Great Pond/Massacoe State Forest

Great place to go on a nature walk if you're a local. If you're 25-30 minutes away and like ponds, sure it's worth the drive. It is quite a "great" pond in terms of size. If you're looking for a bike path that isn't very extreme at all, or a novice mountain biker enthusiasts, I do recommend this as a very good starting trail. I also recommend bug spray as this is a pond, bugs be everywhere...

Great place for a walk! It is mostly flat around the pond so it’s a pretty easy walk.

An unexpected gem in winter. People were ice skating on the pond, and a beaver lodge was close to shore. An owl was heard close to dusk.

Great pond is a great place for a short hike. One trail circles the pond with a few other trails venturing off into the surrounding woods. The trails aren't blazed but they are easy to follow as they are well traveled, and the property isn't so large they you have to worry much about getting lost. The pond at certain times of the year has water lilies and there's always some sort of critters to be found even if most days that is geese. Though wood ducks and an occasional heron can often also be found.

Great place for flat nature walk, trails are wide and well kept up. Seems like all visitors are respectful with the place, glad to see.

Was a rainy day this morning, but didn't stop my friend and I going on a hike around the pond. Was quiet, heard birds and frogs. Saw a family of geese with their two new gooselings. I would go back again.

Beautiful serenity surrounded this pond. Tucked quietly into the wood, this hidden gem is worth the drive for a bit of peace and calm in this busy and crazy world.

Beautiful and serene. Trails are not as kempt, but it's a lovely place for a stroll in the woods. Saw lots of ducks and geese.
