeles explained them very well and cleared a lot of the doubts in my mind, giving me the confidence I needed to commit to an eye surgery.

It turned out to be a great decision - it took a while to have my vision stabilized to the level I wanted and to treat my dry eyes, but it is such a wonderful thing to see things clearly without glasses. I have never felt better about my eyes!

I got lasik eye surgery towards the end of August and have waited to post a review of my experience in order to report on how (almost) the whole process has gone. Everyone that I worked with at TLC was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Scheduling was very easy and convenient. I had many appointments to ensure that my eye prescription was not changing before the surgery and that my eyes produced enough tears, which would ensure that I would not be susceptible to dry eye. The surgery was very easy, and stress free. I was able to ask all of my questions about the process and the effects. Dr. Holzman has a very good beside manner and the whole process was quick - maybe 5 minutes! He followed up with me both later on the afternoon of the surgery and a couple of days later to ensure my eyes were feeling good. I AM SO HAPPY I DID THIS. Best money I ever spent on myself. With the team at TLC I felt confident that I was working with one of the best teams (I was very nervous about this surgery and did a lot of research to figure out who to go with in DC). I was able to use my optometrist (who works with Dr. Holzman) for the post-surgery check-ups (1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, etc.), which was incredibly fantastic- so easy and convenient. I was able to schedule these appointments for the exact times and days that worked for my schedule. My eyes still feel fantastic and I have not had any problems with dry eyes (though I did follow the eye drop regimen exactly).

I'm so thankful I chose TLC for Lasik. Everyone from the front desk to the surgeon (and everyone in between) was knowledgeable, professional, and made me feel comfortable the entire time. I would recommend TLC to anyone considering laser eye surgery, I have no regrets!

This review covers both TLC Laser Eye Center facilities in Rockville, MD, as well as the TLC Laser Eye Center at 1801 K St NW. I would highly recommend these two TLC Laser Eye Centers to others and greatly appreciated their knowledgeable, supportive, and accommodating staff. I underwent two procedures for each eye (PRK and Corneal Crosslinking for Keratoconus (CXL)) and would commend their entire staff for how they made my wife and I comfortable with how the procedures would be performed, the time they took to explain the cost/risks associated with each procedure, and their care/extra time after each procedure to ensure the best outcome. I would especially highlight: (1) Dr. Angeles for her initial diagnosis of my degenerative eye condition - a condition that my regular optometrist had overlooked on multiple occasions, as well as her genuine concern and support post-surgery; (2) Dr. Smeriglio's incredible patience and professionalism during the pre-surgery phase where he painstakingly conducted additional diagnostic testing, spending at least 1.5-2 hours running additional scans to ensure the best possible surgical outcome; (3) Dr. Holzman and his surgical team for their professionalism and finesse in successfully performing the successful procedures; and (4) their entire support teams (both in Rockville and DC) who were incredibly empathetic and seemed to go out of their way to make me feel comfortable in what would have otherwise been an intimidating and nerve-racking time for me as a patient. Overall, I was very satisfied with the outcome and their support before, during, and after surgery and would strongly recommend them to others considering PRK and/or CXL. Finally, I wanted to specifically recognize and thank TLC for the excellent care provided by their Rockville location's expert technician for the CXL-portion of the procedure. Mariah's heartfelt concern, attention to detail, and positive attitude made the lengthy CXL procedure appear to fly by. As someone who works professionally to recruit and retain specialized healthcare providers, I strongly recommend that you consider Mariah for employer-sponsored professional growth and educational opportunities. In sum, I offer my strongest recommendation and endorsement for the care and services provided by these two TLC locations and would encourage others to consider TLC for PRK or CXL.

I elected for the PRK operation, and the process could not have gone more smoothly. During the consultation, TLC answered all the questions I had and presented the potential risks in an objective manner. The procedure went incredibly well and lasted all of 15 minutes from start to finish. Recovery proceeded smoothly as well as I followed their protocol to the letter. I now have better than 20/20 vision and nearly 20/15.

Highly recommend, the staff was extremely friendly and went the extra mile as far as customer service (great instructions for pre / post op, responsive to questions, reaching out night of surgery to check in). TLC appeared to be priced higher then most other options I found but that is because they show you full cost up front with check-ups and even a touch up procedure 10-20 years down the road included.

Highly recommend TLC laser eye center. Every doctor, technician, and staff member I interacted with were nice, knowledgeable, and efficient. Very pleased with the care I received and so happy I now have 20/20 vision!

Dr. Holzman came highly recommended and did not disappoint. I was nervous going under the laser, but the team at TLC put me at ease with their professionalism. It's been several months and I am exceedingly happy with my results!

It has been an amazing experience with TLC. Everything from the Doctor and the staff has been great. Its has been a month and everything looks to be on track as all the Doctors has said and recommended.
