Augusta Historical Museum

Great little local museum housing loads of local history for this town. The first school teacher, Mr Blood taught 35 kids for three years before calling it quits in a very little room above the general store. Great history lesson for kids that have no idea these days how well they have it in life.

This is a terrfic little museum especially for a small town. Great place to take kids over 6 & have a fun bit of history. There's a lot of interesting antiques, Photos & even great books about Augusta & Kansas. Books that will surprise even a avid history buff. Go & see it.

What a neat old place, and much bigger than it looks outside, and it is massive! I enjoyed it, but I like history and learning new things about the places close to where I grew up.
