Been coming to this place since I was a kid. Great memories. Typical American diner food. Love the rustic atmosphere that always gives me a nostalgic rush.

Met an amazing group of Comrades, whom were the highlight of my day. Very down to earth and a delight to converse with even though it was brief.
Food was good. Our waitress was on point and very friendly!
Will be back again soon!

This is a great stop for breakfast with very unique decor and a comfortable atmosphere. I had a western omelette that exceeded my expectations and some delicious home fries. Prices were very very reasonable and you dont leave hungry. The boy even ate all of his eggs which is a rare occasion. Service was fast and friendly and overall a great experience.

I actually go here a bunch. They have the best breakfast foods and the bacon is incredible! The staff is friendly and food comes out quickly even when it's busy.

I love going to McDonnell's! The food and service and atmosphere are so cozy and delicious and the prices are great! I love that we can have breakfast anytime of the day. Especially since my man and son both work nights so their breakfast time is in the evening. The food has a yummy homemade vibe so whoever is doing the cooking there clearly loves what they do! Not once did we have bad service and that says a lot because many places these days have horrible service! My new favorite place to eat since coming to Carbondale! I recommend the beef slices in au jus for dinner. The green fielder or French toast for breakfast and any of the burgers for lunch! Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻

Great staff, home cooked food.

2nd generation owner-manager. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his business and very people oriented. Great place to eat, a great atmosphere, great prices, and very good for catering and special events at a dedicated, private picnic grove.

We had a great experience having lunch with some friends. Great food and friendly staff. We'll be back for.dessert!

My daughter has spagetti & meatballs, we loved the meatballs & the sauce. The meatballs was moist & meaty. I had the 4 pc. fried chicken with mashed potatoes, brocc./w/ cheese. Everything was wonder the chicken need to b more meaty. But I did love the chicken, the breading & the chicken was fried the way i like it. Moist & juicy inside. Our waitress was never nice & I would make the 31 minute drive everytime to eat there again.

Very "family feel Atmosphere" family owned & the owner came out and spoke with us.

Good small town restaurant with good food and country atmosphere. I have been eating here most of my life.

The only reason why I'm giving a five star rating is because that's as high as I can go. The food is excellent, the service is wonderful and the atmosphere is cozy and warm. I'm from North Carolina and when I travel to Carbondale, this is the only place I eat at. I highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed!!!

Absolutely wonderful staff. Beth, Cathy, Diana, and Cindy are so friendly. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a Hi.
The food is delicious.
We eat in and order out many times during the week.

The food was fresh and very reasonably priced. The server was prompt and friendly. Typical diner fare, but the boneless wings were homemade! Yummy! The whole family loved it, and I loved the bill when it came, a little over 60 bucks for a family of five. Granted it could have been more if we had ordered more expensive stuff, but a great value! Lots of cool antiques on display too.

Was staying in town for work and found this gem.

Fun family environment, home cooked food. This has been a family traditon and favorite for generations. We currently take our daughter every Sunday for breakfast with her great grandfather. You feel like part of the McDonnells family
