Early Bird Espresso & Mercantile

Really good cafe with delicious lattes. Baked good are always a mid bike ride favorite. The place is right in downtown Frenchtown and has seating inside and on some small tables on the sidewalk. They also have a small retail section with coffee related items; french presses, mugs, coffee beans.

My husband and I were driving through Frenchtown and stopped by Early Bird for a regular hot cup of coffee and a cold brew. This was around 3pm, and the brews were fresh (important to highlight as I’ve experienced drinking burnt afternoon coffee in some cafes). Also great customer service! Pleased to have found this spot via Google search - Would definitely recommend!

A super cute coffee shop in the heart of Frenchtown that serves coffee, tea, pastries, and some tasty looking meals. I had a caramel latte that was perfectly sweet and the exact temperature I like, which never usually happens! Staff is super friendThe mercantile area has a bunch of home goods and gifts that were so fun to look through. Would definitely come back!

Earlybird in Frenchtown is a cool little coffee shop that nails it with a mix of cozy vibes and plenty of room to breathe thanks to those tall ceilings. They've got a good coffee selection. Plus, the baked goods are a treat and go perfectly with any drink. Definitely worth dropping by if you're in the area and need your caffeine fix.

Early bird is the perfect environment for a peaceful moment to oneself or a study environment. This is one of few places that cares about their coffee quality. They source local when they can and are always trying new stuff! I love my oatmilk matcha with a seasonal syrup and whatever light reading they have available.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Cute atmosphere and DELICIOUS kombucha. The woman working really went above and beyond to answer my questions about vegan gluten free and soy free options even for things I wasn’t buying. Will 100% be back here!

Perfect little coffee shop with a few indoor tables and a few outdoor tables. Simple and clearly labeled menu with prices displayed on the back wall. They a few food options but is more suited for a quick stop for a beverage during your stroll around Frenchtown.

I loved this little coffee shop, but please cover the pastry — I stopped my order when I saw a fly land on one of them.

As we were visiting, we passed someone and asked what coffee shop they’d recommend. We stopped by in the morning and got a cold brew and a hand pie. We went back multiple times in very short order.

The Early Bird is a welcome new addition to the Frenchtown area. Their interesting espresso and drink options are refreshing. I got their seasonal special: the lavender latte. It was delicious, not too strong but had a nice espresso kick and some sweetness, and was served with a beautiful design on top. While I am fine with dairy, my sister has a sensitivity to lactose. The Early Bird is more than accommodating in their dairy substitutes. They offer almond, soy, or oat milk. She ordered an iced latte with oat milk and it was very delicious and fresh. To minimize waste, the utilize glassware and metal straws, which I appreciate. They also have a little gift-store corner in the back, with all different kinds of trinkets, home goods, and reusable/refillable items. At this point in time, I believe their menu is a bit limited and could be expanded just a touch. Their price points are reasonable given the quality, the staff is friendly, and the environment is clean and welcoming.

Absolutely loved visiting this little town! This coffee shop had some of the best espresso we’ve ever had! I had an iced mocha latte, which was very well made! There were different milk options and the coffee/espresso itself was not bitter or acidic. A very smooth and not overly sweet latte!!

This is where you go for coffee. We tried perfect day cafe based on the 4.9 reviews. We had one sip and walked down the street to Early Bird Cafe and ordered a replacement.

I’ve tried them side by side and Early bird is the clear winner, a bright but balanced espresso perfectly pulled. You don’t need to read another review if you’re in Frenchtown get your coffee here.

Quaint. Has a ton of things that I was itching to buy. I chugged my coffee before I could take a pix. Their beans are really good.

This is the real deal! They make a true cappuccino here. They even weigh the coffee to make every cup just right. We tried several other local spots and this one is absolutely the BEST!

Best vanilla iced latte. I never tasted anything like this. I asked them and said they make in a house. I will come back for this coffee for sure.

Great coffee drinks. One of the roasters they use is Counter Culture in their drinks. Chill vibe, friendly staff. Parking is a bit limited but well worth a little aggravation.
