This is one of the best hotels I've ever been to. For a very small premium compared to other hotels in the area, you get gorgeous views, high-quality beds, clean and spacious rooms, helpful & personable staff, all within a state park and the ability to see the eco-friendly operation! For a small hotel, the breakfast is also better than most large hotel chains I've been to before. The hotel is also surrounded by beautiful hiking trails and for the summer months, there is a beach on the other side of the park within walking distance.

The Nature Inn is a beautiful eco-lodge. The rooms are gorgeous with a patio or porch available for each room, either forest or lake facing. The beds are comfortable and there is more than enough room for you to bring a few groceries for your stay. The nearest place to get food besides the free breakfast they offer for guests is a Sheetz about 20 minutes away.

The Inn is nestled in beautiful Bald Eagle State Park with more than enough gorgeous views to go around. The trails are very walkable and there are about 3 you can start a few steps from the Inn. The fishing pier located about 5 minutes away was beautiful and even on a pretty brisk day my husband and I both caught beautiful perch.

I would be remiss to not mention how QUIET this place is. I probably spent a good few hours on the porch enjoying the silence. We arrived at night and heard nothing but deer right below us stepping on some leaves. This place is truly magical.

I would recommend the Inn to anyone looking to get away and reconnect with nature. It is a good drive away (3.5 hours for us) from SEPA but so very worth it.

This lodge is beautiful and clean. It was quiet during the off-season, which I liked. I like how each room is named after a bird. The breakfast every morning has a variety of hot and cold items. They have a small library with some books and a sitting area as well as a children's discovery area with books, some toys, and a seating area. I love that they are eco-friendly and encourage recycling. The only downside was that the lake was drained.

Gorgeous inn and gorgeous view of the lake! We stayed here for Penn State move in weekend and it was a wonderful stay! The inn is so unique and I loved that each room was named after a different bird. I also loved their commitment being more environmentally friendly. The rooms were clean and very spacious, with each room having a balcony or patio. I also loved that they had a library in the inn, it was a great place to go and get some work done! Breakfast here was amazing, probably the best hotel/inn breakfast I’ve had. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

We stayed in the basic suite on the lake side in early spring. The room was spacious, clean, and the view was beautiful. We had breakfast and dinner on site and the food was plentiful and delicious. The staff are very nice and accommodating. The customer service was fantastic!

The Lodge is very neat and clean! Our lake facing room on the second floor was nicely laid out, very clean and made me feel comfortable.

The staff are very pleasant, helpful and friendly.

Breakfast was very good. Dinner had to be ordered in advance and came as a boxed meal. I believe that changes after April 24. Our dinners were excellent.

Ended up here by chance because my car broke down, but we could not have found a more lovely place to stay! We are planning a new trip just so we can come back here and stay! Gorgeous area, beautiful rooms, very cozy spot. Loved it here.

Stayed one night at the Inn on a cross-country trip. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet day/evening in a peaceful setting. Our room was a basic suite. Spacious and very clean. Accommodations are simple but with everything you need. We did the You Grill It dinner which you order ahead and food is prepped when you arrive. Everything was delicious and easy to prepare on the outdoor grills. Grounds have lots of places to sit and enjoy the scenery, including some with fire pits, firewood provided. Staff is friendly and helpful. Modern amenities in a beautiful natural setting.

We had our wedding weekend hosted at Nature Inn this past weekend. When I tell you that it was the most outstanding and professional service I have every experienced, I mean it! The staff was friendly and accommodating, giving us and our guests every ounce of their attention all weekend. Our guest were treated respectfully and the staff went above and beyond in all levels of service. The facilities were spotless and beverages were continuously stocked for us all weekend. Nature Inn provided the most unique wedding venue experience I've ever known, and it was worth every single penny. Cannot recommend this venue enough!

This was one of the nicest places to stay while vacationing. The view from the rooms balcony was breathtaking. The Inn provides a wonderful full breakfast each morning in the main area on the first floor. The Staff is friendly and very helpful. Overall, staying at this location was excellent. Had a bit of difficulty with cell phone service desk though; logged into their wifi, and then my service would not allow dialing into the phone's voicemail...kept reading as "emergency calls only" allowed. That was very frustrating. Was able to reach my voicemail after leaving the Inn.

