Great small music store! Very personalized service. I bought an amp, some music and guitar strings and the people were extremely nice and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed it so much more than the larger stores like Sam Ash and Guitar Center. They have instructors waiting to give lessons as well. Will definitely support this place as much as possible.

The guy that took care of me was very helpful and knowledgeable. Told him I was looking for a beginner's acoustic guitar and he played a few so that I could hear them. He didn't try to over-sell me and there was no pressure. When it was all said and done I was very happy with my purchase and will consider them again.

I like going here for smaller purchases primarily (picks, strings, etc.), however I did buy a guitar from here and I can't complain. The employees are always pleasant and helpful. What's really awesome about this store is when I have an inquiry about anything, I can simply go to the counter and ask instead of wandering around aimlessly for 10 minutes and later complaining to the internet that nobody approached me. I love that about this store, and stores in general.

Although I've been fortunate enough to have known Steve since high school, Saturday was my first visit to see him at Menchey Music Service. As always- he was extremely personable, knowledgable, and made us feel very welcomed. His professionalism and strong customer service skills were very refreshing in comparison with my experiences at other retailers in the Reading area. I also truly appreciated the store's quality inventory and general atmosphere. It will be my pleasure to highly recommend Menchey Music Service to anyone on any stage of a musical journey.

I’m so glad I came here first on my journey to get a ukulele! Their prices are very good and the staff was knowledgeable and super helpful. The night I bought mine a string broke (not their fault just cheap strings from the ukulele company) and when I brought it in the next day to get restrung they were so kind and helped me out. I’ll definitely come back again!

I was looking for a local place to take my bass in to get checked out since I was having an issue with the jack not working right. I was quickly greeted by the manager (young guy, maybe Jim??), I waited no more than 10 minutes and my repair was done. This was my first visit to this store, and it wont be my last. Not only was it great customer service, the store was clean and the employees were knowledgable. I will be in sooner than later to pick up a new bass amp. Great selection of guitars, but the bass selection was a bit lacking. The luthier seemed knowledgable and friendly. If they sold guitar & bass hardware (bridges, tuners, saddles, circuits, bass tremolos, etc) it'd be a one stop shop.

Over all, the staff is friendly and helpful, average prices, decent selection & variety. Best store in the area by far.

I bought a Fender guitar here about two weeks ago. I received excellent service and a very knowledgeable sales person ( I want to say her name is Mya? ) I'm very happy with it and will definitely return in the future!

Very positive experience in purchasing a classical guitar right from being allowed to play as many guitars as desired and sales staff tuned the guitars that were out of tune with pleasure. Salesperson went over the guitar and made all necessary adjustments etc. as needed and found us a great bargain on a gog bag. Highly recommend!

Had them adjust the action on my acoustic guitar, dropped it off in the morning and got it back within a couple of hours, which alone is great. My guitar now sounds and plays amazing, it was super cheap and i really recommend bringing your guitar here for a tune up if nothing else. very happy with their work. thanks eddie and jim

I called with a simple request: I needed ONE bridge pin; as it decided to take a vacation somewhere.
“No problem” they said. When I said how much?, they said don’t even worry about it!

Went into the store looking for specific music but they didn't have it in the store. They took my name and had what I was looking for sent into the store for my inspection. A week later they called and said it was now available for my perusal. Four books of music were there and they were exactly what I was looking for. Bought all four books.

Having been to several other Menchey locations (including Hanover), you can find some interesting things at this store that you'd have to special order anywhere else. The store is very clean and bright, and Steven and Laura are two of the friendliest, most helpful people. You guys rock!

The customer service there was amazing. He took the time to hear what I wanted and to help explain things to me. I would travel to go to that store just cause of the service alone
