Shank's Tavern

This may be the best tavern I’ve ever been to. The service was excellent, the food was homemade and delicious, the space is interesting and welcoming, and the customers love it.

My first impression is that this bar is absolutely worth giving a chance if in doubt. Stopped for a quick bite while in the area, and we enjoyed it enough to want to come back soon, though we're almost an hour away.
Great atmosphere, friendly service, and interesting decorations on the walls that kept us entertained.
I only tried a burger, but I was very happy to see Feta cheese as an option. It wasn't huge, but for the price it was flavorful and well worth it.
And the pickle shots tasted great!
Looking forward to trying some more menu items in the future.

We stopped in here on St. Patrick’s Day for drinks. I have been here before, but they have somewhat limited hours, so I just try to stop in if I happen to be in the area and see they are open. This place has a beautiful historic atmosphere indoor, a very nice little patio, good prices, and good vibes.

My wife and I went there recently for the first time with a friend and it was one of the best places we've visited for lunch in a long time. The burgers are competitive with anything you'll find anywhere else and they have a long list of craft and imported beers. We'll be going back again first chance. It's a real gem hiding in Marietta!

Such a historic bar and super friendly staff. I could spend hours just looking at the walls and the pictures and talking to all that nice patrons. Had the burger and a salad and it was perfect just as ordered. But what I really liked was the beer selection, out of the 10 or 12 taps only two or three IPAs, thus they had excellent other choices, really like that in a bar these days.

Had a 2 weeks work stay in the area and the first thing we were told is the place is like "Cheers". They were right! By the time our stay was up we were being greeted from locals across the room and everytime we entered we felt more than welcomed. Everything is reasonably priced and the specials were excellent everytime. It is 100% worth the stop and worth coming back. I could say so many great things about my experience and I thank them for the memories. We hope to be back.

This is the type of place, although we do not go often but if you do, "Everyone knows your name." VERY good food, VERY friendly people, beautiful Tavern. Thank you for a great Quesadilla w/chicken and House Salad, delicious blue cheese dressing and Cheese Steak and Soup. This time had the Flatbread pizza, Vegetarian Spring Roll with peanut sauce and my husband was hungry for their Ham and Turkey sandwich, all delicious. Seems we are going more and more as everything is made to order and fresh.

Great all around place to visit! Food, fun, friendly. Their specials are delicious, but get there early! They are so good they run out fast!

Found it on a historical tavern web site so we thought we'd try it. We arrived on our motorcycle a half hr before they opened. I guess they saw us, and invited us in early. The food was awesome and the service was friendly and comfortable. Felt like we were one if the regulars! Definitely would stop again if in the area!

Shanks is a great little local bar! The atmosphere, the great staff the beer selection....and good food! For a small bar you'll find it to be a really fun place to visit.

Stopped in for lunch while passing through Marietta and Shanks did not disappoint. Who knew we would be dining in 200 year old tavern! The atmosphere was so neat and our waiter (Jimmy?) was super attentive and welcoming. I got the turkey pesto sandwich and my mom got the balsamic flatbread which were both super tasty and filling. Decent prices too! Love this little place! We’ll be back.

Very neat pub along the River Trail. Bike parking, lunch specials, cool atmosphere, historic building, and excellent beer on tap. Great mid way stop when doing the Northwest River Trail or in the Marietta area.

LOVE THIS PLACE! Food, staff, and atmosphere are all top notch. Small, but selective, bourbon selection. Best little tavern in Lancaster, Co...and trust me...ive been to all of em. Keep up the great work! Andi, Frannie, Tammy and Corie are the best.

What more can I say. A must stop if you are in the area! Be coming here for over 50 yrs. Good food, drink, staff and atmosphere. 👍🏽👍🏽

Listening to 102.1 I always hear the advertisement for them so my wife and I stopped the other day. Got a table by the fireplace and we both loved the food we got. I don't remember the name of the ice coffee with Jameson in it but it was delicious

Great spot for dinner and drinks in Marrietta. Staff is super friendly and accommodating and the Friday night sushi special was excellent. Wide selection of drinks and the crème brûlée was some of the best around! Highly recommended!

Old timey style pub. Nice selection of draft beers for us craft beer fans. Also had a mix 6 section that was unusual to see in a tavern. Had a tip steak sandwich that was great. Also has locally made deserts.

Anyone, anyone coming to Marietta, Pennsylvania has to visit Shanks tavern! I'm 74 years old, and this is the most friendly place I've ever stepped into. The staff takes time to talk with you with smiling faces. The owner came over to our table, introduced himself ,we had a lovely conversation. There are no TVs in this tavern. It should be the highlight of anyone's visit to Marietta, Pennsylvania. We were just visiting here for two nights, having driven four hours to get here. After our initial introductions, these people knew they were never going to see us again, yet they took time to make us feel so welcome!

We made a pit stop in here this morning while on a bike ride. First ones in the place, and we were met with the greatest hospitality from the beautiful bar tenders! The lunch was spectacular! My son was very impressed! Will be back here again soon!!
