The long John's were delicious!! It was a mix of donut and croissant. The topping was amazing! It was a whipped fudge frosting that was light but thick. And it wasn't overall sweet!! The homemade fry pie was equally excellent!
Highly recommend.

We love this place! When you go in, you can't just buy one thing! They are famous for their Long John donuts, but they also have a big selection of other delicious desserts and treats. Definitely recommend checking this out if you're in the area - it's a cute little shop with reasonable prices and won't disappoint!

Childhood memories came rushing back. This is place is a local treasure. Their long Johns are one of a kind. I’m pretty sure there is some magic going on behind those walls. I recommend trying all the flavors. Peanut butter was amazing. I also recommend trying the apple raisin donut things. All are made to feel welcome in this establishment. The staff is very friendly. 10/10

Achenbach has been a staple in our house since I can remember. The vanilla Long John's will always be my favorite donut until the day I die. No matter what part of the world or what part of the United States I have traveled to, I NEVER had a better donut than the one from Achenbach Bakery.

Don't forget about their cakes. Their pastries are the most phenomenal I have ever had, and I have never met who disagreed after they had one!

Always the highlight of our trip and our first stop in the area! Where do I start? Their long Johns are out of this world-my favorite is the peanut butter one! Their pecan sticky ring is also awesome and my mom's favorite. My husband loves the muffins! So many great options to choose from-what are you waiting for?

Our families favorite is the long john donuts. I have been coming to this bakery since I was a child and now my children enjoy it as well!

While I only had a chance to buy and taster their donuts everything else looked good. I was very happy with the donuts that did buy. Also the people working there were friendly. Next visit to the area and I will try more of their baked goods.

Achenbach's made a beautiful cake to cut for my wedding reception. I gave a picture of what I wanted and I was not disappointed! It was a delicious cake. Also ordered of a variety of whoopie pies which were a huge hit. Highly recommend!

We visited after 3pm unfortunately much was already sold out. BUT, look at their GINORMOUS CHOCOLATE ECLAIRS! OMG, they're huge! (next time I'm getting one as I couldn't keep in car while running errands this day!)
We did get pastries which were very reasonably priced!
The black-raspberry cream cheese Danish is totally like a dream pastries in your mouth! Just the right balance of flavor which you have to taste to get the full experience of!

OH, AND they have BEAUTIFUL cakes, so i got a cupcake to sample! THIS IS THE BEST WHITE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING I'VE HAD! The cake is moist & has flavor! But the chocolate ICING is PERFECT! It actually tastes like homemade (better than any homemade actually!) that's creamy yet chocolate that's not grainy or weak! OMG, I'm in heaven!

This Bakery reminded me of when I was a kid, living in Southern CA, & we had a little neighborhood family-owned cute, Bakery that we loved. I've never seen anywhere like it until I walked into this one. Took me back in time!

I'll be back to get my birthday cakes here and it's worth the drive!

Achenbach's Bakery is an institution in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and has been around since the 1950's. Their long johns and glazed donut pastry are something you crave and have to get your fix every now and then. You will not be disappointed.

My family and I adore this bakery! Everyone here is always so friendly and kind. We often purchase Long John's and cupcakes when we come. Recently however, I told my hubby that all I wanted for my Birthday was a chocolate cake with chocolate icing. Well, he called the bakery, placed an order, and boy did they deliver! The cake was incredibly delectable, beautifully decorated, and not overly sweet! This was our first time getting a cake here but it definitely will NOT be the last! Thank you so much!

The young lady who waited on me was very nice and professional and was working alone but took everyone in due time and enjoyed the smells and music

What an inviting bakery to stop in! Achenbach’s has fresh baked goods, cute products and a super friendly staff. Love it here. You have to stop in for a Long John, the tastiest pastry in town! And grab a plushie for your friends. They’re adorable!

Best pastries in Lancaster. The Long John’s and the Peanut Butter or Vanilla Raisin Iced Ring Bun’s are my favorites.

The long john donuts are a family favorite. We get them made into cakes for birthdays and even had a long john wedding cake for my son’s wedding. Delicious and beautiful decorating work!

I will drive for long johns! Our office assistant is leaving to have a baby and her favorite treat is Achenbach's long john's! I live in the opposite direction and my boss told me to just get them elsewhere....uh..no way. Not the same! Picked up peanut butter and plain! Worth the drive and calories!
