Mad Charlie’s Cafe is a gem! Great food and espresso. Interesting building and nice atmosphere. Has outdoor seating. Easy to access from Badger State Trail.

So, so good! Every time! Great coffee, the most amazing pastries, healthy organic food options from local farmers, friendly staff, and an awesome, relaxed atmosphere. I love to come here to visit with friends, work on my laptop, or have a breakfast date with my husband after visiting the farmers market. Definitely recommend. :)

Best mocha I've ever had, tasty breakfast sandwich, cute environment. We live the next town over and already have decided we'll make this cafe a regular destination.

Love this place; best coffee shop in Monroe. Amazing egg sandwiches, + smoothies, pastries, coffee + tasty alternatives and if you're lucky enough to be in when they are serving their mini cakes you must try one (the carrot cake is especially delicious-- the best I've ever had). Friendly staff too.

An amazing place to sit, chat with dear friends and enjoy a truly special menu. The bacon and dried tomato salad alongside a slice of spinach mushroom quiche was perfect, and my friend said the tomato basil soup was delicious. This time we went for the healthy; next time...pastries look out!!! Thanks to the wonderful staff who allowed us to linger and enjoy our experience!

What a lovely addition off the Monroe square with coffee bar drinks, fresh pastries, soups, salads and a lovely hash brown crusted quiche. A large dining area very quaint in different rooms with even a kids room with a large blackboard and things to entertain kids while parents sit and relax. Great concept! There is also an artist who gives painting classed and someone refills your coffee during the class.

I haven’t had anything here I don’t like! All their pastries, soups, salads, and pasties do not disappoint! The coffee and smoothies are also a treat. My kids and I appreciate the kid’s area. It’s a nice space to bring a board game and relax.

My Husband and I went to Mad Charlie's Cafe Saturday morning and had a Bacon and Artichoke pizza by the slice, roasted coffee and split a Pecan Danish. Can't tell you how we enjoyed every morsel. We had actually came to get some of the sweet rolls I have been hearing about around town. They would be ready at 8:30, we took 2 home and were amazed of the soft texture, loaded with frosting and every bite lived up to Monroe's word around town.

Yummy coffee and muffin. Funky little place with limited menu. Order, pay and they bring it to your table. Today we had broccoli and cheddar quiche and a latte. Yummy and warm.

Haven't tried any food yet but I'm picky about mochas and they do a great job. Not many independently owned do typically so I really appreciate that they do such a good job here.

Such a cute little quiet café. Warm, inviting ambience. Indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a separate area for families with children to enjoy. Would recommend!

This is a great addition to the Monroe Wi community! My wife and I have eaten here a few times for breakfast! Each and everytime we have been more then happy with the food and service! What a cool place offering lots of room inside and outside for breakfast and lunch! All items are made daily and have been fresh and full of flavor. The little town of Brodhead has been fortunate to have a cafe that rivals any espresso bar in Chicago and puts about any big city bakery to shame with their amazing pastries. Bonus feature: you can park a semi right in front if you're early, and be back on the road in 3 minutes flat with an amazing caffeine fix. Apparently they're planning a move to Monroe which is really unfortunate for the community and for me since I drive through regularly and will be switching back to gas station coffee. I'll miss you Half-Way Cafe!! And I'll be watching for you in Monroe!!

Mad Charlie's is a great cafe. The food is good, the staff is very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and homey.

Excellent service and they didn’t flinch when I asked for a London Fog. The cinnamon roll was delicious - light and flaky with creamy icing. One of the best I have ever had!

I eat here every time I'm back in town. Excellent gluten-free options & good coffee!

Great restaurant with amazing coffee! Great to see a small town restaurant using locally sourced products such as lamb and vegetables. Small and very clean with amazingly nice staff.
