Jane Addams Trailhead

The surface is well suited for both biking and walking. It's nice and wide and safe. There's plenty of parking at the trail heads in Orangeville and Freeport. A majority of the trail is shady as you go north.

Flat, easy running trail that is well maintained. Really enjoyed my run along here. Decent amount of shade as well.

Welcome to Jane Adams Trail, Which is solely funded by The Freeport Park District, nobody that actually uses the trail help pay for it, and creates a huge deficit every year maintaining the trail.
Out of state traffic from wisconsin bikers can use it for free, btw they charge money to ride your bike the second you cross the stateline onto the Badger state trail. you need a sticker to ride over the state line!
The trail doesnt generate any money to make it better, you can run snowmobiles, electric bicycles, horses, you can walk on the trail. Bring your dog of course. It really doesnt generate anything for the communities it passes through.
It winds around huge areas of mosquito invested bottom grounds , there is no camping allowed on the trail,
The trail is open 24 hours !
Although always remember to hike and ride using the Buddy system, never go alone at night! Unless you are fully confident you can do that or if your packing. Its probly pretty safe.
Feral Dogs , Timberwolves and Moutain Lions have been spotted in the area, along with a occassional Black Bear! and or kidnappers and child molesters! Remember i said Buddy System!!!

Great trail. Free. Just had doe and two fawns bounce the trail in front of me yesterday. Glad to see them drill well at trailhead, many people hav asked me if they could get water there.

Love riding on the Jane Addams Trail. Wonderfully maintained trail with many beautiful sites along the way...

No parking. 😕I have no doubt the trail is awesome. We thought that a trail head might have parking options...

Man this trail went downhill. It got flooded last year. It was funded and redone. Before it was a 4 to 5 star trail, now it's a 1 star. Loose gravel, tons of branches, huge rocks, good luck not getting a flat. I've done this trail probably a hundred times in the past, sad it went to hell. They only care about the snowmobiles, so if you bike, avoid it.
