Such a great vibe with delicious drinks and food! The seating area is so much bigger than it looks from the street since the building has 2 large rooms in the back. Lots of places to sit and relax, colorful and fun decorating, and delicious options for teas, coffees and breakfast & lunch options. Under recent new management and the owners are delightful!

I love Higher Grounds Cafe! It's a wonderful place to stop for some excellent coffee, delicious fare, and delightful treats, as well. The owners are welcoming and eager to go the extra mile to please their customers. It's the great kind of local establishment where the owners know and remember what kind of food or drink I like and exactly how I like it - which is pretty amazing in this day and age - a pleasant touch, for sure. I also really like the decor and the atmosphere, as well. It's a great place to treat yourself with a special drink or to meet with some of your friends. Well done, Higher Grounds Cafe!

Such a great coffee shop! We came in today and the owners remembered our daughter and her order from her last visit! She thought that was so special! The Honey Lavender Latte is amazing!! Such a gem!

Absolutely delightful cafe with great atmosphere!
The owners are wonderful and the food is delicious. I enjoyed an incredible, soft and fresh English muffin and a delicious hot chocolate; the chai latte is also excellent.
We will definitely be returning!

What a great place! I came across it waiting for my to finish her dentist appointment. I was heading to Dunkin and thought local would be way better and I was right! Super friendly staff, the quiches were delicious and the coffee is great! Due to Covid you can get curbside pick up or walk in and wait outside for them to bring you your order. I highly recommend this cute coffee shop. The pastries looked delicious too :)

We absolutely love this little coffee shop. Baristas are wonderful, the coffee is fantastic and the baked oatmeal is wonderful. We wanted to try the quiche but they were all out. Can't wait to visit again. #Smallbusinesssaturdays

I have picked up coffee here, and sweets to go and have eaten-in as well. The place is just great in and of itself. Super good feel and vibe. Coffee and pastries top shelf to boot. Add it all together and BOOM - superb spot. Putting this on my list as best coffee in town and closest to home. Both of them move HIGHER GROUNDS CAFE above Starbucks while living or working at home!!! Stop in if you are in town. You’ll agree!

This place is one of the best stops to make while in mount joy. The coffee is better than Starbucks(whatever that means to you) the atmosphere is homely, and overall a sense of calming will overcome you if you stay a while.
There's plenty of seating for you and your friends if you're looking for a quaint hangout spot with good food and delicious coffee.

I haven't been to Higher Grounds Cafe in a little while, but the service and the food and the atmosphere are as excellent as always, these ladies put their heart and soul into every dish and coffee that they serve!! Two thumbs way up, and five stars shining bright for Higher Grounds Cafe!!

Great coffee. But I really wish they opened at 8 on Saturday. I have to start work just before they open. They'd probably get a ton of business when soccer season is in if they opened before 9 cause that's when the games are starting!

Yummy food. Good coffee. The only issue is they only take cash so make sure you have some. And the people are very sweet. They will do their best to give you the drink that you want even if they never made it before.

I’ve been coming here since day 1 of this cafe...and I don’t see that changing. I’ve of course become friendly with the owners Kathy and Ashley and even to the point that they know what I want, even if I just walk in and say change it up to...-...they know exactly how I like it prepared. Make sure you bring cash, they do not accept cards which keeps their prices below the ridiculously overpriced Starbucks...and they’re better than Starbucks! Your visit here will not be disappointing!

Cash only. Coffee is superb. Service isn't good....it's fantastic. Another fine example of what makes Mount Joy such a great place to live in. Thanks for the exceptional coffee and friendly smiles.

I frequent higher grounds about weekly. I have always had great customer service, with great coffee and AMAZINGLY INCRDIBLE quiche. A previous poster mentioned not being able to plug your laptops into the outlets, I was the other customer that walked in. The chords were running across the floor and it definitely was a fire hazard. Also there were outlets with plastic caps on them blocking outlets that shouldn't be used, yet the poster pulled them out of the wall to use the outlets that were clearly not to be used. I come in there weekly with my laptop, and I never have to charge it. You should probably charge your devices before expecting to use everyone's electric while creating an unsafe environment for others.

Friendly staff, delicious food and great coffee. And my coffee sleeve said "God is good! Always!" Love it, highly recommended!

Very good coffee! Nice staff that can customize any order. I love to order the toasted marshmallow frozen latte, highly recommend it!

Owners were very friendly and have a great sense of humor! definitely one of the cooler places to visit in Mount Joy plus they serve a good cup of coffee.

I stop in pretty much every day! Coffee is always delicious! Today I got the Dominican blend with a shot of espresso! Wow! So good! Best coffee always!

I pop by here every chance I get. Fast, friendly Amazing food. It's so wonderful that the chef and owner is a long time chef! I love the vibe under the new ownership!!!

Great coffee. Even better quiche. Bring cash only...no plastic accepted. Limited menu. Changes daily everything made fresh. Awesome little coffee shop. Closed Sunday's.
