This park is ideal for star-gazing: I saw 3 Geminid meteors inside of 10 minutes, about 8:30 pm Dec 13. Though primitive, it offers a modest parking area next to the river, where you can lie back and observe a beautiful, star-studded sky. Surrounding lights are extremely minimal. I never saw any headlights through the woods. Quiet as well, just heard an owl and some farm dogs in the distance.

It's an old park, very primitive camping. Juzt perfect for those who want to get away from other people. Very beautiful from the river.

Enjoyed trail riding at Winegar. Trails were well groomed and well shaded.

Nice place to catch bullheads and catfish.
Needs boat ramp fixed and and brush removed on bank for easier fishing.

Beautiful day for a horse ride at Winegar. Great trails.
