Mid-Missouri Museum of Independent Telephone Pioneers

This was an unexpected and unplanned little gem in rural Missouri. The open door, no staff, abandoned feel of the museum I think contributes to the allure and makes for a memory that you never anticipated making.

I think I enjoyed it more than my wife, but hey, I'm kind of a nerd. They have an old pen and paper guestbook which is neat to peak into and see where previous guests came from. Plenty of interesting phones from a bygone era. Restrooms around back on the side street.

This little museum is actually really cool. We came here meeting family halfway between Pleasant Hill and Columbia late last year. Charming little town.

Cool little telephone museum! We randomly stumbled across it. No one was there but the door was open. Small town charm!

Fascinating little museum in the tiny town of Blackwater, MO. No staff, apparently. Some neat old equipment (switchboards, exchanges, telephones, etc.).

The town was really cute, but the musuem was closed. I tried calling and nobody answered.
