Several years ago a friend and I spent the day a Woodcock Hill for a gun fitting. During the day I looked at an LC Smith they had for sale. I had been wanting one so I purchased it. I paid to much for it but that was completely my fault, I should have researched prices first but Woodcock was 5 hours from home and I didn’t want to research and maybe have it be sold before I could get back. Again, 100% my fault. My friend and I decided to have the stocks bent to fit us (after our fitting). Bad idea on an LC Smith since those guns due to side plate fitting are prone to cracking at the wrist. Mine ended up with a couple small cracks that had to be repaired. Not being experienced with LC Smiths having the issue I didn’t know about that particular issue but since Woodcock was in the business I would think they would have been. Also the short amount of time it took them to bend a stock should have raised a warning flag. They must have used steam or hot oil in order to bend stocks as quickly as they did (one day). Anyway, a week later I had a gunsmith look at one of the guns they bent the stock on and he found rust on the in workings of the trigger assembly so I showed him the other newer gun and it also had rust. He suggested I have my friend bring is guns in (all of these guns were high value guns) and they were starting to rust as well. None of the guns were badly rusted just the beginning of some rust. Again, all the guns except one were high end relatively new guns. If you have had a stock bent by them I would suggest just as a precaution, have it inspected and cleaned afterward. Other than that they should be ok.
