A great store run by an even greater man, his conversations are deep and engaging. His care for the children of the community is equal to his passion to enlighten others. Every time I visit I learn something and feel like I am being welcomed by an old friend.

Best Bookstore in the state. Customer service is impeccable.. The owner makes everyone feels like family regardless of race, gender or religion etc. I heard so many positive things about this owner I had to stop by and meet him in person... This bookstore is a staple in our community.

This bookstore is so much more than a place to buy books, but a place to have conversation and learn about others experiences. The owner is super knowledgeable, friendly, and genuine. Plus it always smells wonderful inside!!

I had her raving reviews about The Black Reserve Bookstore, and is a huge book lover, I had to check it out ASAP! I made my way over with my little and wow, my only regret is not going sooner. I was greeted by the friendly owner, Shaykh Muhammed, who was an absolute joy to talk to! The store has the most amazing vibe, it is comfortable, beautiful, and welcoming. I wanted to sit back with a cup of coffee and enjoy the books and conversation. Please, please, please check this place out and give them some love!

Great book store, excellent customer service, this bookstore is handicapped accessible. Most importantly, it is owned and operated by a Millersville University alumni!!! I will be back to do more business with this establishment.

Stopped in for the first time today after recently moving to town and I’m obsessed! The owner is so kind and knowledgeable. The books are top tier, especially the children’s books that have the most beautiful illustrations. We learned about book signings and events including Juneteenth that the bookstore hosts. Will definitely be back!!

Great selection of books, great conversation with the owner, and a space with good energy. I wanted to stay longer. I look forward to visiting again.

In the two times I have stopped in to date, the owner has been very friendly and helpful. I went in asking for more books from an author I'd enjoyed and while he didn't have any more by her at the time, he did take the time to introduce me to other books that he thought I would enjoy. He also recommended I check out the website to see if I could find the book I wanted so that he could order it in shop. Whether you are a Lansdale local or just passing through, you definitely need to stop by this charming little shop.

This is such a wonderful store! They helped me pick out books to give to my mother, a fourth grade teacher, for the holidays. I had mentioned I was about to catch a train and had left my coffee cup. The owner ran to the train station to give it back to me :) Definitely worth a visit and lively chat!!

We were surprised to find this refreshing oasis of African-American cultural heritage in Lansdale. The place is amazing. The staff is knowledgeable. We found children's games and books. Besides books of an assortment of subjects, it also showcases an exceptional selection of products including art, jewelry and designer clothing. There's sure to be something that suits your interests. We told our friends and family. Well done.

We have been to this store to encourage a very young writer on her first book publication.
The store has cool ambiance and decent selection of very good books. It is worth a visit.

I have a secret Santa for the holidays and all I had to work with is an age and that he wanted books. I was in a quandary because I am not familiar with preteen books a boy would enjoy. I certainly went to the right place! The owner was warm and welcoming and helped me pick out 4 amazing books. We had fun chatting about books and history. I am so grateful for his expertise to make the young reader happy. Make this store a regular spot for buying books!

What an amazing experience. Went to the shop looking for black history books for my 14 year old daughter. The owner greeted us with the warmest smile and proceeded to guide my daughter through countless options. His enthusiasm for the books was refreshing and contagious. We left with six and will be back once we finish them.

I ended up at the store by happenstance as a friend left me an urgent message indicating that Frederick Douglass's great, great, grandson would be there signing bicentennial copies of "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave". What a wonderful experience! The proprietor of the store, I believe his name is Shayke, is so welcoming and gracious. The store is well laid out and has an excellent selection of books written by African American authors and about African American subject matter.

There were diverse people in the store and all were welcomed. The selection of children's literature with African American themes is impressive.

If you have a child, if you were once a child or if you know someone with a child you need to visit. If you are human and would like to be informed this is the place for you. It's not only the literature they have to offer... it's how they make you feel... like family.

Today was my first time at the bookstore. The owner greeted me, he was helpful. We had a great conversation. A great selection of more commercial books and books less known. And they have a great section of kids books! I bought a few. I’ll be returning for sure.

It was an unexpected visit to a mystical and magical place! For all whom adore knowledge and revere all things literary this is an establishment you have to visit! It encompasses a warm and inviting environment full of an array of literature ethnic art, fashion and so much more! If you are looking for sweet scents, good reads, great conversations and amazing entertainment, then this is the place to be. Oh man! So, so, so glad I got a chance to stop and check out The Black Reserve Bookstore. I had a fantastic time browsing the selection of books, cards, apparel and more. My two year old enjoyed the beads, fish and figurines. But most of all we enjoyed our conversation with Shaykh. I didn't want to leave, but I know I'll be back again.
