The Cotter Pin

Staff: The staff greeted us when we walked in. Immediately we were approached with menus and our drink orders were taken. After what seemed like a second we had our drinks and our orders were in.

Building: building is spacious and very well taken care of. The bathrooms are clean.

Food: Good was amazing. The boneless BBQ wings were perfectly cooked. The Habanero bone in wings had great flavor and were the perfect amount of spice. I joke that I won’t eat anything hotter than water, but I ate these and didn’t regret it. But, what is the best thing ever was the appetizer, Juusto. We each order one, the regular, bacon, and the Parmesan. The Parmesan was perfectly flavored. Essentially it’s a cubed up block of cheese with flavors made within in. I am glad we got three orders. One order per person was about right. We were all grown, hungry dudes, so take that into consideration. Lastly, any of their Mac and cheese meals are good.

Parking: plenty of parking.

Star rating: 5 because of the price, the staff, and the amazing food.

I am stopping here every time I pass through!

The food and service were great. Nice location only a few minutes from our campground and Sparta. We order a few types of wings and chili cheese dogs. The spur cream and onion wings were the best! The online menu showed the wings were full wing, and when we got them, they were not the fill wing.

We found The Cotters Pin as a recommendation while staying at Justin Trails Resort. They have a large menu and many specific to Wisconsin items like a large menu of Mac and Cheese options.

Lots of beer options, including local. If in the area this is probably your best dining option.

I was in the area for work for several weeks. I often try to sample various places to eat wherever I am working. That being said, it is rare that I find it necessary to leave a review. 3 times I stopped here to eat. First visit: The Cuban was not what I would consider a great "Cuban" sandwich, but it was a fantastic sandwich nonetheless. 2nd visit: I tried the Rueben and the 3rd time I had the Beef and Cheddar. Each time expecting it to be not as good as the previous. After 3 visits, it is my honest belief that their is nothing on their menu that is less than fantastic! Portions are perfectly satisfying without making you feel uncomfortable. It was not very busy each time I was there, service was quick and food was promptly delivered! If you are in the area, it is worth the stop!

Excellent service. Not only did my server check in frequently, the cook also checked in with me to make sure my food was okay. I had the Reuben which was really good. The bread was nice and crisp, not the least bit soggy. I also had a bloody mary and had a choice of flavored vodkas. Dill, garlic, bacon or plain and I chose the dill.

OUTSTANDING staff! Including David the server we had... His. 2nd day on job and very cordial and polite. Hope you keep him on staff for day 3 LOL Pizza and cheese cubes are delicious 😋 Figured out how I could attach the pictures from the previous post I did!!

Great place in a charming little town. Food and service was awesome. Menu has lots of great choices without being overwhelming. I was most impressed by the staff encouraging customers to go check out the local chicken dinner to support the all access/ability playground. Will go back for sure.

Went here a few times this past weekend while we were in Sparta. We REALLY enjoyed the food and they had plenty of space for our big party. The staff was amazing. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area

Friendly staff, very clean and nicely decorated. Cuban sandwich was very good.

Great food and service! I recommend this restaurant. We had the fish special today. It was delicious and came with great sides (cheesy potatoes, a bread roll and corn on the cob). Additionally, I thought our meal was very affordable considering the high quality of the food.

This little jem is a family-friendly bar with a creative chef in the kitchen. Keep an eye out for the specials.

Had a fantastic meal at the Cotter Pin last night! We were looking for a new place to try and this fit the bill. Even as we walked in from the parking lot there was a very nice gentleman that held the door open for us (the owner maybe?). Charter had gone out so they didn't have TVs or card machine but the ATM still worked. The prime rib for us and pizza for the kids was excellent! The atmosphere was great and everyone working there was SO friendly and nice! We're definitely going back!

Nice atmosphere and really good food! My favorite is the Reuben sandwich but I've never had anything I didn't like. They also have a great selection of local gifts to purchase.

We happened upon this local bar/grill when on vacation and not really knowing what was in the area...and we hit the jackpot. Service was so friendly, my husband and son enjoyed playing pool and other games, beer list was excellent, lots of menu choices, and the food was really fresh and delicious. We visited a total of 3 time during our two-day Sparta stay. My son may demand the two hour drive for more pizza fries!

I love stopping here in my way through town! The food is great and the service is fantastic. I always feel so at home when I have a chance for a visit.
