AJ's Bar -N- Grill

Got a sweet American pie and an order of hot wings, both were very good. The pizza reminded me of Old Forge style with a great sweet sauce. Sounded like the band playing there was a good time, wish I could've stayed. Staff was very nice as well.

Went in for some munchies and shai the bartender was very helpful. Convinced me to try the deep fried pot stickers..

If you're looking for the old-school night out, this is the place! Great crowd and the service is great. Ordered a tray of square pizza to take home and it was delish! Sauce is sweet so, no heartburn from the tomatoes, Great balace of flavors. Great place!!! Will be returning!

This is exactly the kind of venue our area needs. Live music every week. The owner is committed to making Aj's a destination and I (a local) couldn't be happier. This is where I go when I go out.

Had an urge to just have a couple drinks and a tasty late night meal, and AJ's delivered perfectly. Had the Hot Bleu sauced wings and deep fried pierogis, and they were as good as can be. Crisp wings despite being sauced completely, and pierogis just deep fried to perfection. Bartenders were attentive and friendly as can be. I look forward to coming back to try more of the menu for sure, if the wings are anything to go by, since they're so hard to find done well. If a place can do them this good, betting the rest of the food is as golden.

Update - Food is as golden as can be like I assumed. Got the 'waurin burger', basically a chili cheeseburger. And it was beyond fantastic, the best burger I've had in quite awhile. Absolutely not a handheld food, needed a knife and fork for it, and nothing wrong with that, an absolute treat. Onion rings on the side, and they were completely perfect. No onions sliding out of their batter, just what you want out of them. Another round of chicken wings as well, and like before, completely delicious and damn near perfectly cooked, not soggy with sauce, somehow crispy while also coated in a delicious sauce.

I'll be definitely hitting this place up more often to try their other foods. Drinks are nice too, whiskey sour isn't much more than the pre-mixed stuff, but tasty enough, and absolutely given a generous portion. I don't know the amount of alcohol in comparison to the mix, but it tasted good and at the end of things, that's what matters to me.

Had a great time on date night with my husband! The French dip was tasty and the wings were amazing. The bartender was our waitress and we loved her!

From the owners down to the staff it is well seasoned ...just like their delicious food! I swear they put every penny back into the business to enhance our experience. Continuous weekend entertainment! I can't wait to see what the future brings!

This place had character. More than your average bar, this spot had a group of chicks in their 40s who started off by one telling me they'd take me out back behind the dumpster if I wanted and then quickly switched into aggression mode over who was next on the pool table. Lol. Great experience and definitely recommend if you just aren't feeling like having another one of those same old boring nights.

I don't remember the barmaids name but she was a large girl very friendly and what are the best bar maid in Carbondale. It's no wonder that AJ's Bar and Grill is such a success. It's because of people like her I believe she said her name was Jesse or Jessica.
