We have stayed twice and have had wonderful experiences both times. Cabins are always clean and well stocked. Even at the furthest cabin there’s good Wi-Fi. No worries about seeing your neighbors because there’s a wall of trees to give you privacy. Always plenty of hot water for the jet tubs. Great dining within an hour’s drive. Amazing state parks in the area. Makes for a great weekend stay. We will definitely be back!

I booked this romantic getaway for me and my now girlfriend I wanted a special place to make it official! Karl was very friendly and thorough with everything I failed to read everything in the envelope so I called him probably one too many times! Sorry Karl! This is definitely a place to remember as well as a place you’d want to return to. It was worth every penny and the nearly 3 hour drive! I would return and stay at each Chalet! We stayed in Chalet 3 which has all the games! It has a pool table, foosball, darts and some others. It’s a beautiful place to stay, the view is amazing completely secluded. The whirlpool & shower are absolutely amazing. Both nights it rained and stormed and the lightning looked so beautiful through the windows. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Thank you again for creating such a beautiful place!

I wish I could give this place more stars. My husband and I were looking for the perfect place to have an unplugged, relaxing anniversary trip. Percheron was that and more! We rented Chalet #3. The place was easy to find using Karl's directions, the office was quaint, and Karl gave us tips about the Chalet, and told us we could pack up the Jeep to drive back. He told us that he wouldn't come up unless we called. We were there during the week and it was absolutely peaceful, we only saw the woodland creatures (deer, birds, and eagles!). The jacuzzi and shower were amazing for relaxing and we played darts and pool for hours. Even though it snowed while we were there, we still grilled out and it was amazing. Every night we cuddled on the two person loveseat and watched a movie before heading off to bed. The quiet was unreal. Thank you for creating paradise, Karl and Tracy. I have already recommended this place to so many friends. If you want a relaxing, people free, worry free vacation...check out Percheron!

We booked Chalet 3 for a New Year getaway and long weekend. The property is so beautiful. Went for a hike through the 200 hilly wooded area and saw several deer. The hot tub, pool table, fooseball table and dart board made our time extra fun. You truly feel like you are secluded in our own little cabin in the woods. Would definitely stay here again. PS...if Karl offers the Jeep for easier access...take him up on it. 😉

We just spent a beautiful weekend at Chalet 5. The weather was cold and it was snowing; it only made it more cozier and the surroundings more beautiful. We had a full-size kitchen and we only went out for one meal (Badger Pub-recommend) because we were anxious to get back and relax and enjoy the views and peacefulness.
Carl and Tracy were great hosts and we came away feeling like we had known them forever. They did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Their goal is to make sure you relax and unwind during your stay. Great couple!
The chalet is very clean and the bed very comfortable. I promise you will come home rested 😊
If you want to get away from it all; this is the place. We hope to go back for another quiet and restful visit.

This place is amazing!! So secluded, and relaxing, we stayed in chalet 3 which has a pool table as well. We didnt even want to leave, we will definitely be returning. They literally have everything for you, we didnt leave at all. The hot tub was so relaxing, and the wooded area with all the deer was beautiful. Cant wait for pir next trip. Thanks so much to the owners who were so helpful and nice, they felt like family, maybe next time we'll get to meet their puppy dog. Definitely would recommend!!

The wife and I stayed here for our first anniversary, and I can only say wow. What an amazing place. We stayed in the bungalow and it was nothing short of amazing. From complete privacy to complete serenity this place is amazing. Very romantic to sit on the porch at night, where its just you and your loved one to enjoy everything about each other and nature. Peaceful as can be. Nature is everywhere, and is amazing to watch. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Absolutely incredible. Karl did an amazing job making sure we had everything we needed and answered all of our questions. He goes out of his way to make sure everything is taken care of up.fro t so your stay can be distraction free from the time you arrive until the time you leave. Nestled in the bluffs with amazing views. I can't say enough about this hidden paradise.

My wife and I love visiting this part of Wisconsin and this place just added another reason we love it. We will definitely be coming back again.
We enjoyed most everything about this place. The building and porch. The scenery. The peacefulness. The alone time (except the few times Cosmo the dog joined us). The cell signal was even good for those few times we broke down to "reconnect" with the rest of the world.
Reserving the place was more challenging than other places we’ve stayed, but it was definably worth the effort. Personally, we had everything we needed to enjoy our time at #1 Bungalow, but if you're looking at that building, here are tips that may help you enjoy your stay more:
1. There is no stove or oven. Only a gas grill with a burner outside and a microwave inside. I guess this is the only building on the property like this, so choose a different building if indoor cooking is important to you.
2. The fridge is a small hotel-sized one, so bring a cooler if you need lots of space.
3. They might have extra quilts/blankets on hand during colder months, but we didn't see them so I’d recommend asking or bringing your own if you like them to wrap up and feel cozy.
4. The chairs on the back porch aren't built for comfort, so unless you like metal “waffle” chairs I recommend bringing your own to enjoy the porch.
5. The TV tech is from early 2000s at best – Tube projection TV, DirecTV, a DVD player and a VCR. Leave anything that uses HDMI or USB cables at home. As a matter of fact, just leave the TV off and enjoy being disconnected from the world. :)

