Been to Ophelia’s a handful of times over the years and I absolutely LOVE the staff and the selection. Used and sometimes new! They have a great trade-in/buy-back program you can access in-store each day up to 3pm. As well, if I ask for one decent reading recommendation I usually end up with 5 great ones; it’s obvious that the staff here is passionate and very knowledgeable about the books they keep so don’t be afraid to ask! Little touches like the tiny artsy (and free?!) bookmarks at the counter make this place my favorite bookstore in Seattle. Thank you!

Ophelia's is my favorite bookstore in Seattle in terms of charm. The shop is decorated with homey trinkets and full of well-loved books. They have several used books in near-perfect condition at great prices. The one thing I did notice is the space isn't very accessible- with narrow isles and a steep spiral staircase. If accessibility isn't a concern for you, I recommend checking this place out!

Great prices, friendly staff, & a super cool spot. Books range from architecture to religion to history to sci-fi to witchcraft. It's one of those bookstores you could get lost in for hours. I wish they had more space just to add a few tall wingback armchairs to sit & peruse, but lacking that doesn't detract from the space at all. They also have a couple styles of t-shirts, & gave me a complimentary bookmark with my purchase.

Great inventory of well-priced and cared for books. We enjoyed looking through the many shelves and levels of this quaint bookstore.

It's my go-to for a fun, fresh mix of old finds, classic art books, or books that need to be saved (bookbinding repair or upcycling). They receive a lot of books to keep the inventory very, very fresh! Very knowledgeable staff too; if they have it, they know it. If not, they can make a suggestion or take your name in case a certain book title shows up. Plus, the restaurants around the bookstore make the neighborhood a fun destination. The space is a little small, so it gets crowded on weekends, so I try to go on weekdays if I want to browse a lot of titles.

Beautiful nook of books! Found two gems and more but only went with two because of the pockets... haha!

Impressive inventory of over sized science fiction books. I stumbled upon a first edition by Ursula K. Le Guin and was quite pleased to snag it. Friendly staff. Charming store.

Amazing staff with an impressive collection given the small space. Highly, highly recommend. I got a first edition “Now Let’s Talk About Music” and I’m thoroughly enjoying it.

Such a great thrift bookstore! I’ve found several books here that I loved. Sometimes you can find BOTM club books too which are usually pretty good. The staff is really nice and helpful too.

What a quaint bookstore! This was found by my daughter while we were exploring after going over the Fremont Bridge.
It was worth the time to look around. We even found a couple of books to take with us on our cruise.

the people here are incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. every time i visit, i find yet another impactful book. their curation is sublime and the spiraling staircase into the lower level is a lovely touch

the store location is fantastic. there’s sushi, bakery, burgers, gelato and so so much nearby as well. though be mindful of the limited space

Beware if you're allergic to cats like I am, as they're roaming around the location. Otherwise, I'd way the selection of books out of all the secondary book locations that I've been to is phenomenal. They're always restocking on the most popular selection, so you can usually just hop into the store in order to see if they have what you want. Otherwise, you can put your name down in order to get a call-back when they have the book in their inventory. Highly recommend giving this location a visit!

Wonderful bookstore! I pop in any time in Fremont, mostly to say hello to Claudia (the nicest cat in the world) but also to check their amazing mystery selection. They got me hooked on Boris Akunin novels and now I can't stop!
