Trooper Thorn's Irish Beef House

This was the 1st time I ate here, and I will SURELY come back! The food was excellent! I ordered the Roast beef sandwich, which came with rough cut, homemade fries. I couldn't finish it all but it was out of this world! It's also a bit messy, so I was using a fork & knife to cut the sandwich. The messiness was the only downside. Greg & Moira were the 2 ppl that waited on me. My friend & I sat at the bar to provide a better picture. The place looks like it's been around forever, with the building built in the 1800s I'd guess. Prices I can't speak for, as I was invited to eat here & I did not pay. But as I stated in the beginning, I'll be back.

It was my husband's birthday and he wanted fish and chips and again it did not disappoint. We sat at the bar and Mitch served us. It was a great visit great food and service.

We met friends there for dinner and cocktail/beer drinks. Bartender was was great and was our server also. I ordered the crabby patty. My husband ordered the burger special, our friends ordered the shepherds pie and the Reuben. Our sandwiches came with fries. A man came to our table with bottles of tullamore dew and tullamore dew with honey. He offered us "goodies" also. I enjoyed the shot of tullamore with honey and I usually do not enjoy shots. The atmosphere was fun and casual. Will def return.

5 stars are not enough. Great place to watch games and have some bar food, but the weekend specials menu is amazing! Ed Marinita is probably one of the best chefs in the area, his dishes are superb to a point that you would think they belong to a very fine dining restaurant. If you like tacos, Ed makes the best upscale tacos in the area, they are not your regular good tacos, they are authentic Mexican high scale gourmet tacos.

Felt like I was across the pond in a local pub... the beer and whiskey options were many, and the food was amazing.

The staff was friendly and made perfect recommendations on beer and entrees.

I recently visited Trooper Thorns for the first time and had a mixed experience that I would like to share. The staff were incredibly friendly. They greeted me with a smile and made me feel comfortable throughout my visit.

However, I encountered an issue with the quality in the Chatty Monks Endoplasmic Reticulum that I ordered. Unfortunately, it had several large flakes of film settled at the bottom from the draft lines, indicating that they were not properly cleaned. I was disappointed with this oversight, as it affected my enjoyment of the drink. However, I must commend the staff for their response when I brought this to their attention. The bartender promptly apologized and offered to pour me a Lagunitas IPA free of charge. Her willingness to rectify the situation demonstrated her commitment to customer satisfaction.

One aspect that could be improved is the accuracy of the bar's operating hours as listed on Google. According to the website, the bar is stated to be open until 2:00 a.m. However, during my visit, I was told that last call was typically between 12:00 and 1:00 a.m. on weekends. It would be helpful if the bar could update their online information to reflect their actual operating hours, as this could avoid potential confusion for customers.

Despite the issue with the beer and the inconsistency in operating hours, I still see potential in this bar. The friendly staff and their effort to resolve the problem left a positive impression on me. I have read many good reviews about the food and am looking forward to trying it in the future when the kitchen is open. I am willing to update my review based on my experience in the future.

Delicious meals! Burger had to be my favorite! Meat was very juicy and good! Atmosphere was very cool. Many TVs to watch sports, shows, etc.

Trooper thorns has never let me down. Always a solid go to with a great draft, bottle, and spirits selection. The food is always on point as well with oddities you don't normally see at a pub. The price always surprises me as well but in a good way. Upper class on a shoe string budget. If you find yourself in the area with some free time stop in its well worth the visit.

First time here and I must say it won't be the last. Food was amazing and service was great also. Definitely recommend the Scottish egg and Reuben.

Tables and chairs need replaced, but it does distract from the outstanding food, drinks and service. Definitely a gem of a place and will be back when in town again.

Great pub fare for a very reasonable price. The signature sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. Huge selection of domestic and craft beers.

Fish and chips made with fresh cut French fries, are the best! Prices are good.

There are very few bars or pubs in the area that are able to provide this kind of unique, quality environment. Trooper Thorn's beer and liquor selection compliments that so well and competently that you forget how they're a "Triple Threat" with killer traditional Irish dishes and infusions, to boot. This place is perfect for those seeking to embrace the Pub Life, experience some amazing drinks, or enjoy the delicious culinary offerings that aren't really available anywhere else. I came to Trooper Thorn's for all 3 categories and left impressed: a Huge, Delicious Scotch Egg with garnish was $8, a 12.oz bottle of Innis & Gunn Scottish Ale came out to around $8 and a neat Power's Irish Whiskey double only set me back $12.50. Highly recommended.

Best fish and chips I've ever had! I also had the scotch egg which was phenomenal. They also have a large selection of beers to choose from. Definitely will be returning.

We were passing through the area, Sunday evening traveling with our dog, so finding a place to eat was a challenge. We found this place online, called to confirm dog friendly and decided to give it a try. I will say that the outside appearance may not be very inviting but that all changed when we went inside. Since we had our dog with us, we sat outside on the patio adjacent the outdoor bar area. What a great space and a great little hidden gem of a place. Food was good, beer was cold and they even attended to our pup. Very attentive staff. Will be sure to stop by again when traveling by this area.

Kim and Greg are the best!!! The other 2.....eh! Not attentive and please....put some clothes on and leggings are a no!!!!! Trust me, no one wants to see that!
