Mud City Crab House

Heard about this place researching top seafood spots in LBI and it definitely is amazing. I was driving home on a Friday and decided to get there right when it opened to try it out before my trip. I arrived around 1120 and there was a parking lot full of cars. (Obviously a great sign). We got seated pretty quick and as did almost every table. It was packed! The service was very prompt and informative. The food was absolutely delicious. (We got a lot to try between the group.) The bill came and we were surprised how affordable it was! This place will definitely be on a must go to every time I’m in LBI.

Dined on a Saturday night and the wait was not bad at all. Nice seating outside with a fire pit while you wait. Madison took care of us and had provided us with amazing service. She made recommendations and checked in on us throughout the meal. 10/10 thank you Madison!

a fantastic seafood spot by the shore, this place has every fish on the planet you can think of! And every which way you can cook it.

Started out with some great clams, almost oreganata style, perfect bread for dipping. I also had a no filler all meat crabcakes, which I truly appreciate it, I actually ended up putting it on top of my Caesar salad.

For dinner I had salmon with wasabi sauce. My fiancé had the fried shrimp with french fries. Will definitely be back to try some cocktails!

Definitely one of the top restaurants in Manahawkin/LBI area. My pasta dish was amazing, and service was great. Only downside to this place is it’s not huge and they don’t take reservations. We lucked out and got a front parking spot and table fairly quick. They also have a cool little outside area with a drink truck and a fire pit. This makes the waiting part a lot more bearable (keep in mind we only waited about 15-20 mins anyway). Overall, great experience. Certainly a spot you should try this summer if you’ve never been.

Mud city never disappoints! As someone who truly appreciate fresh seafood at a good price, there is no better option in southern ocean county then here. Have been coming for over a decade and will continue for many more.

Service and atmosphere was amazing! I wanted the fire pit outside and they did not hesitate to turn it on. We were able to order drinks and drink outside while we waited for the table. When we ordered, it was fast and accurate. The attention from the waitress was super. However, when I ate the main course I was sorry to say I wasn't blown away. I really cannot pinpoint what was missing because I wasn't saying "we are coming back here!" I can say I have had better seafood locally but this place was a nice try for me. Good luck with parking and ask for as many wet naps as you can.

Great early dinner. Wine was perfect. We tried a few oysters and tuna appetizers. Linguini with mussels and white garlic sauce was unbelievable! There were 44 mussels in the bowl! 😳 My husband had the broiled combo platter and it was enjoyed. Lindsey was a good and attentive server. Nice beachy atmosphere.

We drive 2.5 hours to eat there and totally worth the drive!!!! Already planned our next visit!!!

Stumbled upon this gem when the joint we wanted was closed. Tremendous fresh seafood, homey casual atmosphere and craft cocktails. Loved it and left with fresh seafood to make at home! Worth the trip.

Great new place for us. Loved the crab and artichoke dip, The crabcake and u-peel shrimp were delicious. Will definitely return!

What a gem. We went with a big party so there was a wait which is totally understandable. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly. Our waitress Maria was fabulous. Since COVID, my husband and I have had horrible experiences everywhere we go. So coming here, and having absolutely wonderful service, greatly timed and delicious food was a welcoming experience. Enjoy!

Came here with family to enjoy the outside patio. Patio is dog friendly, we brought our pup and she had a great time. Fried calamari, soft shell crab and crab cakes were delicious. Our waitress was very sweet.

I have eaten here 20-25 times. It’s always a great experience. This place is exactly what a coastal seafood joint should be. It’s all about doing the basics perfectly and that’s what MCCH does. Crab cakes are perfection, fried food and shellfish done perfectly. Steamers are amazing. Don’t sleep on their fried oysters they are 2nd best in the area but it’s close. Paper on the tables, great service and cold beer just to top it off.

This place always looks busy so I finally checked it out this past weekend and I totally get it now lol. The wait was estimated at 1.5 hours for either indoor or outside at the time, but we got really lucky as there were 2 open spots at the bar, which is first come first serve. The food, drinks, and service were AMAZING. A++, I definitely recommend you try this place, you won't regret it!

Classic shore seafood place.
Extensive menu with lots of choices. Everyone @ the table loved their entrees, including grilled and fried seafood platter, shrimp skewers and crab cakes. Oysters on the half shell were fresh and delicious! Would highly recommend! White sangria was a fave!

Jumbo crab cake dinner with two sides was great. No filler in the crab cakes. Wifey had cod which was also excellent.

We went at 5 pm on July 4 and we seated right away. It is not a byob. worth going.

Great selection of seafood, good Clams Casino, broiled combination & stuffed flounder. Service was great. You could tell they had a great reputation cause on an a mid-September evening, they were packed. Great bar drinks as well.

We arrived at Mud City Crab house on a Friday night at 8 pm on a holiday weekend and expected to wait an hour to have a meal — would have been worth the wait! But instead, we were seated immediately and served an absolutely delicious meal in a flash. From oysters to fried pickles to an incredible serving of snow crab — everything was phenomenal. Our waitress, Becky, was amazing! The Tide Table group never disappoints! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best seafood in the area period! Blue claw crabs prepared. A number of different ways are always a big hit, as is the fried flounder sandwich. Have a Narragansett or two while you enjoy your meal!
Update 6/09/23:
The New England clam chowder was a perfect blend of clams, cream and spices! The blackened grouper sandwich was out of this world fresh and flavorful!

Get the garlic crabs and prepare to need lots of napkins! The garlic mussels are amazing as well. The staff has all worked here for years (some even decades). You will be impressed!
