You have to understand the nature of this establishment.

Its been family run for quite a while.
Im not from here, but I've lived a few blocks away, for about 7yrs.

This awesome hoagie shop has been around for well over a decade. And, its super close to a nice college, in a great area of Dunmore/Scranton.

They are "authentic" NEPA hoagie makers and "mom and pop" business.

Im a HUGE fan of Jersey Mikes, but you get equivalent quality of hoagie here!
You do get a smaller size, than say, a hoagie at Jersey Mikes, but you will be satisfied with the quantity and quality, especially for their price!

Its a very small place. If I were to categorize it, I would say it's a deli/convenient "neighborhood" shop (with 90's Clinton nostalgia).

Sure, you have to pay in cash, as well as wait a little if you show up, out of the blue....but if you are in the area and need a great hoagie, this is definitely the place to go.

You will 100% be better off calling about 20min before expecting your hoagie and giving them a detailed order.
I nearly always get a roast beef and chess hoagie, but their steak and cheese hoagies are awesome as well!

Hanks never disappoints with their outstanding hoagies.

Hands down best Italian hoagie in this area!

I had an italian hoagie, it was good, made quickly. No frills, no gimmicks, simply good food at a good price. Not very busy at 11:30 AM. Call your order in ahead of time.

I used to take care of someone who recommended this place, as her kids own it now. She was not kidding. The hoagies are so simple but great. When you walk in there you immediately get a taste of the past!! Love it! Keep it up hanks!

Hoagies are delicious and not over priced. The "special sauce" is my favorite! Even during busy lunch hours wait time is never long. Hanks is one of my favorite spots. Just remember - cash only!

I have been going to Hank's since I've 5 or 6 (almost 40 years now). It has changed hands a few times since them, but the current owner keeps it the same as it has always been. Just delicious hoagies and sandwiches always made with the freshest ingredients. Very reasonable prices. Old time sodas. My kids love going here also. Every milestone birthday and many family parties have a "tray of Hank's hoagies" at them. Great place! Great people! Great memories!!!

I don't understand how the menu is so simple, yet so darn good.
It's basically cold cut hoagies. That's it, and yet it's absolutely delicious.
Pick up lunch here instead of those mediocre chain restaurants and fast food joints.
You'll be supporting a local business, and I guarantee you'll be hooked.

Best ever! Hands down, if I was able to I would give them 20 stars if not more! Everything about Hanks is great, starting from the owners, staff, environment, service. Your day just gets better as soon as you walk in the place.

A quintessential part of Green Ridge culture... Mr. Owens and his family have been making one of my favorite steak and cheese hoagies since the good old days back at Saint Paul's.

Always the freshest ingredients... and those hoagie buns are just the best around!

My husband used to go here when he was a kid. Lived catty corner from the place. He thought it was closed for good. I seen it was open so we went. He said the food tastes just like it did when. He was a kid. To the ppl who own it now ty. Ty for keeping the sandwiches the same, and bringing back my husband's childhood memories. We I'll be back again. The hoagies where they beat I had in a long time.

I've been going to Hanks since Kindergarten. I'm in my 60's. President Joe still grabs a hoagie when he comes to town.

One of the cutest local hoagie shops. Best tasting hoagies by far and reasonably priced.

Great place for a hoagie. The tuna is a good choice or the roast beef with swiss. Try the Hank's special sauce on the roast beef you wont be disappointed.

Prices are reasonable and a bit less than some others. Food is top notch. Seems to be a ma and pop type restaurant with quality food and service. Little local spot.
