What a great little place to grab lunch or dinner. We've been eating here for years. Usually we get their cheesesteaks, but we've had several other things on the menu as well and it's all delicious.

Great cheesesteak all around. The problem with it is I don't want to try anything else. I'm not a huge fan of too much sauce, but I would recommend asking for extra on the side. I gave five stars for atmosphere, because there is no dine in option. It's a great little roadside stop to get great sandwich shop food at great prices. Great detour off 222 if your heading either direction

First time I stopped. Passed them many times bit never stopped. Pulled over down the street, read the reviews on their steaks and felt I needed to try one. Turned around and pulled in. Best cheesesteak I've had in a long time! Packed with steak meat, not filler. Asked for sweet peppers on top. Very tasty! Tons of fries.
Reminded me of growing up in Allentown in the 60s with lots of in-town corner family eating place, before pop-up fast food franchises. Some little places still survive and they always beat franchise fast food. Nothing compares!

Esterly's Mertztown, PA. 3rd generation cheesesteak makers. These cheesesteaks have been around the world. I love this area. This is a converted house. I am 90% certain that the grill room use to be someone's bedroom. It is the ‘no grease’ cheesesteak. The 'no grease' makes it a great traveling cheesesteak. $5.90, yes $5.90. At $5.90, if you live in this area you are wasting money if you don't eat here every night. It had the Pennsylvania Dutch soft roll. That is a very good change-of-pace roll. Sneaky good amount of meat for $5.90. Very good amount of cheese and very good cheese melt. With ‘no grease’ you can really taste the meat and the cheese. Nice sauce and I like the big chunks of fried onions but I wish they were mixed in with the meat & cheese. Overall, very good cheesesteak. @Mikeyyyeatz did a very good job.

Lots has changed, but Esterly's is still just as solid as it was 15 years ago when I first started going. Love this place!

Fantastic cheesesteak. Comes with sauce unless you request no sauce.

I have loved this place since moving to Bowers in 2005! (We now live in fleetwood)
Just recently, our church had a ladies fellowship and ordered 18 cheesesteaks to be ready on a Saturday morning by 10am!! They were nice and fresh. Everyone loved them...and all the extra pickles and sweet peppers on the side!

This little shop should DEFINITELY get more recognition. Fiance got a regular cheese steak and it wasn't greasy. I ordered the chicken cheese steak and the meat was tender and far from dry. It's very rare that a sandwich shop can perfect both of these

Best cheesesteaks I've ever had

Great food call in ahead or order there outside picnic table seating. No bathrooms in case you thought. Like there food thay don't deliver you pick up your food. And to,me its not a problem. So you can not go rong at this place. Try it you deside. Want to add on here. You can know the food is fresh here. A long time ago I had a cheese steak at a other place in Kutztown I had there cheese steak and like I said only one time it's omost like esterleys cheese steaks but not100 precent the same. Trust me you can taste fresh from old or how it's put together. So far esterleys is top 10 on the list. This does not include Italian pizza shops. I separate the 2 places. Its great were there located also. Thay get good bizz all the time. There in a great area. Nobody can compete Esterleys As far as your local sandwich shop. Around this area. I also tasted a shop in oley.pa. pretty good. But I'm a regular at Esterleys. Cause also it's close by.

I haven't been here in 30+ years. And a lot of friends and family would always say if I'm ever back in the area again that I need to stop by and get one of their delicious cheese steaks. So today was the day, I was running errands with my Dad when he told me he was hungry. So I suggested that we go to Esterly's to get the "Famous Cheese Steak" that I keep hearing about. And I am so glad that we did because it was absolutely delicious!!!!!!

This is an amazing cheesesteak! I am very picky , but this is my new go to place. Also got my daughter the hoagie it is packed with meat and cheese she love it.
Put this place on your must go to map and try it out.

Wow, went for the first time. Awesome steak sandwich and fries too. Bring cash no cards. No dine in but 2 tables outside if weather permits. Very busy and now I know why. Can't wait to go back!

Very good non greasy cheese steaks and love the cheese fries. Small local business. Take out only, however weather permitting there are a few picnic tables or you could go just down the street to the bowers park for a table.

yummy! A gem! Delicious cheesesteaks, pierogies and chicken parm sandwich. Is a tiny place attached to a house, you'd not know it was there if someone didn't tell you. Take a drive and try it! You won't be disappointed.

Amazing food, great service. It's simple fare done right. Carry-out only, cash only, but it doesn't take anything away from the experience. If you want to eat on site there is a picnic table available outside for nicer weather. Cheese steaks are out of this world!

They make the best cheesesteak ever and there not cheap on filling up the bun with meat. I recommend them to everyone. Wish they were open longer but if you want a great steak sandwich get there before they close . 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
