This is a smaller sized park offering a large variety of activities. It’s beautiful all year long. Ideal for cooling off in the summer in the water, picnicking, playing a game of baseball and hiking, enjoying the fall and winter landscape. Seasonal camping is available.

Quaint little State Park. It's really small. Great place for a little birthday party. Also on the other side of the park you can camp out with a tent. Not too much to do here . Took some photos. But it's not as large as the other state parks in the state. For a nice afternoon to relax and kick back with your feet in the water. I would recommend it. But for a big hike and spacious park I recommend other state parks in the state of Pennsylvania.

Beautiful, 78 acre state park that is surrounded by state forest land. There are many recreational activities to be found while visiting this state park. A nice spot to have a picnic or a larger family outing at a pavilion and take use of the play field area. There is good trout fishing in the stream when weather permits. A tent only seasonal campground with nice restroom and shower facilities can be found at the northern end of the park. The Mid State trail and several other trails start or traverse the park as well. All in all a wonderful place to spend time in the outdoors!

Beautiful trails. Multiple entrances, so hope your maps are a bit better than mine.
Parking. Picnic tables. Pit toilets.

If you are studying bryology, this is your laboratory. Look at all the moss on the rocks in the pictures I've posted.
The park is just off rt 880 and has a roadside picnic pavilion and scattered tables. However, it's got more than other roadside state parks.
There's a tent only camping area to one side just a little to close to the road for my taste.
There's a ballfield and the nearby Rauchtown Creek with a little dam.
A trail leads to the Castle Rocks, and the thousand steps trail that intersects the mid-state trail.
A pleasant place for an afternoon picnic and maybe a field game or hike.

Very secluded and private. Cool Creek water to cool off in. The weather is at least 15 degrees cooler there on any hot day. The place is just plain beautiful.

Modern restrooms near the camping area were a pleasant surprise at this little park. The swimming area is a bit slimy but it's incredibly pretty and probably a lot cleaner when more people are using it.. the CCC really did some amazing things back then.

Beautiful, quaint getaway in central PA. Loved the camping site offerings. It's very well kept and staffed by friendly, helpful rangers. The upkeep is outstanding. Definitely have to hand it to the folks who keep it clean.

Campers are generally friendly and respectful - this is a fantastic, perfectly balanced area of being close enough to a town and being isolated enough for a exceptional experience.

This is a great park, small but spacious. Come here to clear your mind and receive some silence from the city.

We saw a few horse buggies too!

Great little place to camp hike or just relax. The road is close to the grounds although not a deal breaker. Plenty of firewood to pick nice bathrooms and a cool ranger. Only suggestion would be to put up a public power outlet to charge things aside from that great place 👍

Great place to go on a picnic, to get pictures taken, and even beautiful enough to get married there (a few of my friends & old family have gotten married there and it was absolutely beautiful!)
