Kōl Grill

We enjoyed our meal. The food was very well prepared and well seasoned, and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

The cuts of meat are all high quality too, which is always nice to see. We definitely plan on coming back!

We had a baby shower at the Kol Steakhouse earlier this month. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We were never rushed or inconvenienced. The food was excellent! We were very pleased with our experience. Also, we stayed overnight in the Hotel Anthracite. Again, we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the comfort it offered. The complimentary breakfast was a treat, as well. We ended up having all our meals at the Kol Steakhouse and they were great, as was the staff. High marks, no regrets!!!

Megan, the bartender at Kol, has always been wonderful to my coworkers and myself whenever we stop for a drink after work. The service is great, and the drinks are inventive and delicious. Kol also boasts one of the best liquor selections in the area. While I have not yet had food from Kol, those in the groups I often go with have remarked on it's great taste and quality.

Every time I go to a new restaurant I order a simple burger to get a feel for what their cooking standards are like. If you can't make a good burger I'm completely uninterested in anything else on the menu. This place blew me away.

They absolutely NAILED a simple LTO cheeseburger. Honestly it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Sometimes I feel like I'm too critical of restaurants until I see one that does things right. 10/10 burger. Absolutely perfect.

If I could offer one counterpoint though, their food was a bit pricey. $9 for a glass of Merlot. Together my wife and I had a 1/2 price appetizer each, one alcoholic drink each, and a burger each. $75 before tip. The food was amazing though. The pork belly steak with the balsamic glaze was the kind of thing we are still talking about. So, quality food at premium prices? All I know is that if I want a burger done right I know where to go.

I had a fantastic steak dinner at KOL while on a work trip in Carbondale. The restaurant was slow that evening which is a shame because locals should be taking advantage of this downtown amenity!

AFTER POSTING A NEGATIVE REVIEW AND THEN HAVING CHAD THE MANAGER CALL TO FOLLOW-UP ON MY REVIEW I AM VERY HAPPY AND WOULD GO BACK. He went into how they took my comments and have made changes to improve service/quality. VERY NICE TO SEE HOW CONCERNED THEY ARE ABOUT THE FOOD! Very disappointing meal. First off all the 2 waitresses were very nice and helpful - not their fault. It was a Culinary package as part of our room stay. (which no one seemed to know anything about???) For a Steakhouse the ambiance had little to offer. No table clothes, other tables not setup, not "dining room" music playing. Food the crab cake was a 10. other than that my wife's steak house salad was a 1/8 size wedge of iceburg lettuce and a few 1/2 cut cherry tomatoes! she added steak which was cut up slices (menu made it sound like a 6 oz steak) My NY strip was Rare, not medium rare and very hard to cut, didn't finish it. I could have gotten a better dinner at a diner! :( waste of $100.00) told the front desk and they were like "oh that's too bad)

Ate here 2 years ago for a Valentine’s Day special and it was nothing but amazing. The steaks were cooked to perfection and it came with a dessert (lava cake) that was to die for. It also was decorated at the time for our table in honor of the holiday and made the day/moment even more special for my girlfriend and I. The staff were so accommodating and kind to us. Nothing but good things to say about this place - craving to come here again!!! Please check it out!

I have shared photos. We had dinner there two days ago, drinks last evening and breakfast this morning. Food was wonderful. Lovely ambiance. Servers and bartender went well out of their way to be sure that we had everything we needed. Did not get to post pictures of our lobster tail dinner with risotto as we dug into it immediately! Clean, well appointed restaurant. Staff made us feel welcomed.
I did post pictures of my breakfast waffle with strawberries and his vegetable omelette with mozzarella.
If we lived anywhere near this place, I would frequent it. Whenever I travel back up here, I will make it a point to visit Kol again

First time. My wife and I enjoyed our meal very much. The service was too notch. Our server Eileen was funny and new the menu inside and out. From the appetizer to the dessert it was delicious. We will definitely return.

Our server Taft was intuitive, he knew we were there to relax with our wine and enjoy our meal. We started with the single tier seafood tower, it was delicious and we highly recommend the ahi tuna tartare. The shared cowboy steak was the right portion for two and our side dishes, gouda mashed potatoes and 3 cheese creamed spinach we're perfect for sharing as well as tasty. The wine was excellent and my husband said his beer was chilled just right. We will go back when we are in town again!

Eileen, our waitress, and Emily our bartender we're amazing. They were great and made sure we had everything we needed. They were just awesome and I would definitely give them both 5 stars

Oh my gosh! Best food ever! I had the bacon steak appetizer and portobello sandwich and our bartender Stephanie made the best drinks ever!!! 😘😘😘coming back!

First time here and not the last! Food was incredible! Very interesting appetizers. The menu was advanced. The steaks were exquisite!

The team at KOL and the Hotel Anthracite are outstanding. Chef Jim is masterful with the meals and the GM Chad is always on point.

Excellent dry aged steak, upscale atmosphere, a welcome addition to Northeast PA hidden in Carbondale.

staff is great food was excellent and the winston cigar whiskey drink was awesome. only complaint was very expensive for the area .
