Awesome spot to camp along the trail... Toilets, water, river access, firewood usually precut and dried. Plenty of spots to camp. The only downside is there are very limited spots for a hammock unless you walk into the surrounding woods which I think is private property. Also the trains can be very loud at night but then again if you are doing the GAP trail you are probably used to that. I love coming here

We stopped here to scope the camping scene, while cycling the GAP. The facilities look great for primitive camping. Large water pump and privies on site. Huge piles of stacked wood for fires. Thanks to the Boy Scouts for improving the camping area. Cool looking cemetery, with a new pavilion. Can't wait to camp here.

Great clean place to camp overnight in tent, hammock, or in one of the two shelters. Lots of split firewood, bathrooms, garbage cans, Pavilion with picnic tables, clean water, lots of room for tents, trees for hammocks, fire pits...all free. Just leave it clean for other campers.

Great primitive camp site. Did my first overnite on the bike and had a great experience. Plenty of wood for cooking and nice pavilion to stay out of the weather if needed. Very clean restrooms. For anyone wanting to hike or bike I recommend you stat with this campground.

Listen for the ghost train at night personally I had many super natural occurrences happen when I went but it’s a cool historical haunted place but don’t sit on the church old foundation at night… you been warned

If you are looking for a free place to set up a tent for the night along the Great Allegheny Passage, this is a great spot. There are about 8-10 fireplaces and plenty of room for a lot of tents. The ground is soft and there is a lot of well kept grass. There is one pavilion with a bunch of picnic tables and there are two lean-tos (perfect for a group) but there is no way to reserve these :(
Latrines are available. The water pump was not working when I stayed this past weekend, but there is a water fountain about a mile down the trail.
If you want a quiet night's sleep, don't stay here because you will hear the train going by about every hour across the river.

This was definitely worth the walk. The campsites were very clean and well kept up. The only thing was the walking trails down to the river were not kept up with. But we are planning to go back here in October

Great camping stop. Right off the trail and river. Has pit toilets and a well. Plenty of firewood, camping spots, and shelters.

Only reason not 5 stars is trains run right across the river every few hours. They are loud and the sound carries all through the valley. Still one of my favorite spots to camp but if you are a light sleeper you may want to bring ear plugs.

Locals have long said it is haunted. It looks like something from a 1940's Hollywood ghost story when the fog rolls up out of the river at midnight and blankets everything with an eerie chill, so that you cannot see the road out. But don't go there just to see the ghosts. You don't want one to follow you home.
