Best custom cabinet designer and builder in the region!

After working with Denny for over two years planning cabinets for our remodel, the week before he was supposed to install the cabinets, he informed us that he was not going to complete our project. They sent us a refund check and then stopped payment on it! This has been such an egregious violation of our trust.

There were significant changes to our project over those two years but we met with him in July 2023 and then again September to finalize our plans and he assured us during the Sept. meeting that he was able to deliver everything and set an install date of the week of October 30th. When I offered to delay some of the work and put it at the end of his current queue, because he seemed overwhelmed with work, he declined and said it wouldn't be a problem. Furthermore, in all the time we had previously worked together he had never raised a concern with us about anything we were planning on doing. On the contrary, he regularly emphasized he wanted us to get the cabinets we wanted.

I asked Denny to call me to discuss the project cancellation but he refused. Instead, he blamed us for the cancellation due to the changes we made and ignoring their professional advice. Both accusations are meritless. The latter especially ironic since we incorporated at least 90% of the suggestions he made (they were good suggestions).

They kept our down payment for two years (I could have at least been making interest) and they set our project back by over three months since it will take at least that long to vet a new cabinet builder and get on their schedule. They did send us a check to return our down payment but then they stopped payment on the check and it was returned to us unpaid.

I offered to try and resolve this situation through mediation, hoping that we could resolve whatever concerns he had and move forward. He declined that as well. It seems likely that a lawsuit will need to be pursued to mitigate the losses we are facing because of his breach of contract and get our deposit back.

Ironically, up until the out-of-the-blue cancellation, he was a dream to work with and was one of the few contractors we dealt with during the remodel that I trusted to do the job right. Such a heart breaking ending. :o/

Don't let the slow talking old man act fool you. Quick temper and rude...I've NEVER had a contractor lecturing me as "Son..." Should've listened to other reviewer's insight.
Be wary of what you are getting in bed with.
