Everyone there was very courteous and our server was great. The pub portion of the restaurant was quite dark as you would expect a tavern to be. The patio in the back was completely different and had its own, great vibe. Lots of natural light, a few fireplaces, greenery on the ceiling, etc. We had the “famous fish and chips” and it was delicious! The fish filets were huge, the breading was thick and substantial, crispy and delicious. The chips (fries) were very good as well. The drink menu was enormous and had tasting notes for many of them. We’ll certainly be back.

My favorite place to go for wings hands down, they're lightly battered fried and amazing! And their crab dip starter plate is also delicious, it's one of my go too starters.

Outstanding choices of food. However, "breaded chicken wings"? Take the bread off the wings and make the the quantity more than eight (8) for $14.
Tuna was tasty....
Very nice selection of beer. Great to see Guinness and Harp on tap together.
Great location along the bike trail.

This was our first time visiting and we made a reservation just in case. We picked the enclosed patio. We are so happy we did. What a beautiful area. The quietness made it feel really intimate. The service and food was great. My Fiancé had the turkey burger and fries. I had the bangers and mash with a spiced sangria. We will definitely return.

Amazing food and amazing service. When I received my food it wasn't cooked how I liked, and the waitress and kitchen had no problems remaking it for me. The drinks were stiff and the food was delicious. Will be stopping in every year we vacation now. P.S. To the waitress: those white tea shots were so good!

The atmosphere of this English pub is amazing. It may be a little too dark for some people, however. Service was great and fast. Cocktails were tasty and food was delicious. Can't wait to go back.

My husband and I moved to the area a few months ago. Since then, we’ve stopped in a few times. It’s been great each time- from the service, to the food, to the atmosphere. I love sitting in the atrium- it makes me feel like I’m “outside” without being outside!!
I love this place

Our relatives used to play musical instruments in the restaurant. He said the food here is great. Crab Dip taste very authentic. Plenty of vegetables and bread. McCleary's Wings It tastes great with spicy Thai sauce. The food is made quickly and the service is professional and friendly. The food is made quickly and the service is professional and friendly.

We love McCleary's! We’ve been going here for many years and have never had a bad meal. My husband recently had the Pittsburgh Steak Salad and remarked that it was the best steak he ever had on a salad. Always a favorite for us.

One of my favorite pubs in Lancaster County. It's in an old building right by the Susquehanna river. Inside, it is warm and friendly and bit on the dark side, which I really like. It adds to the atmosphere, which also includes daily live music. There's always a good selection of craft beer, daily specials and a well-thought-out menu with many Irish food selections. I had chicken pot pie, a salad and a 5.4% Scottish Ale, pleasantly and quickly served. It's a great place to meet friends and is a must-stop if you are hiking the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail.

Great place to visit and eat at if your ever in the Marretta area. Not only is the food very good (a tad pricey) but worth it, the service is also friendly and helpful. I loved the atmosphere, very unique like the area itself. I'll be back!

Stopped by McCleary's Pub after a ride on the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail on the Saturday of Independence Weekend. We were seated in a covered porch area. Our server knew the menu and made recommendations. The fish and chips were astounding as was the pulled pork. Add Irish cider and it was a great late lunch.
Highly recommended!

I love this Irish Pub! I always sit in the back area that has an indoor garden/jungle vibe. If you want the traditional pub feel, the front area has the low lit, wood decor look with bar and tables. There's a stage for bands (mostly playing on Saturdays), and for bigger events, the bands play in the garden area. I must admit, I order the fish n' chips almost every time; they're so damn good. Good selection of brews and kind staff. Don't forget the magician on Sundays! And seriously, don't sleep on the fish n chips!

Update 2: We were able to score a reservation on a Friday night. I tried the prime rib melt this time. It tasted good, but the bread to meat ratio wasn't great so I would skip this next time. The fish and chips were spot on as usual and the Smithwick's on tap was awesome as always.

Updated: we stopped back in on a Thursday with just 2 in our party without reservations and there was an hour wait due to short staff, common right now everywhere it seems. Luckily the bar was open seating and were able to grab a seat here. We tried the pretzel appetizer and the cheese dipping sauce was great, we saved it for our fries. We also tried the fish tacos and the reuben. Both were very good, but I thought the fish in the tacos were a little small. I definitely could have used a 3rd taco, since they only came with 2. We saw a waitress make a drink with Guinness on top, she said it was a black and tan, which we had heard of before, but they make them with Smithwick's and Guinness here, of course no many other places can do that since they don't have Smithwick's on tap hardly anywhere, so I had to try one, very good! The young lad bartender was very good as well, very busy, but kept up with everything.

As we were guided to our table we weaved in and out of the pub area of the restaurant which really made you feel like you were in Ireland. We were sat in the enclosed patio area which a really cool feel, which you can see in many of the pictures. I started with their Old Manhattan which was very good and I really loved that they had Smithwick's on tap. I ordered the crab soup and the tips on toast. The crab soup was excellent and the tips were also very good, but some of the pieces were a bit chewy. Other's at the table ordered the famous fish and chips and the pulled pork sandwich. The fish and chips were very good. They had a very nice flavor and it made me wish I had ordered that over the tips and toast. The pulled port had a wonderful smoke flavor to them, also tasted very good. The service started out strong which a friendly waiter that was attentive, but as they evening went on we had some trouble finding him. My crab soup didn't come until after my meal, but I wasn't charged for it so I was still very happy. Other notes I'd like to make is the parking behind the building was a bit messy, so I wouldn't bring a freshly washed car, but there is street parking available. Also they charge a 3% fee to use your credit card. I can understand why they do this, but I think it would be better to offer a cash discount, as no one likes extra fees, especially when the vast majority of restaurants are not doing the same. We will definitely be back, it was a awesome experience.

We had a very large party of about 10 people and 6 children That can be a very challenging experience at a restaurant! But we had a great time! The food and service was wonderful as usual!

I have been to this place many times, but most recently my boyfriend and I visited on March 17th/St. Patrick’s day. I made reservations well in advance to enjoy the music in the covered patio area. As usual, nothing disappointed. I do not know if I ever ordered shepherds pie here before, but both of us got that dish, and agreed it was 10/10. The live music is some of the best in the area. In addition, they now have reopened their fully outdoor beachy space as well, which we enjoyed with a beer after our reservation time was finished. Highly recommend.

I took my wife and kids there last night for St. Patrick’s Day, and I do not regret one thing about it. The food and drinks were awesome and the service was on point. The environment was a perfect setting to celebrate our proud Irish heritage, and we will definitely be back.

My fiancé and I went to McCleary’s because my coworkers were raving about it, one of which even had her rehearsal dinner there. We heard their fish and chips were outstanding, so I ordered that and my fiancé got the prime rib melt sandwich. Great portion sizes, not too much but certainly not too little. Both very tasty and impressive dishes. A lot of meat in the prime rib sandwich, especially for the price. The batter on the fish stayed so crispy that even on the last bite, it was still just as satisfying as the first bite. Our server was very attentive and friendly. At least 2 or 3 other servers saw we were done with plates or trash and just picked it up while walking past. This really added to the experience because we were sat in a half sized booth for 2 people, and those tables can fill up fast. So to not have all that extra stuff on the table was great. Food was served quickly and was hot. We had such a welcoming experience. We will definitely be back.
Edited to mention that this experience happened on a Friday night! We made reservations online, which was super easy, and we were seated right away when we arrived.
