Wells Mills County Park

Enjoy the weather in every season! Creeks, cedar swamps, peaceful wild forest, a reservoir for canoeing or fishing, well-marked trails of varying difficulty, visitor center, picnic area... What a great park!

wonderful recreation area with a nice variety of walking trails. The orange trail we found to be a bit wider and easier and good to take kids on. The white trail has great views of the lake. The green trail had a lot of fun narrow areas with some winding up and down. I enjoyed all of the trails.there is a playground for kids as well as restrooms and a picnic area.

On Nov 7 we walked the Green Estlow Trail - easy to moderate, well marked, with the occasional slight elevation. Would not consider it a strenuous workout and don’t expect great views of anything other than trees but it’s a great trail for locals in Ocean County and will definitely be back. There are paper maps available at the kiosk. Left tick free.

I set out on the (multi-use) yellow trail and walked nearly the entire thing before I hopped onto the (Marci) white trail. My strong advice - for those walking - to take the white trail. I happened to take a GPS which helped understand where I was. The white trail has a distinctive pattern that makes it confusing on the ground but clear from above. I went on a cool day and carried out several ticks.

We had a nice walk at Wells Mills County Park. Restrooms are available and we'll maintained. Place to go walking, fishing, kayaking, picnicking and just communing with nature.

Great park good hiking trails a lot of different trails

Plenty of trails to choose from. Since most of the trails intersect at some point, we decided to take the Macri Trail (white trail) and later on take the Estlow Trail (green). Great sights and a nice hike for the day.

You can tell that these trails are in good order and cared for.

Amazing trail system. The views are beautiful. Great place if you're a bird watcher. A definite must visit.

The trails are well maintained and clearly marked. Less than one mile, 3 mile, 4 mile, and 8 mile trails.

I really enjoy this park. There are several hiking/running/biking trails with the longest loop coming in around 8.5 miles. Most of the trails are wide and easy. Some are a little tough due to sand. My five year old loves the play ground and you can rent canoes. The little museum has a lot of info about wildlife and the history of the area. Fishing in the lake is pretty good if you go at the right time. Also, WEAR BUG SPRAY! The ticks are serious.

The park is a nice little jewel just off of the GSP. The facilities are well maintained and clean. Great for some outdoor peace and quiet.

I went for the hiking trails, of which there are several.
The Marci Trail is nice and long through the middle of the woods, with a few elevation challenges. While the trail is very well marked and well maintained, the majority of it is narrow through the brush - the area is infested with ticks (it's the Pine Barrens after all). So be sure to lather up with repellant and keep checking your legs as you go.

Beautiful, wonderful hiking trails for all ability levels, including one for the visually impaired.

Trails are great and well maintained. One of the few places in South Jersey to find some hills. Trails are set up so that you can do any level of hiking from a short stroll in the woods up to a 10+ mile challenging hike. Great for bringing the dogs as well.

Hidden gem. Gorgeous park with many miles of trails. Great views and it's set back from the main road so it's very quiet. Small playground area for the kids plus as nature center. You can canoe or kayak on the lake as well as fish. Great for a family.

This park is so pretty, lots of wild life and a few creeks you can walk over. You can ride your bike, walk your dog run or just go for a nice stroll. I recommend going in the fall, that's when all the leaves are changing and its cooler. The air is so fresh and there is even a musem/ bathrooms five stars for sure.

It was my first visit on a blustery January day. I took the green trail that was 3.5 miles. It was well marked and a very easy hike, no real obstacles here and very little inclines. I will return to do the remaining trails.
