Quite simply the most knowledgeable and technically competent bike shop I know. Have been a customer for over 25 years and never disappointed. They are straightforward, give the best advice, and - a rarity now - will fix things rather than just sell you an expensive replacement. Even though their new location is a nearly six-hour round trip, I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else.

We were rear-ended by a semi, damaging the two bikes on our rack. On our way to a week long bike tour, we needed repairs fast. Andrew carefully inspected our rides and replaced my bottom bracket and cranks, and replaced my friends front wheel. All done in under 2 hours while recommending places to eat and where to buy a tarp to replace our shattered rear window. Couldn't have asked for more!

If any store can be a mystical magical place, this is it! I have an old bike I bought for $5 that needed a new tire. My husband said no one would service that "piece of junk." I know nothing about bikes, I just love to ride mine back and forth to work. The owner (?) wasn't the least bit condescending. He was professional and polite. Even though he was wearing a charming dress suit, he carried my bike into the shop (kinda heavy, 80's Schwinn), and repaired it for less than $17. He was extremely knowledgeable and my jaw dropped as I looked about the shop. He never tried to sell me a new one, but, but just for kicks he let me lift an Italian carbon fiber bike and it was unbelievable. The vintage bikes and the stories to go along with them were also a treat. You won't regret stopping in, this is a unique and wonderful shop!

Great bike shop! Brought my daughter's bike in for simple repair. Repair guy was honest, price was VERY reasonable and the bike was done within 2 hours of dropping it off! I'll be taking all my bikes there for repair in the future!

I took an older bike in for new tires and a tune-up. It was completed within 30 minutes while I waited. The price was fair. Will definitely be back with any other bike repairs.

This is a very interesting shop that does a great job of supporting cool "off " brands but they're happy to help out with the mass market bikes too. I took my 2015 Trek Domane there yesterday. With about 6000 miles on it, the chain was stretched, the shifting was poor and the crank bearings were not working well. I dropped off the bike and within a few hours, they had it fixed up like new. Wow, what a difference it made to get these issues addressed! The bike now rides like new. The service has always been great for me and I appreciate that they take the time to answer my questions.

Awesome customer service!! I have a 1995 Ritchey P-22 that had a bent dropout from a minor car accident in 2001. The bike was out of commission since then. Finally after 20 years, took the frame in for Andrew to align and inspect the dropout. He fixed it and the dropout is straight as an arrow like the factory original. Andrew's knowledge and his wealth of bike information is awesome. The Ritchey is back on the trails and the magic is back. Highly recommended for frame repairs and any bike needs. Thank you!

I live near Chicago and have been going to Yellow Jersey since at least 2005. I have purchased a custom road bike and two sets of wheels from Yellow Jersey. This review is about the service, which is fantastic. When I want something fixed, I make the 2+ hour drive to Arlington because I know Tim will get it right. He listens to you and to your bike and when he fixes something, it really is fixed. I had some drive train components switched out recently and have been riding the bike for over a month since then. The bike shifts smoothly and is quiet as a church mouse. I can't recommend Yellow Jersey highly enough.

These guys worked a miracle on my bent Masi frame! Impeccable communication throughout the whole process, wicked quick turnaround and reasonable pricing. I’m so thankful I trusted them with this very special bike. Much love from Texas!

Quick, pleasant and educational people run this store.

The store was an old bank, converted into a bike shop.

The sticker prices of their own products don't stop them from respecting you and what you can afford. I found this out, when I took my bicycle in for service.

I would recommend taking a detour in this store.

The owner and tattoo man are very pleasant in conversation.

There is absolutely nothing they could have done better. They exceeded all expectations. Price was lower than previously used shops. Knowledge appears to be greater than any bike shop I used before. Explained and showed me what was wrong and also recommended how I can improve how I ride. Thank-you!

The owner is very friendly and helpful. Good stock on site and even more online. When he turned this old bank into a bike and accessories shop in brought some much needed culture and excitement to this little town. If you are a bike enthusiast, or even just a casual rider. I recommend taking the short drive to check it out.

Hands down, the best shop and mechanics I have ever dealt with in 20+ years of cycling. Andy knows his stuff and only sells products that he stands behind.

I was hit by a car while working as a messenger in Madison (where their old shop was located) back in maybe 2009. My frame was bent at the seatstays and chainstays. I assumed my bike was trash, but I took it in anyway. Andy told me that he would cut out the bent sections and braze/solder/weld in new stays for me and to come back to pick it up later that day. Not in a month. Not in a week. Not the next day. He was going to complete major frame repairs for me in the matter of a few hours. In the end, he was able to re-align the frame without any cutting, and my bike rode better than before the accident (fixed dropout alignment). I don't think he even charged me because he knew I was a broke college kid working as a messenger.

The 2 guys that run this shop are the best of the best. If your looking for old school parts, they have them or will find them! They are also top notch mechanics with lots and lots of experience. I took my bike all over trying to figer out the gearing and they were the only ones who could figure it out. They also have very reasonable with prices and will save you allot of money! TAKE ANY BIKE HERE AND IT WILL BE FIXED FAST AND RIGHT

This is an old school bike shop with integrity. If their motto isn't, "Drive a little, save a lot," it should be. These guys really know what they're doing when it comes to bikes, components, accessories, and repairs. Totally full service. And, if they need a second motto to choose from, they could choose, "You'd have to be crazy to shop anywhere else."

Fast service, knowledgeable staff and fair prices. Have had quite a few vintage bikes overhauled here and they ride like new now. Love this place.

I've never dealt with a business that takes more pride in customer service than Yellow Jersey.

I'm a bike guy. I have many bikes and in my years I've bought several fancy, expensive, carbon-fiber bikes from the likes of other Madison area stores like Machinery Row, Williamson, Budget, etc. My taste in bikes has refined to the point where I prefer riding high-end steel bikes.

In any case, don't expect to find a large selection of the latest gee-whiz plastic/carbon race bike at Yellow Jersey from the big-box manufacturers. But if you're looking for an around-the-town bike, a touring bike, tandem bike, or high-quality road bike that will stand the test of time and ride like a dream, definitely check out Yellow Jersey. The customer service is second to none. The owner has been doing this for 40 years and knows everything, is honest, and is fair. The mechanic is the best I've dealt with and can service anything.

Low key. Dependable, quality work. Good at explaining their assessments. They do not attempt to "upsell". Quality selection of bikes and bike related inventory. Trustworthy.

Very helpful putting a smooth tire for trainer use this winter.
The Trump poster hanging up was a little off putting but tolerance is what makes America great. That and supporting small local businesses.
