Giving Pond

Beautiful place with gorgeous views. Picnic tables and grills nearby to the lake that’s perfect for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Plenty of wildlife including many turtles. Fair amount of parking and typically not too busy. A hidden gem!

Great place to chillex.

It is a nice place for hiking, birding, picnicking and fishing. Non-motorized boats allowed, but no swimming!

There is a ton of nature including deer, fox, and assortment of songbirds and waterfowl even a few bald eagles.

Weekends can be problematic because of the limited parking and tickets will be issued if you dont park in a designated parking area.

Port-o-potty is available.

What a beautiful place to kayak/canoe! Doesn't appear to be a crowded spot. Fishing is great. Some nice picnic tables. Great place to bring kids fishing.

Went to fish, caught 4 bass. The place is beautiful, quiet and great for kayaking. Which I will be doing next time I go.

Awesome place to kayak, especially for beginners! Looks like great fishing And must have seen a couple hundred turtles on the banks this morning. Also it's nice to see water rescue equipment on hand for public use in an emergency. 👏

Very nice lake with picnic tables and grilled set up around the lake. There's fishing and motorless boating as well. Nice place for a picnic.

This place is so beautiful & interesting! You can go fishing, picnic, hike, kayak, or, just admire the scenery & wildlife.

When I grew up, I played in the SAME SPOT when it was a quarry...I remember running up and down rock piles. I'm Not sure exactly what happened, but, with the flooding of the quarry, The only way to explain it is... The river & The canal had a baby, and, called it The giving pond :)

Lovely!!!! I enjoyed taking our kayak out on this interesting body of water.... it felt like I was on a few different bodies of water. I always like slightly swampy areas and there was a small area like this.

Unique location, quiet and amazing how nature is turning this former cement company into a natural site.

It's a nice quiet little lake/pond. Good for kayaking and fishing.

Excellent place to go kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, fishing or to have a picnic.

Attended an amazing kayaking program with DCNR there. The Giving Pond is a very cool hidden gem.

Nice peaceful place to catch some fish, but be alert hoodlums like to break into cars while your not near them.
