Just went under new ownership. Prices have went down dramatically. Very pleased with the service I receive there.

Great location if you're visiting the Elms Hotel and Spa. Grab your drinks and snacks to stock your room refrigerator. Clean floors when I went it, more expensive than a typical convenience store but worth it. Nothing special, nothing bad, you can see the Hotel from there.

Very Very rude even the managers. Would argue with me. Often out of the cigs I smoke. Manager/Staff will stand around and chat and leave you waiting, often have long lines with one person running a register and 2 standing around talking.

Had the most horrible experience in the store with Emily. I have a registered service dog for severe vertigo, and she told me she wouldn't serve me the next time I bring the dog in with me. I tried to explain the federal and state law pertaining to service dogs, she told me she didn't care, and that I was holding up her line and to leave.

I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE AGAIN.
So yea, I'm not even going to attempt to be pleasant about this. Let me begin by saying I'm fully aware that ultimately I know my absent mindedness could have avoided the entire situation, but the following behaviors and actions that were perpetrated are the reason for my distain.
My vehicle ran out of gas at the golf course in town, which is a good distance away. Out of necessity I was forced to travel on foot to this eye sore that should've been shut down years ago. When I finally made it there and tried to purchase fuel the troll behind the counter radiating incompetency informed me that she would not sell me any fuel because I did not have a "proper" container. Even after informing her of the circumstances and how far I just walked, the extra chromosome having troll still refused. I had to walk another good distance away to Conoco where an intelligent human being who's parents weren't related kindly sold me the needed fuel.

stopped in here yesterday 4-16-21, to get a bottle of water, as it was time to take my medicine for my 911 illness. I am a retired fireman that spent time in NY digging on the rubble from 9/11 and now am dying from the exposure to jet fuel, alkalie and concrete dust. I am unable to wear a mask due to my lung condition. The clerk behind the counter proceeded to tell me that I had to put a mask on. I explained to her that I can not wear a mask due to my lung condition and unable to breath with a mask on. She said she did not care, and that she could not serve me unless I had a mask on and asked me to leave. Talk about discrimination against the handicap. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and wouldn't even give it a "1" star. quite frequently I would stop into this place prior to Covid.. I will stop at Paul's Convenience store from now on. They welcomed my business with open arms and to never worry about wearing a mask in there establishment; and yes, they were made aware of my inability to wear a mask.

I went in there and spoke with a lady named April the manager supposedly. Asked her if I gave her $15 in quarters if she could give me a 10 n 5 she refused I looked at her coworker and she went along with April and refused so I said I'm giving the money to someone for gas and I asked her if I sent them up there if they could pay in quarters and she told me no and refused service. I live right around the corner I've never had any issues here and I've lived here my whole life I'm very disgruntled and I'll be telling my whole family and everyone I know to go somewhere else to shop because of April unless Randy the corporate manager wants to call me she wouldn't give me the number at first I was hung up on Iactually had to call back to get the number from the other lady .

Just useless. Rude. Can't count change. Takes forever to get in and out. Excelsior Springs is better than this. You're right in the middle of the beautiful historic districts. Put a little more effort into hiring appropriate staff please. Lack of competition certainly has it's down side for the customers when it comes to this place.
