Wow what a gem . Stopped here today to try it . I got the fried catfish dinner . 3 big pieces of catfish and it came with bread and 2 sides i got the collards and the blackeyed peas and rice . This did not disappoint. The owner is very nice . Leave this man a tip . His food says it all he loves what he does.

Food was amazing! I also got their potato salad and everything was delicious, fresh and hot! I highly recommend. I am originally from Philly, and I struggled finding an authentic soul food spot, and this place was amazing.

I found Soul Food Connections via a Google search planning a party with my sister from out of state. Mr. Hosea is an old school cook and his food is delicious!!! The partygoers raved about everything, went back for seconds, and took plates to go. My 96 year old grandmother said “Whoever made this food knew what they were doing” before sending me to get her a piece of fried chicken that she didn’t get the first go round. We shared his name/business with all who asked.

The ONLY downside is this business is old school; however it works for him. Place the order over the phone or in person and pay cash. My sister was in town to pay half the balance to secure our request. We were told we’d receive an invoice and it never came, nonetheless he confirmed with us via phone the week of the party and all was well. He has his method and it works.

When in town, I definitely plan to visit during the week for lunch.

The owner and his partner was very friendly. My sister and I had Whiting fish sandwiches. The fish was seasoned and fried to perfection

Perfect soul food spot, from the restaurant decor, staff and service. My husband and I live in the DMV and stopped by on our way home. We ordered fried chicken wings, catfish, salisbury steak, mash potatoes, greens, Hoppin’ John, macaroni and cheese, potato salad and ribs. We were pleased with everything, each item had its distinctive flavor, everything was well seasoned and prices were reasonable. This place deserves a visit!! Wishing the friendly staff and owners all the best. We’ll be back! S/N: it’s a cash only establishment.

Everything about this place is great, his service, cooking area very clean,great hospitality food always good and cooked right and timeliness service. Just a great place over all.

Absolutely delicious. The owner is very nice and has great customer service. I'm pretty picky when it comes to my food and it was cooked exactly like I asked. This place has been around for years and it's because he is consistent and great at what he does. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a great home cooked meal. Please come and check out his lunch menu. Great prices for great food.

Unbelievable!! Trust me if you like good food go now..Everything tasted amazing I travel a lot my sister and I actually drove from the Ohio, West Virginia area in search of some good food.And took a chance and thank God we did ..If you want what's considered Soul Food GoGo Now lol..Because I consider it good food lol what was even more amazing was the owner was there and served us and we got a chance to meet and talked with him..Thanks for everything..

Fantastic fried chicken. Juicy, crispy, well seasoned. Hands down the best fried chicken I’ve had in the city. Affordable prices, efficient and clean kitchen. I called ahead for my lunch takeout and picked it up in 20mins. Will be going there regularly for my treat lunches now!

I work close by and did not happen to bring a lunch, so I googled “food places near me” and found this restaurant. This place is definitely a hidden gem and a must try. Over the phone I initially ordered the fried whiting, greens, & baked Mac. When arrived for pick up, there was an error with my order & I received wings instead of fish. The gentleman offered to fix my order but I declined as I was on a short lunch break. The food was very good and the customer service is on point! Now I have an excuse to return so I can finally taste the fried fish 😊🙂

Got catering for my birthday party: mac n cheese and collard greens. Not only was the owner super sweet about making them last minute, they were delicious and a huge hit. I need to come back and try more food!

Love this place and have been going for over 10 years. It's a "joint" and Genuinely nice people work here. My favorite meal there is a chicken dinner with Mac n cheese or potato salad, and greens and cabbage mixed as my sides. Absolutely delicious! I wish that they stayed open later so that I could get it hot for dinner sometimes.

Food is always fantastic. As well as the greeting was so warm & homey. Only complaint from me is gloves should be wore @ ALL times while handling food & hand washing should be visible during hours of operation. Add that to the list & it's the best!! Thanks

Excellent food, portions, and prices! Very courteous and helpful staff. I hired them to cater my wedding and my family and friends loved the food so much that they hired them too! I also hired Soul Food Connection for work events and everyone was pleased and left raving about the food and catering!

Soul Food Connection catered a 60th/88th Birthday Dinner for myself and my mom. The food and service was excellent

Went for the first time in Jan 2016. Got carryout on a Friday night. Only hiccup was ordering - I couldn't find a menu online so I made the guy who answered through phone talk me through all thst they offer. Fried chicken and ribs were delicious. Candied yams were too, and not too sweet - a good thing. Greens, cabbage and mac cheese were also great. Great food. Reasonable prices. And they gave me a menu when I picked up my order.

If you want a meal that reminds you of what grandma used to make then I suggest you speed over to this place! I have tasted nothing doesn't dance on the tongue! You will love it!

The best soul food you can hope for. Does catering too. Food is FRESH and DELICIOUS and REASONABLY PRICED. You will Love it. Highly recommended. And they are very nice folks too <3
