Nice hike that is easy to moderate. Mostly easy with trail having tree roots to avoid tripping over. One moderate trail to lookout that has steps and if taking a lightly used trail back that has a short drop down a rock ledge. Trails are natural ground with some covered with gravel. Can be muddy after rains. Use Google map as only signs are on US Highway 12 and entrance to park. State park pass required. Sign at park shows tables and restrooms, but must be seasonal as they were not there when we visited in February.

Wisconsin’s Largest Natural Bridge/Arch 🤩

😮 this natural arch is located in the “Driftless Area of Southwestern Wisconsin” ❄ meaning….this natural bridge was not glaciated during the last Ice Age & is still standing strong today!

🤩 Quick Facts 🤩
• archeologists found charred wood in fire pits underneath this natural bridge that dates as far back as 12,000 years 😮
• this is a 530 acre state park with lots of beauty…but stay on the trails!! ‼
• the trail to the natural bridge is quick & easy! Bring your family ❤🫶🏼
• there are no trash cans…keep your trash on you!! 🚮
• this spot is located very close to the House on the Rock 🪨

📌 add this spot to your list of Things To Do in Wisconsin!

Such a cool place. Nice hike, but narrow trails in spots. Options for shorter or longer hike in both woods and prairie.

Beautiful place to wonder around and enjoy some nature. A little more crowded than I thought it would be, but still fun nonetheless. The leaves were beautiful mid October when I went!

Just off of Rt 12, 15 minutes from Devils Lake State Park lies a natural gem. There is a parking lot off of County Route C. The trail is fairly marked. After following the path for 0.6 miles you will come upon the rock formation. Nestled in the forest lies the natural bridge with a cave underneath. I recommend doing adding this location to any itinerary that includes Wisconsin Dells and Baraboo.

Natural Bridge State Park is a picturesque nature preserve located in North Freedom, Wisconsin. The park is named after the natural bridge, which is a striking arch rock formation. The bridge was created by the erosion of the underlying sandstone and is considered to be a geological marvel. Native American Indians regarded the natural bridge a place for worship, as the rock arch was regarded as the work of the Great Spirit. Beneath the arch is a excavated rock-shelter which was inhabited by Paleo Indians. Truly one of the most sacred places in Sauk County to preserve.

Ample parking, not many people there while we visited. Short walk that is family friendly to the natural bridge. Well groomed trails. Dog friendly.

Such a cool spot with overlooked or under appreciated history! The hike to bridge maybe takes 10 minutes, slight uphill climb but super manageable for most people! The rock formation is super impressive. It’s a amount of cluster of outcrops and small bluffs, and the main loop takes you by most of them in the small valley. Indigenous peoples inhabited the area some 10,000 years ago and continued to for thousands of years! Just one hour from Madison, another amazing Wisconsin hike!!

A pretty good little hike, worth it for the Natural Bridge. One little spur/loop, so to speak, off of the main trail near the Natural Bridge does require some scrambling, more or less. I recommend doing the whole, large loop (takes maybe 1 - 1.5 h...without many stops). Caution: doing the entire loop requires crossing a 2-lane highway. Please be careful!

Great place to wander around and explore. The view at the lookout would be better early in the spring before the trees have leaves or perhaps late in the fall with leaves in full color. The natural bridge is fantastic and takes you back to an earlier time in history. The trails were slightly overgrown with thorns from berries, so long pants and sleeves are not a bad idea.

Small walk in a wood to see the bridge. Good trails to walk but some areas are hard to walk as a trail. It's is covered by bushes

Oh man, what an experience. Its a fair walk up hill, with tree branches forming the steps. Not for the faint of heart, it was a pretty hard climb for us. But it was worth it!! The arch is beautiful and the outcropping under it is amazing. Unfortunately, some people felt the need to leave their mark by carving into the stone. Its truly a glimpse into Wisconsin's long ago past, perhaps even possible those ancient peoples that sheltered there hunted wooly mammoths. It really was worth the walk even for us old folks.

Amazing hike! From the parking lot we went left and did the big loop. We ended at the natural bridge which was like desert. Good ups and downs, perfect for our 4 and 8 year olds.

We were all time travelers at the Natural Bridge State Park in Wisconsin. Everytime you glanced at the forest, the trail and the unique rock formations, you were getting a glimpse of the ancient past and Native-American tribes who travelled these pathes of natural of wonder.

Small park with about four miles of trails, so sort of a once and done type of place, but does have some interesting rocks. Not super well cared for.

This is a pretty park with small but clean and easily navigated trails. The hike to the bridge is short with no difficult areas, I'd recommend it for everyone!

Natural Bridge State Park... more like Neatural Bridge State Park! Pretty cool SMALL state park with a natural arch that would be particularly interesting to those with geological interests. Worth checking off your Wisconsin Travel Bucket List with a short visit.

Small and lightly visited State Park with some interesting trails. Nothing fancy, just a couple miles of trails and a small parking lot. Lots of wildflowers.

Small park with some good trails and geocaches. The trails were muddy but that's to be expected in March and we came prepared. A few trail forks didn't have maps. Take a drive down the nearby rustic roads!
