Las Playitas

Stayed up at the lake for the weekend, and it was amazing. My best memory of the weekend was my mother's birthday celebration at the restaurant. The food was also spot on. I've NEVER had crab taste like that and I would personally love to know how they make it. That is some of the best crab I've ever had. Also tried scallops for the first time, being part of the seafood nachos.

On their sign that says "Best Mexican food in town." That is no lie! I had the chicken cheese and rice with sliced and grilled jalapenos. It was so good.

I've gone back a few more times since my first review of this place. Every time it has been pleasant. The food is good.

One of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Even when crowded, we are usually seated pretty quickly. The chips and salsa are always fresh and seem to be home-made. The cheese dip too. The dishes are always hot and very flavorful. Recommend the shrimp chimichanga or shrimp taco salad- their shrimp is so good considering it’s not from a seafood place. Great service and delicious food. A plus is that they have Diet Dr. Pepper, my wife’s favorite.

Wonderful atmosphere and you can't beat authentic Taco Tuesday lunch special a dollar each, chicken or beef, soft or hard shell, pico de gallo. Awesome red salsa. Shout out to Marian for great service🎉

Great people who make sure you have everything you need. Great atmosphere, and the food is wonderful. I'm from SoCal and know what Mexican food should taste like. This passed the test.

We came here to eat lunch and it was not only a good amount of food on our plates it was also hot and it came to our table very quickly. It was very good and it was a great relaxing atmosphere and the service was great also.

The food was excellent, the service was even better, fed 8 people with two kids $ 120.00... kid friendly place...

Food was good. I had fajitas. Hard taco came with ground beef, would have preferred shredded beef or chicken. Now we know to ask next time. Service was good. We will definitely eat here again.

I ate at Las Playitas for the first time this weekend and will definitely go back. The menu is large and varied. My friends enjoyed traditional items such as enchiladas, served on one plate with sides of rice, beans, a little salad, and guacamole. They commented in particular that the enchiladas were large and very filling. The guacamole looked really good to me, a little chunky with finely diced tomatoes and onions. I was impressed with the number of seafood options on the menu, and ordered Seven Mares (Seven Seas) soup, served with 3 warm flour tortillas and a couple of lime wedges. It was delicious! It is a nicely seasoned broth- based soup loaded with seafood - large shrimp, crabmeat, chunks of tilapia, several mussels, scallops, octopus - plus cauliflower, carrots, and some diced tomatoes and onions. The soup was served steaming hot in a large bowl, honestly enough for 2 people. It's a great deal for $15. If you like seafood, you must try this soup. They also offer a spicy shrimp soup with rice. We were all impressed by the reasonable food prices and generous portions. Next time I'm in town, I will go back and save room for dessert - options include my favorites, flan, and sopapillas with ice cream.

I thought they had really good food. The service was excellent.

I wasn't really expecting a good pasta dish from a Mexican restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm glad I tried it because it was great. 10$!!!

The food is good, the service isn't bad and the price is decent

Food was fantastic. Service was spot on almost walking distance to and from the lake if your boating couldn’t ask for more.

Edit: It's great to see a restaurant with an owner who reinvests in the establishment. The atmosphere is getting better and better!

Alex and MaryBell are the best in the joint! Sometimes Alex can seem distracted but your order is important to him. They will both make sure you have a great experience.

Handled a family group of 14 with ease. Fresh food and came out just as fast as if I ordered alone. Great service and ALL orders were correct. Can’t ask for much more.
