Big PaPa's Brick Oven Pizza

I had a Sicilian pie and some calamari delivered to my home and the owner Chris delivered it himself. He let me know that the calamari is made fresh there not frozen pre-breaded stuff and man was he telling the truth! The stuff is delicious! The pizza was crisp and delicious too! Felt like NY pizza to me! I’ll be going by with the family next time! Thanks Chris!

I can't say enough good things about the service. On vacation, ordered food and my phone died. Couldn't find the delivery driver who waited on me forever. Finally, got to call and they brought the food right back. The lady on the phone was so sweet. The food was yummy. My kids were happy. Couldn't ask for more.

Best sauce in town🙌🏻 You can taste every fresh ingredient in this pizza, and that’s because everything is made from scratch in house. The crust is thin and crispy, and they don’t cut corners when it comes to loading up on the toppings. Sauce, cheese, crust- everything was spot on and we can’t wait to go back and support a locally family owned business! Thank you!!! 😀

We came here on our way back home from Kalahari and at first we got one pizza, but then we got one more because of how delicious it was. I recommend coming to this pizza place because the pizza is very well made.

If you haven’t eaten at Big PaPa’s Brick Oven Pizza you haven’t lived. This is potentially the greatest pizza spot in the northern hemisphere. My recommendation is to try the bacon chicken ranch pizza. The chicken is extremely high quality, the bacon tastes like the pig was killed with love, and the ranch is just to die for. It’s locally owned and provides fantastic service. 10/10 we left no scraps.

Don't miss this gem! Big Papa (aka Chris) is a pizza artist. Ask him what his newest creation is. I had the (secret menu item) broccoli rabe with ricotta cheese no red sauce that was the chef's kiss. The crust is crispy on the outside soft on the inside. We ordered a cheese for our daughter. It was huge. My son is dairy free so they were able to accommodate him with a yummy chicken Cesar salad. Hubby had chicken cacciatore. He loved it. So full of veggies and chicken. Wish we lived in the area but probably a good thing of our waistline we don't.

Visiting in the area and decided to try out a local pizza place. Did a quick Google maps search and saw the pizza shop was close by and decided to drop in. It's located at the end of a strip mall type building and we actually drove past it at first. I'm so glad we turned around to go back. It is totally a hidden gem. Family owned. We were the only people in the shop and the owner made our pizza and chit chatted while we waited. We learned that the current owner had just purchased the business, so if you've had a bad experience in the past-give these guys a chance. They use a fine ground flour under the pizza crust I stead of the usual cornmeal. I loved the texture of the crust with the flour versus cornmeal. The sauce was flavorful and the cheese was super melty. We ordered a meatlovers and it was LOADED. The meatballs used on the pizza were homemade and delicious. Definitely one place that I look forward returning to.

Staying at great wolf and decided to go grab some heroes (grinders). Amazing. Friendly service. Great food. Well stuffed heroes. Next time visiting we will definitely go back to big papa’s

Brought our 7 and 5 year old to Great Wolf Lodge from western New York….absolutely DELICIOUS!!! This place is way BEYOND a pizza stop….the pasta, the appetizers (calamari to be exact)…the subs/cheesesteaks….quality is top notch, and my husband and I are SO bummed we have to go home. Wish we could take Big Papas with us 🥰🥰🥰

Being a transplant here from NJ/NYC area for 6 yrs now, it's been hard to find food that in Monroe County that can satisfy our palate that's been used to the a certain taste for 40 years. One of them is that certain taste for pizza. Usually, the pizza from all the places we have tried are either bland ,salty, or taste like those big chain stores. Until today, we have been getting our pizza from a place in Mt. Bethel because it's the only decent place we have tried and it's a long ways from where we live here in Pocono Township.
We finally got to try this place after a day at Camelback since I'm too tired to make dinner. A little heads up, this place is under new management since early spring and the new owner has kept the original name. Speaking about the owner, he is very friendly and takes his time to say hello to his customers no matter how busy it was, which it was when we were there. He managed to chat with every table...
Now, to the pizza. OMG! the crust is thin and crunchy! The sauce taste like home made unlike others we have tasted. There is great amount of cheese and "grease" that rivals pizza we have had in NYC, Hoboken ,JC, etc.! Even with all of that, when we got home, the pizza wasn't soggy.
Usually, when we order a pie, we usually have about 2 slices left and end up being discarded the following day. My 7yr old daughter usually only eats 1 slice and she ate 3 because she said it was really good. Today was also the first time we finished a whole pie and in under 30 minutes!
I didn't believe at first about the hype that it's "voted #1 pizza in the Poconos", but after today I wholeheartedly believe it and it's only a few minutes from us! Unfortunately, there is no home delivery but if we can go to another county to get pizza, we surely can take the 7 minute trip there! This is a 10-star review for me.😁

My favorite pizza. I live in Mt Pocono. Everyone that visits agrees! It's the best. I eat gluten free, but I hear the regular crust is also outstanding. Staff is fun as well!

Don't judge a book by it's cover! Alright, I can agree that this spot might not sit a ton of folks (as mentioned in other reviews), and it's definitely casual and laid-back. But it has heart, and most importantly flavor!
My husband & I had a huge "personal" stromboli with pepperoni, mushroom & peppers (plenty for two) and our son enjoyed his two slices. The stromboli took a little while to cook up--but that meant it was piping hot & fresh! It was well worth the wait, and while we waited it was like we were part of the neighborhood! The character you find in this spot is one of a kind. The owners (and their children) are so welcoming and personable!
Definitely give it a try!
Oh, and the dipping tomato sauce was fantastic and flavorful!
(Some reviews noted concerns over price, I'd say ours was reasonable for a semi-touristic area.) $24 = a two person stromboli, two cheese slices & iced tea & water 🤷‍♀🍕

Our family is staying at GWL in poconos but wanted a NY pizza (we’re from NY) and this place was spot on! Friendly service behind the counter. We ordered 3 different personal pizzas which were honestly enough for 3 people per pizza, and chicken fingers with fries. Everything was delicious and our kids even raved about how good it was! Prices were great for how much food we got! If we come back to GWL we will ABSOLUTELY be coming back here for pizza! Thank you!

The food was great, had the 9 inch cheese steak it was the best food i ever ate coming from a picky 18 year old… these guys put in the love honestly

This is a great spot and wonderful alternative to the food at a great Wolf.
Excellent flavorful crust, tasty sauce and a great range of toppings.
And the Cannoli’s were a great sweet treat.
It’s a short walk or drive down off the hill and worth the time.

I'm a long term valley girl transplanted to the beautiful Pocono Mountains....all I needed was a GREAT pizza place!....and I found it! We order a weird pizza....Meat Lovera with EXTRA Pineapple. The guys always know it's me when I call and they never let me down!! Today, mom had a request of Plain Pizza...and as Italians these boys know...Mama gets what she wants! So we recieved a Meat Lovers, EXTRA Pineapple....with TWO slices plain...Thank you so much for your delicious food and extraordinary hospitality...we'll forever be customers ♡♡♡

Best pizza in the area! Family friendly! Stopped by with the family for a pie on our way to Great Wolf, and the food was delicious.
