Their selection of dark coffees is impressive. I tried their signature dark roast, and it was a revelation. The depth of flavor, with hints of chocolate and a smooth finish, was truly remarkable. They also offer an array of coffee blends from different regions, and local.

We are very fortunate to have John Joseph coffee in our community - it’s just the best. Due to health reasons I need to drink half/caf and it’s so nice to be able to choose my favorite grounds to blend rather than big store off the shelf with only one choice. I also love being able to buy fresh coffee at an affordable price.

Best coffee roasters in the area! Don't be put off by the unassuming exterior, once you step inside John Joseph Coffee you're greeted with a friendly Midwest chic atmosphere, smelling of the delicious fresh roasted coffee beans that are sold here. They always have a pot ready to go if you're just in need of a refreshing cup of coffee, but I would find it difficult to leave without some Bold Eagle beans for myself at home. There is limited seating but for a small group of friends this would be a nice place to relax and play some of the available board games.

I truly can't recommend their coffee enough.

John really cares about the coffee he roasts, and he cares even more about people within this community. He's a delightful guy!

On top of that, the coffee is amazing. I tend to go for a lighter roast and I grind my beans at home. I pick up what I need as I need it - but there is always a wide variety of roasts available, sourced responsibly and sustainability from all around the world.

Great friendly service. The coffee flavors are terrific! Periodically have special blends for fundraisers. $1 for a cup of coffee. No espressos, cappuccinos, etc. There is a pinball machine there too

Great, local, family-owned coffee roaster. The interior is a relaxing place to get away from the busy workday, meet friends, and enjoy one of their coffee blends. They have whole bean or ground beans to go, roasted on site (which is the meat and bones of the business), perfect for the parent of a 2 year old, who needs that boost in the morning. Multiple blends available. They have excellent cold brew in the warmer months that beats Starbucks cold brew in taste and quality. One of the nicest families in the Sauk Prairie Area.

If you're driving through Sauk City/Prairie du Sac and wondering where to get a fresh roasted coffee, this little gem is only one block off Water Street and is well worth a stop. It's unique and warm in terms of coffee, vibe, and people.

Update: since first writing this review, we've subscribed to their "Regular Joe" subscription. Free delivery in town. We paid for a pound per week for a year. Best whole beans in the area. Well worth it.

A great local spot and wonderful small shop serving up a great selection of bagged whole bean coffee and hot coffee to go or stay. I love that we finally have a place that stamps a roast date on their beans, and their fresh brewed coffee tastes exceptional.

An incredibly inviting place set up for conversations or small meetings. The Nitro cold coffee was out of this world! John is extremely friendly and has truly grown this business from the ground up. I will absolutely be back - next time I'm trying the popular grounds to make taste that wonderful flavor at home. A true hidden gem in our city. If you haven't stopped in - what are you waiting for?

The best coffee ive ever had. He brews one kind and to buy a cup it's only $1! Can't beat that! He was very knowledgeable and welcoming. The only place I'll buy coffee grounds from now!
