Food was good and had a lot of beer on tap! We played a few of the slot machines there a won as well. It was just the beginning of our week long trip passing through to get to Sheboygan. It was a good rest stop to regroup and get food in us!

Great place, good food. We will be back if we're in the area. Jerry the waiter was the best.

We have left several reviews as this is our favorite local spot for drinks, but honestly the food brings us back! One of the best hidden gems for great food in Portage. Check out the daily specials as neat stuff pops up all the time. Plus they have trivia. Tara the owner is so friendly and her staff is awesome.

Great homemade food! Definitely worth the extra two minute drive past the fast food chains from highway.

I ordered the fish fry for me and my wife last night, bluegill and perch carry out. I remembered a story incorrectly so I thought my wife liked bluegill. I was wrong, very wrong.

I called back and placed an order for Cod to pick up to fix my screw up. I was explaining why I was back when I picked up my order the second time, and they ended up recognizing me. They were nice enough to cover the cost for this when I was fully prepared to pay.

My wife was very happy and liked the cod quite a bit. I ended up eating the bluegill and perch. Turns out I don’t like them either, but I don’t think that it’s because of the bar.

Will definitely come back for fish fry again the cod was really good. Service was great even when busy as I assume all fish fry restaurants are.

While this place may be a bit basic on the outside, don’t let that deter you! After a busy day of skiing, we were looking for a filling meal for four out-of-towners, and Jack’s Tap did not disappoint. On top of the laid back, casual atmosphere, the food was absolutely fantastic. Between four meals, all four of us had nothing but compliments to say. The meat was so well prepared and full of flavor. The beer battered fries were also done very well just to add to to the foodie experience. Would highly recommend and hope to be back!

My wife and I ordered carryout tonight from Jacks. She had the wings with brew city fries and I ordered the cowboy burger with brew city fries. Both were delicious.

The only thing we could suggest is adding some seasoning to the wings.

Service was top notch, prices are great and place seemed clean.

We'll definitely be coming back.

We often carry out from Jack's and the food is always fresh and delicious. The wings are big and delicious with many dipping options. We had the pizza tonight and it was the best pizza we've had in a long time. The thin crust was perfectly crispy and we enjoyed the square cut. The toppings were fresh and plentiful (sausage was my favorite). The blend of spices, sauce, and cheese really made this pie delicious. The staff is friendly and the service is great. We love this place! Thank you and great job!

The pizza here is absolutely incredible! The staff is incredibly friendly, there is an occasional wait at rush times but that is to be expected with any business. The building itself is very well kept, and has a very warm and welcoming feel to it. Will be taking my family and friends here often!

Coming back from hunting we needed a quick spot to eat. This place caught my eye for some reason. Went in and got an immediate feeling of a good spot. Bartender quickly gave us some attention and made our food in a quick fashion. Burgers were great and we had no complaints at all. Only critique I have is that it’s a cash only place. With that being said, this place is amazing and we’ll be coming back.

Awsome old fashions, bartender and staff were great! Baked fish with drawn butter was marvelous, cheesy potatoes could have been a little thicker but was very tasty, we'll be back and recommend to others.

Best bar in Portage! Lots of craft beer choices, which I appreciate. Really good burgers and nachos. They were trying out some new appetizers and passed them around for us to try. How great is that. You won't be disappointed.

Walked in and was greeted and told to have a seat anywhere. I went in for the fish fry and it was sooo yummy. Came with a complimentary dessert drink which was also yummy. Friendly service that checks on you more than most places. Will come again to try other foods!

Ordered a carry out pizza and wings. I arrived and my order was running 15 minutes behind (Not a big deal to me at all). The bartender gave me a free beer while I waited and gave me 1/2 off my order for the wait! Their food is great and I can't believe this! They went over and above for an already happy customer 😎

The food was amazing!!!! We had a pizza, cowboy burger, jacked up nachos, and brew fries. Everything was cooked perfect! Our waitress was amazing even with our rowdy kids.

Just started working there today and it was fish fry Friday. Good food, a full bar if you're a drinker, gaming and friendly atmosphere all around. Highly recommended for connisuers of all ages and children are allowed and welcomed. See you there!

Would recommend! We hopped off an amtrak, strolled nover and met our family there for a trip t o points north, their loaded BLT was amazing, we also scarfed down 2 Orders of cheese curds.

Food was excellent! Pick up food for your train trip. Fast friendly service.Across the street from the Portage Wisconsin Amtrack stop. Food service begins at 10 am CST. Plenty of seating in dining room or bar area. Varied menu with a lot of choices, salad & wraps, soup & chili, along with burgers, pizza, sandwiches and some unique appetizers.

Fish fry was fantastic, baked or deep-fried with some cajun seasoning. Cheesy hashbrowns had some kick too. Topping it off was a grasshopper-like ice cream drink. Great service and very fast. Wish we didn't live 100 miles away!

The food at Jack's tap is great. Try the fig mule. Best mule I've had. It's sweeter than most but mmmmmm. Highly recommended. The blue fill fish fry was delicious. We are repeat customers.