This hotel has been one of my favorite places to stay at ever, rivaling some significantly fancier and more expensive places. Everything about our stay there was absolutely lovely, and it was one of the most relaxing trips I'd ever gone on.

Their commitment to conservation means a lot to me personally, but they do a great job of showing that you don't have to sacrifice comfort to be ecologically friendly. The rooms were beyond comfortable, the shower water pressure was pretty good (I travel enough to know how uncommon this is), the breakfast is amazing, the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The view and nature is just fantastic! I loved going out on the balcony at dawn and hearing the dawn chorus. The fire pit at night is a lovely touch. And there is lots to do all around the area, including bird watching and hiking. It is in a remote area so you do have to drive a little bit if you want to go to State College or something, but the seclusion makes it that much easier to enjoy the nature.

The only thing I wish was better was the wifi connection - it was serviceable but spotty, making me hesitate to go there for a work-cation. But I truly want to go back one way or another!

I filmed a wedding at this venue and it was lovely! Kashia and the staff were all amazing and helpful and the grounds are amazing and well kept! You truly cannot beat the view that the nature inn provides of the mountains and lake. Truly incredible. I also hosted my sisters baby shower here and it was the perfect venue for it! Highly recommend to all future couples looking for a wedding/event venue!

This is a gem for families. They welcomed us with crayons and coloring sheets. There is a common area with other nature-oriented books and games for children. And the trails that originate from the inn were perfect for nature walks for little legs.

The room was very comfortable and meticulously clean with gorgeous views, including bird watching from the balcony. The hearty breakfast fueled us for long days enjoying the outdoors. The wide patio and firepit seating were perfect for relaxing with coffee each morning and evening.

My only wish would be for brighter lights in the bathroom. But that is a very small issue and didn't detract from the magic we felt during our stay.

We love the Nature Inn and will be visiting again.

The Nature Inn, nestled in Bald Eagle State Park, is quiet and comfortable and lovely and thoughtfully planned. It features plenty of natural light; decks, patios and picture windows overlooking the lake; a few nooks for writing or reading or playing games. The rooms are cozy and impeccably clean and have ceiling fans as well as windows that open, decks and heating and cooling systems (and TV that I had no desire to use). An overnight stay comes with a hot breakfast which is simple and deliciously well prepared. And the staff are wonderfully friendly, helpful and good humored. You couldn't ask for a nicer retreat from the bustling world.

We loved staying at the Nature Inn! The lakeside room was spacious and comfortable. We had a great view of the lake from the balcony. The room included a great hot breakfast each day and coffee all day long. The staff was friendly, professional and excellent!

This was the most relaxed I’ve ever been. The views are amazing and the hotel is wonderful. Nicely appointed, solid and beautifully built. Very nice but not pretentious with an amazing breakfast. Staff is friendly and helpful, but again they aren’t hovering over you. I would not recommend staying less than 3 nights, but we were traveling from a good distance away. There’s plenty to do so you could easily stay a whole week.

We went away for a weekend trip for their "Birds and Brews" event. It was our first time here and we were impressed by their eco-friendly accomidations. They had plaques around the lodge explaining what they are doing to be eco-friendly and about the area itself. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful when we needed it.
We got one of the lake view rooms. I highly recommend getting those rooms as the view was great. They have an awesome library room with books, games, DVD's and fossils in the showcase. You also had an overview of the entrance area. Their was plenty of other seating areas on the floor with one being for young children. The library is better for the older kids.
There are plenty of paths and trails to walk on. I went all the way down to the lake. Since it was Winter, not much was happening at the lake.

Only a couple cons. One was that you saw the lodge well before you actually got to it. You have to wind around the mountain a bit to get there. The other one was that outside food was a drive since you were in a State Park. They did have a mini fidge and microwave for any food you brought.

The architect who designed the building was brilliant because he or she has several exquisite communal areas that allow people who may not have rooms facing the lake to enjoy the lake view. The place is very cozy. The natural elements in the dining area enable nature lovers to feel at peace. The staff is also outstanding. I will be returning to hike and enjoy the lake when it is warmer!
