The Bayfield Inn

This is probably one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at in Bayfield!

For reference, I have stayed in a lot of hotels in the Bayfield area over the years, and I have to say this was the nicest one yet. It is a little expensive, but in my opinion it was worth it!

We booked one of the jacuzzi rooms for a weekend (which of course is more expensive than a regular one) and I am so glad we did. The jacuzzi was so relaxing and the room itself was comfortable. The staff were super nice and accommodating. Although we didn’t need anything during our stay, I’m positive it would have been taken care of for us.

The parking is spacious and you get “permits” for your stay so that it ensures all customers get parking. It is in such a convenient location because everything is within walking distance. We were deciding between this one and another location and I am glad we chose this hotel because of it being so convenient to stay in the parking lot and just walk where we needed to go without stressing over parking.

The only downside is that there is no continental breakfast. They do have the restaurant attached which we had dinner at and it was delicious. Also, they have vending machines where you can purchase snack. However, for the price we paid, I will say the main con I had here was not being able to have anything included for breakfast, even if it was something simple or some discount for purchasing a room at their hotel. Thankfully there are quite a few options to choose from for breakfast (including the attached restaurant), and I know there aren’t a whole lot of other hotels in Bayfield that actually provide breakfast either. So unfortunately this is something that is hard to come by in general if you want to stay in Bayfield (unless you go to the bed and breakfasts or stay in Ashland).

Overall I am glad we came. I had a lot of fun and I would love to come back soon!

We spent our 30th anniversary at the Bay field Inn. We received a bottle of wine and chocolates with a nice card congradulating us. The staff at the Bay field Inn and at the creamery pub. Were so welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were very clean. Best breakfast in town there. We were even invited to the annual Kentucky Derby party. The party was a bunch of fun and even had free hordevors. I just can't say enough about the staff at both places. In a world where you never know what your gonna get, these is places are a jewels. Great time I would recommend this to anyone I know.

We spent our 20th Anniversary over an extended weekend mid-September in one of the Andrew Tate condos. It was absolutely wonderful and worth the extra cost. We were greeted with a hand written note and a bottle of wine. The condo was clean, fully stocked with dishes and modern. The little deck off the condo is so fun. You can view main street, the Deck restaurant and the action on the water. Noise was not an issue as the bedroom is on the backside of the condo. Location is excellent. Minutes from the ferry, shops and all the restaurants. We parked and never moved the car except to go on a kayaking trip. We ordered a salad and peanut chicken sandwich at the Deck and both were excellent. Top notch customer service at front desk and at The Dock. Highly recommend.

Rooms are super clean, modern, quiet, and comfortable. View is perfect. Desk staff is attentive and friendly. Price is reasonable for what you get. Free, reserved parking a plus. Close to everything!

By far, the nicest, most comfortable and clean place I have ever stayed! The hospitality is First Class, the staff is friendly and welcoming.
The condo was fully equipped with every amenity and more. I would definitely return!

Rooms very nice clean recently updated , very friendly staff, great water views. Great rooftops deck with excellent food. Indoor restaurant has excellent breakfasts, avocado toast and eggs Benedict both tops.

Enjoyed the resturant. Would go back. Good food and nice view of the lake from the dinning room. They also a nice kid's menu and high chairs.

This is the cleanest hotel in which I have stayed in a very long time. Absolutely spotless! The rooftop bar is a most pleasant place to relax after a day of kayaking, site-seeing or shopping. The view of the harbor is nice and the breeze fresh and cool. The staff is professional and friendly.

Best place I have ever stayed at! Staff was very attentive, room was clean and comfortable with high class details to make our stay elegant and rich with history. The view on the lakeside was breathtaking! I will return!

I was incredibly impressed with the service and room quality during our stay. Since it was the off season, they upgraded us to a Lakeview room without additional charge. The restaurant was beautiful and service topnotch. Will definitely stay here again.

Great location and friendly service! We were able to walk almost anywhere we needed from the inn. The guest house was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Thanks for a great stay!

Stopped by for a drink at the rooftop bar after touring Madeline Island. Beautiful view of the bay, good service, and decent drink selection. Came back for dinner later in the day—even though the wait was long, it was clearly communicated. We got a sandwich and tacos, both were very good. Only recommendation would be to have a slide as an exit.

Amazing food and wonderful experience! My family absolutely loved how it was so COVID friendly. All tables were spaced 6ft and they gave you paper menus so you circled what you wanted and then turned it in. My burger was fantastic and the unique drinks were fun. Would highly recommend eating on the roof!

Wonderful place! The deck seating is the place to be with views looking out to Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands. My wife had the whitefish tacos and I had the whitefish sandwich and both were excellent. The only sore spot was the wait, but it was worth it. We did come at the peak of the lunch hour and I think at least 6 people put in orders right before we did. We will visit again!!

Wonderful place. Good food. Roof top bar. Beautiful scenery. Close to everything. Definitely come back.

Loved this place. Clean rooms, comfy beds, great food in the hotel's restaurant. Ate three meals there. The best one was served on their upper deck facing the waters of the great lake Superior. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who visits the Apostle Islands.

I would definitely stay here again! Fast, easy check-in. On-site parking. Room was a little smaller than modern rooms today, but.....who cares?! Microwave, mini fridge, air conditioning and comfy bedding.... it was perfect. Even a ground level room has a beautiful view!

The Restaurant and service are amazing!! We had the cheese curds for an appetizer. They were superb! For lunch we had the fish tacos which were mouth watering amazing!! The service was spectacular. I highly highly recommend this place!!
