I really love the old-fashioned nostalgic atmosphere at Klavon’s. It’s one of my favorite ice cream parlors in Pittsburgh. I also really enjoy that they have vegan options for people who may be sensitive to dairy. I also really love that they serve coffee as well. I always get a decaf Americano. Another great aspect about Klavon’s is that they have a large assortment of candy and soda to appeal to your sweet tooth. Definitely make a trip to Klavon’s if you’ve never been there or even if you’ve been there many times. I can’t wait to go back.

LOVE this place! We always have pineapple malts when we are out of town. This place came up on our Google search and it was close by the incline.
So glad we stopped. Sweet piece of nostalgia. The building was a pharmacy and reinvented as an ice cream parlor.
Awesome variety and creative menu.
They also have candy, popcorn, and coffee.

Soooo quirky and fun. Delicious sundaes of all different varieties. Tried the peanut butter and jelly. With vanilla ice cream, peanut butter sauce, strawberry sauce and peanuts. Amazing. My friend got the super sundae that had a bomb brownie and some hot fudge! Also tried their strawberry ice cream and cookies and cream. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in or around the strip district!

Klavons is one of those ice cream shops that echo to simpler times and when ice cream parlors were the place to be! That's not to say this place isn't because it definitely still is! They haven't changed their atmosphere a bit since when they opened and I love it! Classic, old-timey shop serving up classic sweets and treat from old school candy to root beer floats to sundaes and more! They have a few weekly specials of ice cream flavors and have their main menu of staples. Service was friendly, helpful and attentive. The ice cream we had was freaking delicious as I wish I lived in the area to come back and try all the other flavors they have.
My wife and I got the Cookie Doughlicious Sundae which had Cookie Dough Ice Cream, Heath Bar, Caramel Syrup, and Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup! The Wee size is only one scoop but we had the regular which was 2 scoops. The ice cream was rich and dense with tasty bites of cookie dough inside. The cup was filled to the edge with tasty sauces and the heath bar was a nice addition to the dessert. It was topped off with some whipped cream and a cherry on top, of course!
I'm just so sad that because of Covid they aren't using their glassware because that would have really made the experience so special. Regardless, I'm not going to let that affect their rating. You HAVE to try this place if you're looking for ice cream in Pittsburgh.

I’ve wanted to come to Klavon’s since I first heard about it about three years ago in Utah at a different ice creamery named Rockwell’s. I love ice cream when it’s creamy and chunky. Now I know that I need hot fudge swirled on the side of my cup! The three years was worth the wait. I finally made it to Pittsburgh and Klavon’s did not disappoint!! I love the people, the music, the Art Deco style, and the delicious ice cream!!

Klavon's Ice Cream Parlor is a gem tucked away in plain sight on the Strip District. Their ice cream, all of their treats, are absolutely delicious. If you are big on nostalgia then this is the place for you. Come visit this place if you pine for taste of what an ice cream parlor used to be as a visit here us like stepping into a time machine!

Great homemade ice cream with an awesome decor.
Listed as one of the best ice cream shops in Pittsburgh, it was a must try. Ordered the Amaretto chocolate sundae; chocolate ice cream, cherries, brownie bites, amaretto syrup and whip cream. It was delicious. Service was impeccable and very knowledgable about the shop's history. Would fo sure return.

I love the ice cream here, and this is is the first time I had their sodas. The peach ice cream float on peach soda was so good and refreshing. Easy to get back to downtown with the bus stop just outside the shop door.

What isn’t there to like about a place that actually makes its own ice cream 🍨? This place is awesome and the staff and very friendly. I believe they have recipes very similar to Penn State Creamery and that’s a plus in my book. Today we had the cookies and cream, strawberry shortcake, and cookie dough. All three were excellent.

While visiting Pittsburgh we hoped find a local ice cream parlor that was not part of a national chain. Wow. We found it here at Klavon's. Excellent ice cream and wonderful service (with a smile). We loved the decor!

Deelllicious! And such friendly staff. Super helpful and willing to custom order. Loved the mallow cup sundae. Also so many other treats to choose from like old school candy and macarons.

Excellent ice cream in a wonderful throwback to when a drug store had style and ambience and offered homemade ice cream, malts and shakes. The service is friendly. The location on the edge of the Strip District is perfect.

I learned Klavon's was paying their employees$15.00 an hour from a TV interview. I decided to support them. I have been there before, but not for awhile. The pictures tell it all, except how fantastic the service was. Highly recommended.

Loved the nestoalgia. The ice cream was good but not as good as Coldstone or some of the Mexican ice cream places. The atmosphere and feel of the places makes it worth expense. If you haven't been in an old fashioned ice cream parlor then this place is a must.

Came here late Saturday night and there were a decent number of people in here. Very cute, old-fashioned ice cream parlor that has a lot of interesting antiques to look at.
Yelp check in allowed us to get one free sundae each WHICH IS HUGE. Can definitely share with two people or enjoy all on your own! Service is quick and very kind. Ice cream is delicious--I got coffee ice cream with Oreos, fresh hot fudge, and whipped cream--they did a great job with it. The fudge is scrumptious and not artificial tasting at all.
Also, free parking in their lot behind the ice cream parlor with AWESOME ice cream themed murals--these belong in a Museum of Ice Cream.
Make sure you check it out! I'll be back next time I'm in Pittsburgh!

Such a cool little spot! Feels like an old school ice cream parlor complete with a candy bar. Ice cream and sundaes were delicious. Prices were reasonable. Staff was super friendly. Lots of different options!

Such a wonderful, classic ice cream parlor! Formerly a pharmacy with a traditional soda parlor counter, the interior has a beautifully maintained interior, including marble top booths, a vintage tin ceiling, and rich wood paneling. And - three original Bell Telephone phone booths! Great service, old fashioned candy counters, delicious ice cream, and a huge menu too. I recommend the Jeet Yet sundae!

This ice cream shop is a hidden gem, it always looks dark and closed from the outside, but once you step in it is a joyful old school style ice cream shop! They have a ton of delicious options of shakes, floats, sundaes, candy, etc and it all comes in cute glass cups. The staff are all extremely pleasant and it really is a golden experience!

Best sundae ever!
Ice cream/Reese’s ratio was insane you get good chunk of candy bar every bite. Can’t wait to go back to try more flavors!
