So, I came here for Brunch. We had to wait 1/2 hour to be seated. That's generally a good sign. The presentation of the food is very good. Some of the plates I saw are something to behold. The popovers look insane
I ordered the corn beef hash. I ordered it well done. It took longer than expected and came out completely dry and basically inedible. I flagged down a waitress ( turned out to be the owner ) and she was genuinely concerned that I received my food that way. Well, new plate, right away. She checked on me multiple times. As a business owner myself I totally appreciated the extra effort. My critiques: The service could be faster, but it's not horrible. The food is Fresh and the presentation is very good. The coffee is excellent and they have some excellent healthier options with good flavor ( I especially enjoyed the CHIA PUDDING and the smashed avocado 🥑 So far, I give it a strong recommendation and I will be back to update after I try a few more items.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Celebrating our daughter Gigi’s birthday, my wife and I ventured to Pop Over Eatery in Simsbury, CT, for a breakfast that was beyond our wildest dreams. As a professional chef, I was thrilled to discover a popover (also known as Yorkshire pudding) on the menu—a rare find that instantly caught my attention. The food was nothing short of fantastic, each dish prepared with such care and flavor that left us wanting more. From the sumptuous Belgian waffle to the variety of vegan options, every bite was a delight. What made our visit even more special was Sarah, the owner, who personally came over to ensure we were enjoying our meal, adding a touch of warmth and hospitality that truly made us feel at home. Pop Over Eatery is a gem in Simsbury, offering not just incredible food but also a welcoming atmosphere where every guest is treated like family. I wholeheartedly recommend this eatery to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Hats off to Sarah and her team for making our daughter’s birthday breakfast unforgettable! 🎉🥞🌱

I discovered this place by chance when in the town of Simsbury.
I absolutely love popovers, and this place really knows how to make primo popovers!
A plain popover comes with a side of honey butter, and it is a perfect accompaniment!

I got a seasonal Harvest Stuffed Popover, which has butternut squash, cheddar, carmelized onion, bacon, spinach, and scrambled eggs. It was sooooo yummy...as is any other popover breakfast I've ever ordered here.

I also got the Golden Spice Latte, which has tumeric, cinnamon, maple, and steamed milk. (I had mine with oatmilk.)

The staff is always so friendly and cheerful, too.
I'm excited to know they're opening a Mystic location soon, as that's a bit closer for me to visit.

Amazing food and vegan friendly! It’s decorated nicely and has great small desserts to choose from. It is quite pricey though, most meals including sandwiches can price up to $16! I recommend the Nutella filled popover (yes it’s in the kids meal but it’s cheap😝) and the lavender lemonade is SOMETHING ELSE ITS SO GOOD!!

I don't think this place could get any more perfect! It was the best surprise. My grandmother made popovers growing up and I feel like they are a family secret most days. The apple pie coffee was delicious! Even my spouse who hates coffee loved it!

Stopped into Popover Bistro & Bakery in Simsbury and grabbed some take out. Hubby is vegan we chose this restaurant after checking the menus online and seeing all off the choices they offered for him. I went with the veggie hash it was loaded with sweet potatoes, carrots, Brussels, broccoli, zucchini sautéed onions and wonderful roasted tomatoes. All of the veggies were perfectly cooked not a one that was too hard or soft. The seasoning and roasted tomatoes were perfection. I of course had to have a popover. Perfectly crisp outside light and airy inside it conjured up childhood memories of popovers made by a favorite aunt for holiday dinner simply wonderful. The very dangerous bakery case is located right by where you order, I glanced over long enough for the carrot cake to start calling my name. Who am I to resist? Moist and flavorful with just the right amount of frosting well worth every delicious calorie. My husband opted for the Vegan Power bowl, shredded kale, quinoa, toasted chickpeas, roasted broccoli and cauliflower, shredded carrot and falafel with pomegranate dressing. He absolutely loved it. We will definitely be back. He noticed they have a vegan waffle last time he found one of those at a restaurant we were in Brussels, Belgium

This place was fantastic! Great locally sourced foods and coffee! A variety of coffee/tea/smoothie options for healthy and delightful surprises. The food was amazing! I'm a vegetarian, frequently preferring vegan, and there were so many options here. Plenty for egg and meat eaters too. Pictures below: Buffalo cauliflower and broccoli (so good) with amazing vegan ranch, Brussels with siracha aoli, and the roasted vegetables popover "sandwich". All amazing. Would order again. The other four people I ate with loved their food too. Everyone had something different. One caveat is, it's small, so you may have to wait for a table. It's worth it! They'll even give you coffee while you wait!!

