This was much better than I expected! Either of the floors alone would have been worth the price of admission. I was expecting my grandchildren to be bored but they were incredibly entertained we loved the two dress up areas and all the other interactive activities such as where you could trace a fossil or write a letter to a confederate soldier etc. The train museum was entertaining I am not a big fan of model trains but I liked it I feel that if I was a fan this would have been a once in a lifetime experience for me. I also liked that there were several restrooms and they have a family admission which covered two adults and two children for only $25 this is more than one person costs to get into several other museums

A very nice museum dedicated to the history of Lycoming County and other aspects of regional history of North Central Pennsylvania. The Taber Museum has displays and artifacts ranging from Native American times right through to modern times. There are lovely prices of artwork and industrial exhibits as well. Young and old alike will also love the Shempp Model Train Exhibit room downstairs with 2 large working model train exhibits and row upon row of rare and unique models of trains! There are also many lectures and events held throughout the year. All in all a great place to spend an afternoon while learning some information about the local area.

Very fine museum that has many professional displays representing the history of Williamsport & Lycoming County. Also a very active museum that has lots of events both historical & social. A real asset to the community. Housed in the museum is also the Lycoming County Genealogical Society. The volunteers that work there diligently help people research their family histories.

A fantastic museum offering alot within the realm of local Williamsport history. The surround areas of Lycoming county are covered also. Plenty of exhibits, dioramas, antiques and fine art. Great for students young and old. A+
Admission fees are affordable and there's alot to be learned here dealing with Lumber, railroad, military, indigenous ones, and many more topics.

Excellent museum. They offer a thorough and concise perspective of the area including the natural history, indigenous people, industrial revolution, artists, and more. There’s also a massive train room and some really cool industrial era machines on display

Really detailed and interesting especially for a considerably small town. Downstairs there's a whole train room with toy trains dating back to pre war as well as large displays that are interactive.

A wonderful museum that focuses on local history. It is so packed with wonder displays and artwork. Williamsport and Lycoming County are rich in history so make sure to give yourself a generous amount of time to be able to take it all in. This is definitely a stop that is well worth the time!

Spent several hours going through the museum including a room full of needlework from as far back as 1760! Most were done by young girls from age 8 - 15...they managed to create some very intricate and beautiful designs. Lots of other things in the museum were of great interest and I spent a good deal of time looking at everything. The room full of trains was amazing!! Well worth the cost of admission.

A family favorite! Overall, a great museum to explore local and regional history.
One of the favorite exhibits for our kids is the toy train exhibit which has lots history and interactive fun. In addition to the historical exhibits, artwork, massive detailed doll houses, hands on dress up stations to allow people to dress in historical outfits, and many other things they always have fascinating rotating exhibits that change regularly (monthly I believe) to showcase different interests and helps to keep the museum fresh.
For our family we have been getting the annual family membership and try to visit once a month, or so, which is a great value! A highly recommended local museum chocked full of relevant regional history!!
