This is a delicious cheesesteak place! Barry has been cooking cheesesteaks for over 50 years so he knows what he's doing! Their onion rings are amazing! Their private label sodas are great. I highly recommend it 👌 👍

Barry's offers a great change-of-pace steak shop in Roxborough. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the interior has a long bar for patrons to eat in and enjoy their meal.

I got the cheesesteak with American, fried onions, and hot peppers with their own black cherry soda to wash it down. The steak was very good and the soda hit the spot. I would say it is on par with some of the more popular or chubbier competitors in the area.

Great steaks, just tried the "Alpine steak." It was fantastic. Also had great cheese fries, and the house made sodas are delicious.
Great atmosphere, really friendly staff, seats available at lunch time -and- parking lot adjacent, parked for a buck!

Had the cheesesteak with the Cooper cheese, fried onions and mayo. Maybe I'm crazy but I personally found the cheesesteaks here to be just as good as Dalessandros. The spiral fries were okay but I really enjoyed their brand sodas. Had a strawberry flavored soda and enjoyed it, and realized to myself that this place must be pretty popular if they have their own brand of sodas. There's a parking lot right behind the place too and a bathroom towards the back.

Oh heck yes this was amazing cheesesteak. Friendly staff that really knows their stuff and the smell!!! Oh man the smell the moment you walk in!!!! Yes please I want more.

First time going here, was able to dine in and served quick for lunch as it was mostly takeout orders.
I ordered the mushroom cheesesteak and had 1 of their signature Barry's pineapple drinks. It looked great, came out super fast and tasted just as good. I was very hungry but even so it still tasted great with big ol' mushrooms on there and white cheese.
The girl at the cashier was very friendly as well. I'll likely go back when I move down here.

Everyone will have an opinion on which place has the best steak sandwich.
That being said, their Cheesesteak with Cooper Sharp cheese is by far the best steak sandwich I have ever eaten, and I have eaten a lot of cheese steaks.
I can't even think about getting a cheese steak anywhere else.
I also enjoy their sides, from fries to their corn nuggets.
Employees are extremely friendly, all around you'll enjoy your decision to support this local Philly treasure.

Philadelphians will argue almost to the death in favor of their favorite cheesesteak places. IMO Barry's Steaks has the hands-down best cheesesteaks in the East Falls & Roxborough areas. More meat & cheese than Chubby's & way less salt than Delesandro's.

Cooper sharp cheese is a MUST! SO GOOD. My husband brought me home a cheesesteak, and it's one of the best or maybe the best I've had in the Philly area! I do wonder if it's an option to get it "toasted" but it's still amazing! Highly recommend the cooper sharp cheesesteak.

Outstanding dinner tonight. After a neighbor recommended trying this place we were sold. We got a cheesesteak, southwest turkey hoagie and some sort of fried broccoli with cheese. So many great flavors. The bread was also fresh and chewy. Prices were normal. Glad I got the normal size so I have some extra to eat tomorrow.

Get their original, the Alpine Steak, and you're in for a true treat. One of the best takes on a cheesesteak I've had in the city. They've also got their own sodas which pair well. Plus indoor seating and they take card payments.

I came to Philly for business for the first time and all I wanted was a "real" cheesesteak. Barry's did not disappoint! The hoagie was great and the curly fries were delicious. Huge portions!

Sad to see it go but Barry's had exceptional food and great prices. Hope their new location manages to work out for them even if it doesn't have the same charm I'm sure the staff and food will still be fantastic.

Excellent cheesesteaks with a wide variety of toppings offered counterside. The menu was also expansive. In addition, the easy parking, clean establishment and friendly staff make this place very easy to recommend!

This is one of those unsuspecting little neighborhood places that gets overshadowed by the nearby popular spots. But make no mistake, this is one of the best steaks in all of Philly! The people there make it all the more better. You can tell they really love what they do.

Best cheesesteak in Philadelphia! My fiance and I split a regular size cheesesteak with extra provolone, mushrooms, and mayo. It was delicious and big enough for both of us to be full. Will definitely be back the next time we are in Philadelphia.
