This is my favorite place to eat in Midway and probably the best pork chop I’ve ever had. The scallops were cooked perfectly too. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Our server, Gretchen, was also on top of everything making it an even more enjoyable experience. The espresso martini was delicious, in my top three of all time. If you’re in midway you don’t want to miss out on this place. 10/10

We booked a reservation for our anniversary after having lunch here a while back and had a wonderful time!!! They do also take walk-ins so a reservation isn't necessary but I'd recommend it just to be sure they have a spot for you and it's a great way to give the staff a heads up with any dietary restrictions. The staff was incredibly helpful in modifying menu items for a vegan and were happy to do so. Everything we had was expertly prepared and visually stunning. You should note that this is absolutely a fine dining experience so it will be more expensive than your average restaurant but considering the quality of the dishes, the ingredients used, the skill required to prepare them, and the portion sizes it's definitely well worth the money but even then the prices aren't as high as other places that severely lack the atmosphere and menu creativity. As a twenty year chef, I have zero complaints and will absolutely be returning. Brilliant work and if I could give more stars I would readily do so. Thank you all so much for a wonderful evening.

Sincerely,

D.B. Spade

Absolutely phenomenal restaurant! Small intimate setting, great atmosphere, amazing staff, and INSANELY GOOD FOOD!
I had the shrimp and grits (have a great flavor and spice but ARE NOT SPICY - Perfection), mussels were killer (and I’ve never eaten mussels but would eat them every day from here), bread with the bourbon spread - chefs kiss 🤌🏽, Hibiscus-Basil Lemonade - left me without words! Crème Brulee with an Espresso- perfect way to end the meal! 10/10 would recommend to anyone coming through who wants phenomenal food with a serene atmosphere!

Went for lunch on a cold Saturday. Place was quiet except for group at table behind us. Loud talkers ruined atmosphere a bit. Deviled eggs were perfect. Really wanted soup, they had mushroom. It was good, but their carrot is still our favorite, followed by the butternut squash soup. My entree was the warm goat cheese salad with Salmon. Salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned and delicious. Salad was good as always. Husband got the Mary burger and fries. News fries are bigger and breaded and we both liked them better.

Can't wait to go back on another cold Saturday.

The best. Heirloom has been consistently the best restaurant since 2006. It never disappoints. Lexington has great restaurants but Midway is the quintessential KY town and Heirloom is the Midway gem. Gretchen never disappoints with the superb service.

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. The drive from Lexington was absolutely beautiful, adding to the overall enjoyment of the visit. The menu offers a delightful blend of unique and traditional dishes, including the classic favorite of fried chicken. The standout items for me were the beet salad and the Okinawa sweet potatoes, both of which were simply amazing. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience that exceeded my expectations. The town is very cute as well!

Cheerful Hostess greeted us upon arrival! Glasses already watered and butter on the table. Server brought us a basket of assorted breads with a raspberry balsamic. A hot spot for locals & super swanky! Loved all the decor and atmosphere. Music fit all genres. We started with the potato & leek soup and a spinach craisen salad. Delicious! Chef put did himself on both presentation & deliciousness! We shared the Red Snapper with mouth watering carrots 🥕 & we added a side of seasonal mushrooms & whipped Yukon potatoes. The house Pinot Grigio complimented our entire experience! Well done Lisa in your recommendations! You allowed us to be guided by you! Desert menu had a S’mores & an Expresso Martinis that we finished off our evening with! Keep doing great things & we will see you again on our adventures in your area! You made our two year anniversary super memorable! Thank you!

Dinner before drive home...
Started off with the Autumn Bisque and Fried Chicken Livers. Autumn Bisque was outstanding! Great flavors and the cinnamon croutons brought it all together. Chicken livers were done well.
Fried chicken for entree, wife and I split and they took care of this for us so that is why portion may look smaller in picture. Chicken was extremely juicy and very crisp on the outside! Highly recommend.
Service was outstanding.

The food was wonderful. Menu was creative while maintaining staples of southern cuisine. Atmosphere was professional and clean, all with a nice small town vibe. Don’t sleep on the chicken livers! Drinks weren’t amazing would be the only critique.

Today my Father and I drove from Lexington to try Heirloom for the first time. It was suggested to us by a friend. I can’t say enough about our waitress. Her name is Gretchen and she was so polite and welcoming. There’s just something about her that makes you feel safe and nurtured/cared for. The food was excellent. I had the Deviled Eggs followed by The Mary Burger add bacon. My Father had the Soup De Jour….(dumb & dumber lol) [broccoli cheddar] which was followed up with Fish and Chips. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. I’d like to try the Bee Sting next time. I noticed that online the toppings include bee pollen yet on the in-house menu, bee pollen is not included under the Bee Sting Flatbread toppings. I was going to ask if it had changed but I forgot to. The atmosphere was great. Settled on a tiny quaint central Kentucky Main Street that includes a Drugstore Soda Fountain a few doors down @ Railroad Drug Store. If you are a history buff, the pharmacy has a script journal from 1885 on display that was dug out of an old house. It’s worth the look. I’ll include a picture from the restaurant and the book.

Thank you Heirloom & Gretchen for such a wonderful Friday lunch. We had a pleasant time and plan on returning soon. Low key, our experience had my Father talking about looking for property in Midland he loved your all’s restaurant and Main Street so much.

Great food, decent wine list, sluggish but friendly service on a Tuesday early evening. Only three servers and a full house inside and out, so there was quite a wait to order food and a long wait for our first courses and then a long wait for entrees. Desserts came out faster.

I can’t say enough good about this restaurant. The atmosphere was very cozy and well decorated. The bread they brought out was the best I’ve had at a restaurant. The shrimp and grits were perfect, the steak was perfect and the scallops and French fries were amazing. This is the best restaurant I’ve been to in the Lexington area.

5-stars all the way around. This restaurant on Main St in Midway KY has the most delicious food! The cocktails were amazing as well. Gretchen our server was so attentive and thoughtful, she knew the menu backwards and forwards and what to recommend. She also put a candle in my dessert to wish me a happy birthday! And the atmosphere, we ate outside and watched the sunset over Main St and all the lights come on the street while enjoying our meal. While expensive, you won’t regret dining here for a special occasion.

This is a sweet little gem of a restaurant in the historic town of Midway, KY. The decor feels very chic and upscale. The lunch menu was full of wonderful options that included lots of updated traditional comfort food. They also have an extensive wine list and cocktails. We had the Bee Sting Flatbread pizza, a french onion grilled cheese sandwich, and some wonderful deviled eggs.
Everything tasted very good and we would definitely return for another lunch or dinner!

Excellent service and food. Wide selection of bourbon from nearby distilleries. Filet was cooked perfectly and the fried green tomatoes were some of the best I've ever tried.

The place was wonderful, mine and my wife's first time there. They stayed busy all evening but were never flustered, at least if so they never showed it, the entire evening. The service was excellent, no hurrying of unnecessary interpretation, but always appearing at the right time. The food was spectacular. Flavorful without being overstated. All in all a great experience. We will return.

We visited Heirloom for the first time during this pandemic and it exceeded expectations even in a crazy time! Everyone was respectfully adhering to guidelines and they were delightful in the midst of it all. The service was incredible and the food was equally amazing. Friends had always recommended Heirloom and they absolutely lived up to the well-deserved hype. I heartily recommend. We sat outside on an absolutely perfect evening and enjoyed the best salad we’ve ever enjoyed and entrees that showed off Kentucky cuisine! Thanks Heirloom!