Went for a birthday getaway this weekend with. The rentals are secluded from all other rentals, on glorious land and have everything you need. Phone service is a little low in the area which is amazing to get away from normal day life. We enjoyed the jetted 2 person tub which was very large and comfortable., played a lot of pool, darts and board games and watched moves before falling sleep in the warm with looking at the moon in the large windows. I will defiantly be back to enjoy these resort like cabins in the future. I would HIGHLY recommend!

My husband and I won Karl and Tracy's recent Veteran giveaway. We redeemed our stay last night and this morning we didn't want to leave! The bungalow is tucked deep in the rolling hills on their 200 acre property ... to say this place is romantic would be an understatement! We began our night by enjoying grilled ribeye and a glass of wine on the wrap around deck. Cosmo, the family dog, joined us to celebrate my husband's birthday dinner. He stayed for a belly scratch and then headed on down the trail back home. Then we snuggled inside and talk about the things that get lost in the daily hustle and bustle of everyday life. It was the perfect way to unwind and disconnect from distractions. We cannot thank Karl and Tracy enough for their generosity and hospitality. The world needs more simple, laid back and kind-hearted people like them. We stopped by their home this morning to say our goodbyes and were easily lost in good conversation. Wonderful people!

Frank and I thoroughly enjoyed our Labor Day weekend stay! The secluded cabin was romantic and peaceful and allowed us to finally relax! From the many games we played, to the two person jacuzzi and shower, it was more than we could have asked for! Thank you for thinking of everything and your humble hospitality! We will venture out again to experience another romantic weekend!

Back again after one year. Last year we celebrated our anniversary here. This year we are back to celebrate my 55th birthday. A place to come and disappear from the crazy world. The only one that comes to visit is Cosmo, the resident black lab. You see no other human, the reason you come here. Peace, solitude, nature...
Absolutely love this place!💜
Bungalow #1 is all we need.

This was the perfect place for our honeymoon! Our cabin was nestled in the woods for complete privacy. The owners are wonderfully kind and we enjoyed our visits from Cosmo, the black lab. Our cabin was beautifully set up and super cozy. We will be back!

Where to begin?
I am so glad to have been referred to this amazing place of tranquility. You know you’re in for an adventure as soon as hubby shifts to 4x4. From that moment on, you’re in for an evening of true isolation. I’m talking all windows open in nothing but a loosely tied, plush robe. Our cabin (chalet 3) was BEAUTIFUL. Everywhere you happen to glance, there’s something new to take in that is so thoughtful. This place has everything you could need- down to picnic baskets and a lovely board game set. It is impossible to be bored. One thing I particularly appreciated is the clear efforts made in knocking down spider webs regularly. The only thing I was uncertain about when booking was the bug situation (the arachnophobia is real!), but there was no need to worry, as it is clearly maintained so well. Between the amazingly designed space, endless thoughtful touches, and no cut-corners approach to maintenance and up-keep, I honestly feel that this rental is of a great value. Every relationship needs nurturing, and this is the ultimate place to do just that. If you don’t leave with a smile on your face, you may not be human! Thanks so much, we can’t wait to be back next year!

My wife and I just stayed at Chalet 2 over the memorial weekend. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. The owners, Karl and Tracy, were friendly, helpful, and just darn pleasant to talk to.

If you're looking for a fancy resort with all the up-to-date modern amnesties, this is not your place. If you're looking for a comfortable and romantic place to be alone - this is the place for you. After we checked in all we saw were the wildlife. You were truly left alone unless you called to ask for something.

Chalet 2 had a great whirlpool tub the comfortably fit both of us, plus a shower room with 2 shower heads. It has an older CRT TV but also a DVD/VCR, Satellite TV, and sound system. Not that you need any of those items to enjoy the peace, the quiet, and your significant other.

It was a joy to be there and a fantastic experience. It's close to La Crosse, Sparta, and Tomah making it ideal for us to drop our kids off at the grandparents and high tail it to some relaxing peace just the two of us. Thanks to Karl and Tracy for helping making our 10 year anniversary special.

Leave your cell phones at home and get your relationship bonded again. You will never regret it.

We enjoyed our stay at this slice of heaven set in the forest. We had everything we needed. It was refreshing to not be distracted by WiF, television, and civilization. We had a quiet, peaceful, and intimate weekend - just what we wanted.
