Mayasari Indonesian Grill

I’ve now had a second visit to Mayasari, and both times really enjoyed my experience. This restaurant is a GEM in an otherwise culinary-starved region of Indiana. The food is really delicious. The service is prompt, friendly and you are made to feel right at home. The prices are outrageously affordable for the quality of food that is offered.
I ordered the Beef Rendang, which the owner/server indicated was the most commonly ordered item (though that’s what I was aiming for, even without the suggestion). My friend ordered the meatball soup (which my husband ordered on my first visit), and it was equally good both times I tried it.
I’m really happy to find this spot in Greensburg and plan to make it a customary stop when traveling towards Cincinnati or the East/Southeast quadrant of Indiana.

I got the chicken satay and it was delicious. Chicken breast was juicy and wonderfully grilled. The rice was flavorful and fluffy.

Hubby & I were traveling through town and I found this restaurant using Google Maps. It’s a dining spot for locals, so the owner was happy to learn how we found them.
I selected Bihun Goreng with Shrimp. We both were pleasantly surprised when a Broth Soup arrived before our meal.
I guess I am used to the large portions of most restaurants, so I thought my noodle dish was very small. It tasted excellent, though.
In a small, interior room where we sat, there was a map on the wall with hundreds of pins. We asked the owner about this, and she explained that it was the location of all of their customer home locations that have visited them.
A couple seated in the room near us, began talking to us. A man in a different area walked over and started talking with the couple. This was the first time I had ever experienced something like this, and it was quite nice!
Next time, I will try the Chicken Satay. Other diners really liked that dish.

I've eaten here several times over many years (I'm from another state) and it's always been first class.
Can't wait to visit again!

This place is very nice. It was our first time eating Indonesian food. It was worth the drive. The food was very good and the restaurant was very clean. Take the time to talk to the owner. Their background story is very interesting. And the history of his wife and grandmother-in-law is awesome! They take the time to explain the food so that you don't get something that you wouldn't like.
Second visit: outstanding! Tried something different. Not disappointed! Love this place!

Traveling thru Greensburg on our way to Brown County, and we love trying new food, so we decided to stop in Mayasari and were very pleasantly surprised. Katlyn our server was very knowledgeable and helpful with decisions and her recommendations were spot on. The Soto Mie Ayam (indonesian noodle soup) tasted amazing. And the Blt cucumber was very refreshing and tasty. The Rissole was probably our favorite out of all the amazing food we had. Highly recommend stopping in this little treat in this nice town :-)

We dined here last Saturday. The food and the atmosphere was great. They served authentic Indonesian food. Their Chicken Satay and Beef Rendang were extremely delicious. Definitely a hidden gem and a great place to dine!

The service was great and everyone was super friendly. The food was good! I had the beef curry and my husband had the Mayasari hamburger & spring . For dessert we had the sweet Bungkus.

Very attentive and friendly service from the staff (it is family owned). Great Indonesian food, it is a bit tailored on the sweeter side compared to the authentic versions but are still delicious. They are also very accommodating to spiciness levels. Kopiko Blanca (essentially sweet hot milk coffee) and their Rendang (savory meat of choice dried to a jerky style with rice and a side of spicy pickled veggies called acar) are my recommendations.

Awesome place, people, food, and experience. Family ran love the family. Very good food if you want something different from the norm! The teas are amazing, Jasmine is my fave. The soup that comes with everything, bottle that up! I get it every time I'm sick perfect! The crab ragoons are my fave too!

Love the creativity of the tempeh salad, and asparagus. Tasty beef rendang and risol. Sambal sauce was on point! Beautiful decor with lots of Indonesian wayang puppets and Garuda. You get to see many Indonesian things including Tolak Angin.

Wonderful lunch!! Happened across this spot while passing through the area looking for some vegan food. Meal was fresh and delicious. Loved the flavors and service was great!

It was our first time trying Indonesian food. It was very flavorful and delicious. The owners and staff were very friendly. We hope to visit again whenever we are in the area.

I stopped here on my way back from a trip to Cincinatti. The service was excellent; the food came quickly and the server was personable and offered details/facts regarding how food was prepared. The tempeh salad definitely exceeded my expectations as a vegan. Attention to detail provided was everywhere. It's also very fairly priced. It's a hidden 💎 that I wasn't expecting in such a small town :)

The restaurant offered authentic Indonesian cuisine. The dishes took me back to the good old days in Bali years ago.

Me and my daughter's favorite restaurant! Awesome staff! Amazing food!!! Healthy filling portions at a reasonable price. Everything freshly prepared and they can work around food issues if you let them know what you need. A pleasure every time we eat there.

Great addition to Greensburg food options. Food was very good. I know Greensburg people generally don't like spicy but maybe asking spicy lever while ordering would be good. We asked for Sambal and it was great!

Mayasari is an unexpected delight. Who would think that in the middle of rural Indiana you would find genuine Indonesian food, cooked with love and expertise, in an atmosphere that makes you feel like you have been transported somehow to Indonesia. Humus and and wife team Maya Effendi and Rick Mays own and operate this little jewel in downtown Greensburg. A wonderful addition to the experience was having Rick explain the food and describe how Maya cooks it. For example, she believes that each ingredient goes in one at a time and has its time to shine before the next is added…From the cucumber BLT appetizer to the Chicken Satay (Sate Ayam) to the Beef Curry (Rendang Daging), the food was as delicious as it is authentic.

I love this place!! Everything from the appetizers to the tea is delicious and flavorful. I've never had food before where there were such complex layers of flavor and I'm not actually exaggerating when I say I dream about the food here. We ordered our anniversary dinner from here tonight and my expectations were once again exceeded. Thank you!!!!!!!!!