If you're in Simsbury for only one day, you have got to have breakfast or lunch at Popover. Yes, it's that good. Also, if what you order doesn't come with a, "popover", be sure to add one to your. Don't worry about the extra carbs, it will be worth it.

I was in Simsbury for fa wedding and after being picked up at the airport, my BFF and mother of the bride took me to Popover for lunch. The weather was super nice, so we ate out on the patio. It was a July wedding, I'm just behind on vacation reviews. We had a light lunch, I enjoyed one of their multiple Avocado Toast selections and the brides mother had a salad. We joked with each other that she had a mother of the bride dress to fit in. Our beverage of choice was the famous lemonade that they serve.

Day of the wedding I had lots of free time to myself. Since Popover was a short walk from my hotel, I took the stroll and enjoyed an amazing breakfast. I may have been in the Northeast, but I had to order the, Southerner. I am a big fan of, Chicken and Waffles and that is exactly what the Southerner was. They serve up a huge waffle with crispy chicken tenders on top. My waffle had a lightly crisp outside with a fluffy inside and the tenders coating was super crisp and the breast meat inside was tender and juicy. My morning beverage was a Honey Lavender Latte. I'm a sucker for honey, so it was a perfect choice.

Both times the staff was super friendly and professional. I give Popover, two thumbs up.

My children and I ate here back in October and had a great experience. It was a beautiful day, we sat outside and had a late lunch. Service was exceptional. The kids ate all their food and my popover and soup hit the spot. The cookie we had was addictively good.

One rule I learned over years of dining is if you go to a restaurant that offers something in their name.. order it because it won’t disappoint!

If it’s your first visit, definitely try a Popover’s popover! I mean it’s right there in their name!

Great breakfast/lunch/brunch spot! Simsbury charm with healthier options; however, it’s hard to resist that world-class popover!

Yesterday, my meal was fantastic as always! I shared the soup du jour, watermelon gazpacho with jalapeño served with a beautiful giant popover accompanied with butter mixed with honey; side of buffalo cauliflower with vegan ranch that was to die for; and the big vegan bowl full of protein and greens! The blood orange margarita and mango mimosa were delish and it’s easy to tell they’re made with nothing artificial, so you don’t feel too guilty. 😉

Love Popover Bistro & Bakery, keep up the good work!

Love this place! We stop here every month while on our commercial cleaning route. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the golden spice lattes are to die for. Cannot recommend Popover enough!

Amazing! I’ve never had a Popover in my life, and this dish is super unique and delicious. I love all things breakfast, and the fact that I could get this at 2pm was my favorite. The bread is very unique, fluffy on the inside with an awesome crust on the outer edges. Overflowing with eggs and goodies inside! I also had a coffee with bourbon, what else could you ask for? Comfortable shop with great music, staff and service. Staff was all masked up for COVID and they even had a huge tent outside if you’re more comfortable dining outside. Thanks again!

Absolutely delicious lattes and food. My husband had the loaded bowl and I had the chia pudding. We each had a popover in the side. Would absolutely come back. And those popovers? To die for .

After a friends wedding the night before and a stay at the Simsbury Inn, my hubby and I went for brunch at Popover Bistro & Bakery. We were blown away with, not only how delicious their coffee and food was, but also how cute this beautiful little bakery was! They say you eat with your eyes first, and the sweet treats and chalkboard coffee menu on the walls were so easy to read and order from. We knew exactly what we wanted just minutes after arriving inside. Not to mention the amazing selection of GF items really warmed my heart and tummy to see! As someone with celiac disease, it's hard to find a place with GF options but their breakfast bowl hit the spot and settled well! Their golden spice latte with oatmilk was warm and comforting! When checking out I couldn't leave without taking home their GF lemon ricotta raspberry cake slice! 10/10 recommend, can't wait to go back and try more! (Wish I would've taken more pictures)!

I work in Windsor and tired of the norm in the area. After finding a few places this one really stood out the most. Had a brief look on the menu and I was sold. I ordered online through Eat24 and was able to specify a time. The restaurant is a quick 15 min drive from here in a quaint plaza (There is even a Starbucks across the street). Walking in there was a good vibe but not packed. The employees were polite and cashed us out quick. The gluten free baked goods were extremely fresh as well as the food we ordered. They did a good job and will be going back.
